Interesting concept :)

Fun idea and cool execution!

"What if we made Cookie Clicker but decided to switch out the Cookies for failing organs?" is exactly what you asked yourself/yourselves when you started this game, right?  Outside of that, it's a interesting concept for sure!! I don't see how it could be expanded upon though...

Clever take on a clicker management game. I can imagine how this could be expanded to include more hectic events and possible additional management mechanics (e.g. possibly automating some of the organ maintenance with medication, but it runs out frequently/needs purchased? maybe donating blood earns you currency for the meds?). Still, solid foundation and a fun, quirky theme. Congrats!

I'm a seasoned cookie clicker player. I can mash a mouseclick with the best of them.

I wonder if the uncomfortable UI was an intentional part of the design, on account of bodily upkeep being a very uncomfortable feeling?

As the person ages, that tamborine gets pretty hectic!

If you are to continue developing this after the game jam, I would love to see a feature where you get to see the stages of Randy's life. Perhaps his lifestyle at the different stages of his life could be randomly generated (with a optional no-RNG for speedrunners)?

I would be keen on being able to play the more challenging parts of keeping Randy alive. So being able to start my game from 'retirement age' or 'aged care hospice' would be great!

Anyway, here's my high score:

Wait thats normal?

Oh! Which bit are you enquiring being 'normal'?

(You're the developer, you know the intent of your own game better than I do!)

The highscore

Well, I can play it again and see what other highscore I can get. It does take some time to get up to that point.

The lungs went from 100% to 20% in half a second. And then to 0% when I realised what happened.

I don't have any video capture software to make a demo.

Okay, so I've played it again, and wasn't paying as much attention to my heart's blood level and died. (I was keeping on top of the organs alright despite the sweat just starting.)

This is my score:

Very polished but I'm with the others who said there wasn't time to read the text on the right, also I found I could keep myself alive and maintain all the organs without much struggle. Still a very impressive build in 48 hours!

Submitted(+1)

Its a pretty fun game although i wish the organs were all visible at the same time isntead of having to scroll also having light text on a light background is kinda detrimental to readability. i had fun though well done!

Submitted(+1)

Cool idea! I liked how Randy seems to just be constantly sick of influenza or by junk food. :)

It was a bit difficult to focus on what was happening and at the same time manage your organs, so I didn't really look at the text so much.

I like your idea and how it's simple to play. For the purposes of the game, I think you reached them. To be honest, after a while, I see the game is just point-and-click. I think your idea is good but I have to focus on the left of the screen too much so I don't know much about the story on the right. I think that's all I can suggest. Anyway, great job.

Wow, cool interpretation of the theme. I enjoyed dying many times for a variety of different things 😆... Well done, nice game!

to not repeat what everyone said below, the game was hella fun!
It was quite well made! I am impressed by the amount of polish, gameplay loop was very fun, event he Idea is fun, I am truly impressed with the execution of such a smart concept, especially for such a short time frame,
overall a very solid entry, great work!

I think randy has more then just an internal struggle going on

Really simple and funny, took me longer then I'd like to admit figuring out how to pump blood

Wow wow wow I really like this one. I was laughing out loud. It did take me a while to figure out the controls, but that's easy to improve with like, some bigger click states on the buttons so it's clear you clicked on the heart. And it would be nice is all of the organs were in the same screen so you don't have to scroll. But honestly this is 5 star enjoyment for me 'cause of the simplicity and humor and personality. I know it's a silly jam game, but I think it's worth spending some more time on. :D

Cool take on working as the heart to pump blood. I especially liked the status messages but was panicked to keep pumping the blood to not have my human die lol

I love the idea, it's very strange but in a charming way. I think I was able to get a pretty decent high score, it feels like this would make for a really nice mobile game!

Developer

Funnily enough you can play it on mobile...

funny and simple, got a high score of 358 so beat that however is reading this.

pretty hilarious for me ! I liked the art presentation nice game keep it up! music is well suited tooo!

I liked this a lot, absolute chaos at one point. The music started doubling up too which made it a bit manic, but it was fun. The dialogue was also hilarious, well done.

I love the concept, our team actually talked about doing a reversed "idle game" and calling it an "active game" as a joke but I feel like this is an actual manifestation of that concept. If there was a little bit more to micro manage to make this hectic I think it would be a great experience but as it is now it's just a bit too easy. Still very well done for the time frame.

Plot twist, I was in your team the whole time!
