This could definitely be released as a mobile game with not much extra work. Great and simple mechanic, very satisfying to use. Not sure about being stunned by falling a short distance, maybe only stun for higher falls? But I would give it a few more days work and release it, really enjoyable game. Good work!

Developer

I agree! Thanks for the constructive feedback! Will definitely take note of this for the future!

Really clean art and I love the portable ladder mechanic, there's really helpful telegraphing for debris falling and it adds tension. Really well done. With our games having similar themes I can't help but feel like we could have collaborated on something ;)

Played your game and it definitely something we could have collaborated on! Thanks for your feedback!

Wow, it looks like a finised mobile game, nice job! really great art style.

Developer

Thankyou for playing. We'll try to port it on mobile someday.  :D

This game is polished enough to be published on mobile stores right now. The scope and execution are impressive—truly well done. For constructive feedback, I’d suggest reducing the amount of debris and shortening the tutorial slightly. Other than that, you're on the right track. This easily makes it into my Top 10 of the jam so far.

Developer

Thankyou so much for the feedback, this will help us improve the game. We'll take note of this <3

Art is great - tutorial was a little long but good - would like to see the monster more and have some bonus pick ups or something (faster ladders etc) to help influence my route.
Liked the Gobba talking and character.

Nice entry - could be a decent mobile game!

Developer

Thank you for playing! Will take note of your very constructive feedback in future versions of the game <3

You can publish this game on the playstore and I will never believe this game is only done in a game jam; that's how polished this game is. GG, RaisinsGang!!

Developer

Thank you so much!!! GG!

Really creative take on the challenge, meshed with good art too. The ladder mechanic is very simple and fun to use, could easily see this being a great mobile game. My high score was 216! Great work!

Amazing job on the visuals of the game! I feel like this game is very polished with everything that's in it. The tutorial is nicely paced so that the player learns the game slowly instead of being thrown a bunch of information at once. The arcade feel is definitely there and it's a solid game.

Great job! My high score was 256

Nice! I'm so glad you enjoyed the game! Will take note of the tutorial in the future! Thank you!!!

Much like has already been said, great job on the visuals and polish!

I get pretty far pretty easily — to the point that I'm questioning the difficulty curve. The page description mentions it, but it just wasn't really noticeable after the first area change, which mostly just acts as a head start. That could mean the dragon's faster, the platforms are farther and fewer between, and maybe debris falls more often or with less warning (though I'd be careful with those since they're more frustrating). But I'd just make it become challenging faster.

I think my favorite part other than the presentation was naturally learning how far Gobba could fall before being stunned. I think you could lean into this more and try to design challenging sections where you have to intentionally fall a bit.

A nice touch would be to make the dragon's chomping volume change based on how close it is, or some other indication of how safe you are.

Great job and I love your take on the theme, an extending ladder, very clever! 💙

Developer

Oh wooow! Thank you so much for the very constructive feedback! Will be noting this for future iterations of the game!

Wow! This might be one of the most polished game jam games I've seen so far. Even the game page is incredibly well done. The gameplay loop itself is a bit simple. It would have been really cool to to have some power ups or something similar.

Developer

Thank you so much for your feedback! Will keep the powerups ni mind for the future versions of the game  ❤️

Immediately super fun, between the sounds, tangible ladder placement, and big splashy animations.  I could definitely play this on my phone for a few hours, haha.  One piece of feedback - because your animations, characters , and UI are already so expressive, I feel like I didn't need the tutorial at all-- wonder if you could have just had me press space to deploy my first ladder after the dragon showed up, then let me figure out the rest.  Very fun regardless!

Developer

Wow thank you so much for your feedback! As for the tutorial, there is a skip tutorial button on the upper right corner of the game so you could explore it without much help! Thank you again!! Love your feedback
