How does your game fit the theme?
Rather than run your Papa's Pizzeria, in Pizzas Please, you play as the nitpicky customer harassing an innocent pizzeria owner with negative online reviews. Let anarchy reign!

I love the idea of changing the course of the pizza place economy by making bad reviews. The receipt printing was also super satisfying :D

I really like the idea. It provides some unique gameplay. On first playthrough I got really bad rolls and didn't think much of the game cause all the pizzas were pretty much good. Second time I got a nice spread, still I think some easy bad pizzas at the start would have worked better to hook the player. Sometimes the sizing was a bit iffy, I saw less then 14 inch let's say but my report got flagged still. I'd say the gameplay loop is lacking when it comes to discarding good pizzas. I'd rather be able to rate them well, just throwing them to trash without rating wasn't intuitive. Other than that the interface worked really well. The descriptions for the pizzas were great and funny. Good job!

This is a well-designed game! I love the theme and the vibe. A few points of feedback:

  • The start button should be clickable or say "press space to start"
  • I love the use of "not", but too many loses its charm quickly
  • I was sad to not receive money for correctly identifying a correct pizza, tho maybe that is the point
  • The incorrect tickets you get are great!
  • I would prefer to start on an easy pizza and get more complex pizzas later

Well done! This is a great entry!

I like it, but the game seems to softlock if you throw out a pizza without a review, the next just doesn't come in. :/

Also is it based on that episode from Brooklyn 99 ?

Thanks for trying out the game! I would double check that you're discarding both the pizza and receipt, which should trigger the next order.

Very funny take on the "Papers, Please!" formula ^^

Only thing that caught me off guard were the notes that said "no [ingredient] on X side" when the ingredient wasn't on the pizza to begin with? I assumed that it meant the ingredient was supposed to be on the pizza, but not on that side, and I got punished once for it.

That's only a minor nitpick on an otherwise great experience though! Would leave a 5-star review on Pelp, but you know how it is lol.

Really like this parody of Paper Please. 10/10 !

But sadly I have to still add a 1 star on pelp, because the pizza weren’t to my liking

I like the idea a lot. Am I supposed to be able to change the review that is posted at all? I keep getting writeups and can only move the phone around. Am I missing something?

Developer(+1)

Your boss doesn't like this pizza joint, so he's helpfully configured your phone to only post 1 star reviews! Your task is to look for mistakes and post a bad review if you spot any. Otherwise, just toss away the pizza and receipt and you'll be able to move on to the next entry.

Gotcha. So kindof "ignore" those warnings that pop up even if I catch a mistake?

If it helps as a reference, the criteria for a bad pizza is listed on the napkin in the bottom left! When the Pelp moderation team sends you messages, it indicates they don't consider the pizza incorrect.

Great parody of Papers Please. Had a lil struggle at first on how the game worked, but after that first bit, I destroyed so many local pizzarias as well as my morale lol

No nitpicking here like in the game. Good job!

Excellent procedural pizza system! I mean uh... 1/4 stars BAD PIZZA!

Funny game, a little bit too similar to papers, please., very fun though! I did enjoy overall.

Nice job! Wish there could be a bit more of a progression of mechanics or a difficulty curve, but otherwise it's well made and well presented!
