Really cool concept, and a fun take on the theme! The deflection felt super nice and overall super enjoyable! Really great game, especially for a 48hr jam!!
Wow, easily one of my top 5 from this jam! The nested scaling is the best i've seen in the jam, and I love that you can see meaningful things in the smaller layers. The mechanic of finding smaller and bigger keys is delightful. The whole experience is designed and balanced really beautifully. Awesome Job!
I love this concept! An inception of a game! I loved that you could make huge swords! The art was great and the mechanic of this game made the enemy feel different each time even though it was the same! Great job on the jam!
Fun concept and a really great way to play with the theme! It did get a little repetitive quickly but it was still fun to get bigger sword! Great job!
Wow! I love the way you implemented the theme into your game! I also love the combat system and how you can deflect the enemies' projectiles with the sword. Seeing enemies hurting and killing each other made me laugh. Those giant bugs don't seem to get along. XD
Really liked this one! The only negative I can think of was the pick up key not being very intuitive to use.
I loved the concept! As I kept going further and further into smaller rooms, I was thinking to myself why would I ever change from a big sword to a small one? Right after, I walk out of a smaller room into a bigger room and the sword changed size and I was like "Ohhh now I get it!".
PS: Throwing back the projectiles at the enemies felt very nice!
Really well polished game, The frist time I died I thought I have to restart the whole level, thank god I can keep the progress LOL. At mid point I started using the strategy of take and run, avoid every monster I encounted haha.
Great game!
I even took some time (way longer than I dare to admit) to create this massive beauty.
So much fun good as always Thomas. I really have no complaints other than some small bugs and glitches here and there. I loved the combat system. The death violin sound needs a mention too. You really nailed it!
P.S. it kinda reminds me of “a game inside a game inside a game…” by Sam Hogan.
A really good one! I liked it! Also, the concept and realization are great!
Love this game! It's got style and feels really good to play, such that even when the concept starts repeating itself, it still feels good to play until the end. Feels extra good to slay a big enemy with an oversized sword. The scaling is really satisfying (and kind of makes me jealous, tbh). I just wish there was a settings menu to adjust the SFX and key bindings.
Okay, this is nuts for a 48 hour entry. Original music (with a death sound the moves to fit the chord changes? Nice touch!), original art, procedurally generated levels . . . Definitely knocked it out of the park in the creativity department!
This is absolutely my favourtie game that I've played so far! I love the seamlessness of the transitions, I love how you can carry around a giant sword, I love reflecting bullets back at the evil wasps. Great game! Lol
The game is very creative, and the character management is convenient. The design of the game page is great! I went through the game to the end!
Nice concept, and I do like the end of the game. Nice mechanism to backfire at the enemies.
Theming could have been a bit better. Is it a knight? Then what are the enemies supposed to be?
Overall a neat game that's fun to play.
Thank you! Yeah I agree on the theming. Player is a knight cuz dungeon crawler, and enemies are insects cuz tiny rooms, but other than that, there's not much going on theme/story-wise.
Very well designed and developed! Maybe just a but repetitive after few minutes...
Thanks! Yeah I think adding more items with different effects would add a ton of variety.
Extremely creative idea, and you executed it so well!
Thank youuuuu :)
I always somehow end up on art videos that go from a painting down into another painting and so on. Happy to try it out as a game :D. I did like that not only the rooms were scaling up and down but some of the objects inside did as well. No idea how you managed to finish all that within 48 but well done.
PS my brain was in a bit of pain when i had to pickup a weapon, knowing that i have to press "E" but the "W" suggestion tricked me every time.
Thank you, glad you liked it!
Yeah I got confused with the keys (my keyboard is a french keyboard) but E or Z are the keys to pick up items, not W sorry!
Wow, awesome take on the theme! The levels within levels within levels concept is really creative! Nice job! We loved the art style and color palette! Addint it o our library of game jam gems!
Heyy, thank you so much! I really appreciate it
It took me waaayy too long to realise my browser was bugged, and some assets failed to load, I was running around in a green room with invisible walls and nowhere to go lol…
Amazing idea! Fits the theme extremely well! I never felt like I was stuck and even though you die in one hit, it never felt too unfair or frustrating. I am very surprised at how well polished the game feels, I couldn’t find any game-breaking glitches.
Some bugs I did find:
Great game!
Oopsie for the glitches, and yeah I got confused with the keys (both Z and E work to pick up but not W obviously...) Glad you still liked the game despite that!
