How does your game fit the theme?
1. Rather than the traditional role as a protagonist, the player instead plays as a level designer by laying traps throughout the level that computer controlled-characters then need to traverse. 2. After all levels are completed, the player then takes the role of the computer-controlled characters and has to retraverse all the levels, including their own traps.

Oh of course I didn't make it hard, I made it impossible...😂 Great game!
Haha, well I'm glad you got to experience the twist blind. Thanks a bunch for the screenshot, I'm happy you enjoyed :D
Oh I really like how you incorporated "role reversal" actively by having the game split into two halves, the first impacting the second. It's a very clever use of the theme that feels very active in the game-play, as opposed to just the initial concept.
I DID find it kinda buggy. Getting to the point where I was platforming I died near instantly, and you can "cheese" the villagers by placing a bear trap right at their spawn. Overall really strong concept!
Glad you liked my idea. Going back through the traps was the last thing I implemented and I was getting quite stressed towards the deadline ^^
I intentionally made the hitboxes for the traps very large to avoid villagers jumping over them... unfortunately, that backfired for the platforming sections. I'm planning to balance it out a bit more (as well as some other things) and reupload it to the Post Jam.
Thanks for the feedback :D
lol this is the most interesting game I have played so far.
Choosing hundreds of villagers makes the game relaxing seeing them dying(?
And letting the player escape from their own trap is so fun, I always die there lol
But for the last level, villagers got stuck at the door and didn't move in my playing, bit curious whether it is a bug or collision(?
Thank you very much for your kind feedback, glad you enjoyed killing the villagers ;)
I made the collision box quote large for the bear traps as it was a bit annoying when the villagers didn't get caught in them. Unfortunately, that made it a bit unfair for the player when going back through them... whoops.
In the glitch in the third level is due to an error with the pathfinding. There are two points that the villagers will run either left or right towards: the bottom right corner and then the exit. This worked fine until I uploaded it, when the order of the points got reversed, meaning that they try to run straight to the exit which is directly beneath them.
I have fixed this issue now and added a few more features which I'm planning to upload to the Post Jam.
Enjoyed playing your game!
Awesome, glad to hear it :D
You got me with the switch! I would like to be able to replay only the last part, because going through the whole first part is a bit tedious if you are as bad as I am. I am also not sure if in the last level the villagers are supposed to not move? Anyway I really enjoyed playing this game!
Ah, that's a good idea, I hadn't thought about checkpoints. Thanks for the feedback, I may add that to a later version :)
Glad you enjoyed my game!
I really like the switcheroo at the middle of the game. Clever !
Glad you enjoyed :D
It was fun killing all those villagers ahah
Nice trap based concept
Glad you enjoyed my submission :D
Really love the idea although sadly last level broke. If you finished up the game, I would actually play it!
Unfortunately, the bug in the last level only appeared after being uploaded (a few minutes before the jam deadline). Fortunately, the villagers will start to die on their own after 40 seconds. So you can play past it, but it is very annoying :'(
I have already found a fix for the bug and I'm planning to upload it to the Post Jam with a few other changes.
Thanks very much for the feedback!
so yea this is wat i did opps
Hahaha, AMAZING! I was hoping someone would do this. Thanks for sharing the screenshot :D
I've played with large numbers a few times but I don't think it's as fun as it could be with the current trap types. I'd like to add some repeating AoE traps (e.g. fire sprinklers), and also a fast-forward button, which I think would definitely improve this quite a bit!
yea for sure! great job
I was like "Oh the 'role reverse' is about you building traps" i was soo wrong lol. nice idea and implementation.
Hehe, the ol' double theme ;) Thanks for playing.
I went in blind and totally painted myself in a corner! (full of deadly traps, didn’t last long)
I'm glad you got to experience the twist without spoilers though :D Ideally, that's how I would like the first experience to be, but I also need to say how my game fits the theme.
The idea is really cool!
So sad the last level has that bug, i wanted to keep playing!
Also, i loved the idea they are ready to sacrifice an entire town just to avenge one chicken theft hahah
Yea, I was pretty upset when I saw the bug as it was after the deadline. Luckily, you can still progress if you have a trap hitting the entrance (the villagers will also start to die after 40 seconds). You can also set the number of villagers to be lower before starting, if you can beat them all before the 3rd level you will be able to avoid the glitch.
Thanks for the feedback! Obviously it was a very important chicken ;)
Cool idea, the give and take between killing as many villagers as possible in the initial run while still making the area traversable on the way back was a good one. I did keep running into a glitch when I got the final cave wherein the villagers wouldn't run forward and just got stuck at the entrance. If I ended by cave 2 though it would work. Great job!
Thanks very much for the feedback, I'm glad you enjoyed my game :)
Unfortunately, the glitch in the 3rd level only appeared once I'd uploaded it to Itch and I didn't have time to fix it before the deadline. Still, all part of the learning experience :D
Really great idea! Having to go through your own traps makes placing them way more challenging. Also, I like how you can choose the quantity of enemies. Very interesting game.
I'm happy you enjoyed it! Thanks for the feedback :)
Very fun idea! I'd love to see you expand this in a post-jam version and add new traps, parkour moves, level types, and maybe even other villager types that can dodge/avoid certain traps. This was enjoyable to play from start to finish, and very impressive for a weekend jam!
I'm very happy to hear you enjoyed my game, I would definitely like to polish it off and add more variety. Thanks very much for the kind feedback!
Every time I think I've seen the last game that has you play two sides of the same game I find another one that has a new spin on it! Very fun idea, I just love games like this that encourage you to win by the smallest margin you can in the first phase. Great job :)
Cheers for the feedback, I'm happy you enjoyed it!
Ok this was a lot more fun than i thought! well done! Cool Game!
Glad you liked it :D
there are many layers of cool ideas in this game! i loved the 2 phases gamestyle, i wasn't prepare to parkour over my own traps hahaha! also being able to chose the number of villagers was kinda cool! however i had a bug on my last run, which caused all the traps from levels 2 and 3 to be moved before i had to escape, and they were like in walls, so they weren't threats anymore.
Awesome feedback, thank you very much! I don't think the in-game character had thought about going back over the traps either :D
I hadn't encountered the level 2 and 3 trap bug yet, so thanks for letting me know. I'll look into it 👍
I really love the idea of first placing traps and then having to surpass them yourself, very neat!
Glad you enjoyed, thanks for playing :)
Cool game, I feel like I'll never be able to kill all the "players" hehe, very promising :)
Yea, to be honest, I designed it so that most of the players would die in the final level, the one that is glitched :'( But you can change the number of villagers following you in the main menu. Glad you enjoyed it :)
