Fun game but very frustrating. The missiles feel ineffective, and you need at least 2 to destroy an asteroid so the first half of the game your forced to crash and hurt your ship to get cash flow, or stand in one place equipping no engines to and waiting for cash to hit your ship. Both options just feeling bad. (best was 80k)
If you can survive that bit though it gets quite fun, but I can't make it far after due to being so hurt from the start of each run. Not sure what I am missing, but if this is the intent, id say beating up your players before they can even do anything is not an enjoyable mechanic.
Yeah I messed up the difficulty scale on the last day. The game wasn't meant to be that hard, trust me (:
This was fun. The tutorial was a lot to take in though. Enjoyed building my ship and seeing it work. All the parts were useful and felt well-balanced. The summary wraps the game up nicely.
Sorry, I'll try to make things slower next time :P
The game was surprisingly fun!
First of I skipped all the text that told me what to do since I could not be bothered to read all of it, instead what you can do is make it so that you unlock each of the building blocks after a certain point so that you are forced to use and learn each building part.
All in all this game was fun to play and impressive.
Yeah, I gotta learn how to make a proper tutorial lol. I'm glad you liked it!
I really enjoyed this game, after a little frustration at the start. I'm going to go for 200k km! Really good art and sound as well!
Aw my bad, the difficulty scaling have a bit of a problem right now. I didn't fix it in time. It's supposed to be easier at first
This game is really fun! I'll definitely try getting to 200,000 km
Yeah... A few things in my game kinda needs an emergency nerf right now. The current difficulty scaling is really bad. I miscalculated:P
But hey, at least you enjoyed it!
An incredible amount of work went in to this! Outstanding entry!
Also are you a solo dev??? If so, how???
If one people can work 8 hours a day, I'll just stop sleeping or eating and that will be the equivalent of a three-person team :D JK I have my own schedule haha.
Very well-made and polished game! The mechanics paired with sound effects definitely make it a bit addictive, in a good sense.
I'm glad you enjoyed it! Cheers
intro is way too long, should've spent more time polishing up the main game.
Nice effort though.
It's my first ever attempt of making an intro so imperfections are inevitable. Thanks for visiting my game!
I can proudly say this is the best game I have played so far in the jam, at least fun-wise. I just absolutely love games where you need to build stuff up to get stronger. (That's why my entry is kind of similar to this.) My final score is currently 170k. I will definitely come back to this in the future.
The only critique I have is that sometimes it was hard to tell if I actually got hit or not.
Besides that, this is a really addictive game. Good job!
Yeah I should have added a sound of metal colliding. But I forgot :P
Took some time to get used to but I was soon addicted. Played a couple times and reached 60k. Will definitely be revisiting to beat the game!
Some of my playtesters blamed me for making the game so addictive lol
I think I played this one longer than any game yet. It reminded me of the kind of flash game I loved as a kid and made me feel very nostalgic. A+
I do think the balancing needs tweaking, feels very punishing early on.
Yeah, my bad. I should probably retweak my difficulty scaling.
That's super playable, polished and has good sound design. Great job!
Thanks! I'm really proud of it myself
Solid game! Took a sec to figure out how to build, and I wish you could start building during the tutorial. I never really figured how to upgrade. That said, this was a blast to play!
Welp, it's my first ever attempt at creating a tutorial. I'm glad that you enjoyed it!
Similar feedback to everyone else regarding the tutorial, but otherwise I had a blast! Played it a couple times to beat my distance! Really great job!
Cheers! Yours is awesome too.
Really nice. I liked the strategic element!
I'm glad you enjoyed it!
I made it to 38 000km! I liked the narrative intro and the tutorial is great (if a bit long maybe).
I would have liked a label on the two progress bars maybe? In any case, congratulations on your game :)
The ending is around the 200.000km mark but I doubt anyone would invest the time beating it though haha. Thanks for playing!
Neat! Two changes I recommend are: Give input option to move the dialog along instead of animating it away on its own; and another change is making the tutorial slower- like the other person said, introduce one part at a time.
It's the first time I ever made a proper tutorial so I'll keep that in mind next time. Thanks for playing!
nice idea! i think would be nice if you can introduce the mechanics one at a time!
Well each basic components are quite straightforward so I thought the quick explanation in the tutorial was enough. Thanks for playing!
Wow, this is great. I can see this be a full roguelite ala FTL.
I really wanted to have different types of meteorite with various materials but unfortunately, I didn't have enough time :P
