The game play is great, but the 3rd level needs help!!
Streamed today before I thought my computer caught on fire!!
Thanks for playing!
Nice idea (and especially fun title and description, tbh). I do think some of the in-game physics are a little jank, I think with (what I assume to be) a lack of friction affecting some things when resized, but still fun!
Thanks for playing and for the feedback! And yea, there's some polishing to do once the Jam is over!
Awesome work! I got stuck on the 3rd level i think (been a while since doing a puzzle game myself) but felt the controls were tight and intuitive! I liked you added the keys the objects as a part of the tutorial making the game easy to pick up.
Thanks for playing and thanks for the feedback! I put some good thought into how I could teach the players seamlessly, and I'm glad that it paid off!
The game reminds me of my wife, who is also a goblin. This is some great representation!
Comment from wife when asked: "Gasp! I am wife!"
Very nice puzzles. I've seen a few puzzle games based on scaling but this utilizes it in new ways. It utilizes your height as puzzle elements as well as object size. Getting yourself to the right size while still allowing yourself to reach the goal requires planning.
It's a bit janky but in a good way. I like that you can grow and shrink blocks repeatedly to move them.
If you plan on expanding this in the future, I recommend having some visuals to highlight the current box. Adding and outline to the boxes could work.
Overall a very solid entry especially considering that this is your first jam.
Thanks for playing and the feedback! Yea, aside from the physics jank, (although the "inchworm" effect of moving boxes is an enfeatured bug) UI/UX is the biggest thing that needs refinement. But as a proof of concept prototype, I'm happy with how it turned out!
Quite a nice little puzzle game. I'm sure you already know about the lack of polish, but given that this is for a jam, it's really good!
Well, thank you! And thanks for playing!
Great game ! That is quite good for a first jam, u should be proud of that ! Keep up the good work :)
Thanks so much! The feedback has been fantastic as well!
Very enjoyable with good balance of fun to difficulty
Thanks so much for playing!
Also cool nickname, Pierogi are goated :D
That was a fun little puzzle game, I enjoyed it! Sometimes I did find it hard to target specific objects to manipulate, but you did have a very clear implementation of the theme. Nicely done!
Thanks for playing! And yes, I'm working on figuring out post-jam fixes for controls.
I really enjoy games like this. It was fun figuring out different ways to scale to make it to the doors.
Thanks so much for playing!
Great game idea and nice implementation!
There are some bugs here and there, for example if you scae down an pillar under another object would make it to clip under the floor and disappear, forcing you to restart.
I like the level desing and how many creative solutions you made that take advantage of the game mechanics. Sometimes I wasn't sure if I solved the level the way it was intended (like keep costantly change the size of something to move it) but it was always pretty fun finding the different exploits. Speaking of fun, I enjoyed the game a lot (5 star on that!) even if I was not able to reach the end.
Now, could you please tell me how to solve this level? It's really bugging me T_T
Being invested enough to ask for a solution is unironically the single biggest compliment I have received yet! Actually, the "inchworm" interaction was absolutely intentional! In fact, that is part of the solution in the pictured image.
If you want more than that hint:
*Spoilers*
As hinted in the J button tutorial and used in the aforementioned 2 pillar inchworm tutorial, you "move" the box on the ledge onto the pillar, you can then expand it horizontally and vertically while standing on the pillar to have a "stairway" to reach the ledge!
Yay! Now managed to complete the game properly. 100% I can say, I played all levels in the cut content section also. Some cool stuff there :)
Thanks so much! Happy you could get through it!
Nice puzzle platformer. I like the concept to exchange the size of the characters and the objects. But sometimes difficult to control the exchange ratio and need to change the size back and forth.
Thanks for playing!
Nice puzzle game, smooth and simple, the audio track is clean as well !
Thanks for playing!
Very nice idea to scale things with character size.
It was initially just a visual indicator to save on UI dev, until I realized that it could be used for platforming.
I've seen many games that play off of scaling for platformers but your team had an interesting twist of limiting it by the objects that are around the room. Great job!
Thanks for playing! Also, this was a solo effort!
You're a one man team!
I really liked this game, the idea was nice and simple and felt like it was explored fully.
Thanks for playing, and the compliment! I tried to get everything I could out of what little I added!
This is actually a really cool puzzle game! I got stumped towards the end, but I managed to pull through! Great work, cool sfx!
Thanks so much for playing!
cool sfx!
The Grow/Shrink is just two bits of down-pitched slide whistle, lol.
Oh man, I LOVE this mechanic! I like that you're pulling the scale from one item and then using it for another. Really cool! Nice job!
Thanks! I feel like the concept has a lot of potential, so the response this has gotten has been very encouraging. Thanks for playing!
This was really fun! it was really fun figuring out how to balance this singular size resource across both the objects and the player themselves
Thanks so much for playing!
Fantastic concept! Really love the use of trading your scale with objects.
Thanks for playing!
