The idea is great, but... my platform moves at an insanely fast speed, making it impossible to control. I suspect the speed is tied to the frame rate.
Great job using the theme to make a delightful twist on a classic game! The art and visuals are top notch.
The scale mechanic makes the old game feel so fresh! Love it <3
Love the art style, and the concept was very fun!
Arts are very cleans, the game is fun, i like having to send love to to calm the Ball.

So so pretty and so fun! Love this take on an old classic. Also really enjoyed the music, great chill vibes. By the way, in case you haven't seen: Mark played your game on yesterday's live!
Thank you so much for pointing this out, rickrando! We are very delighted to see that our game gets to be played by Mark himself here. We were not aware of it until you reply here so thank you once again. Appreciate it. :)
Loved the concept and your art, sometimes you always need a little love to calm down the anger :D
Also the gameplay is very engaging, great twist on the classic breakout formula!
Great art and great twist! I did run into a couple of bugs. One was when at some point, the ball started following the paddle, going left when I go left and so on. Another there was a certain angle that the ball got into where it bounced indefinitely from left to right. It was all very funny. Great job!
That's a pretty cute idea, and a fun twist on the genre ! I just had problems controlling the ball, it seems like wherever the ball hits the paddle, it does not change its trajectory, so I got stuck at some point where the ball just went vertically into an undestructible block, and just bounced indefinitely. The way most breakout games work is that the further away from the center the ball hits, the more its trajectory is affected.
The graphics are really neat too, very simple but cute and clean, that's perfect for a game jam game, well done !
Very clever and unique idea, and looks really cute! Well done! :)
Great game! The art and music are so cute! I love the fact that you could immediately restart.
I encountered a small issue in which the ball got bigger but it didn't hurt the paddle anymore? Better for the player! :)
Cute art and relaxing gameplay, although it was a bit buggy for me, hearts not always registering on the ball, and ball growing past max size, the absence of a fail state really allowed me to enjoy it to the end :)
Great idea and execution!
Interesting idea, I think the ball should always reflect the paddle depending on the position it collides in the paddle, like the original game. Because like this, it can stay in a vertical position and there is no way to break this cycle (or I couldn't find it). Other than that it was good and I also liked the art!
Fantastic idea! Really adds a new layer to this type of game very naturally while fitting the theme and obviously great, and obviously great visuals too! Well done
Really nice implementation of the theme on a classic game. Sometimes after a restart the ball position is tied to the paddle, but only a minor bug. I enjoyed it. GG
Very nice take on the team and on breakout! The entry is well-rounded, with a novel twist on a known gameplay, cute graphics and nice music/sfx, the whole thing tied together with a simple but charming little story. Only thing i noticed is that collisions can sometimes be a bit buggy (getting two collisions in one go and having you paddle break, the ball getting a bit stuck bouncing from left to right, etc.) but otherwise a very complete entry!
This is fresh!
It's so cool to see a Breakout/Arkanoid-like game being taken in a unique direction by incorporating the jam's theme.
The cute characterisation of the ball and paddle is conveyed well by your art style and colour. Though I get the sense it's not the most healthy of relationships.
For a moment I thought that I had got the ball stuck, horizontally bouncing between the walls. But it quickly hit a ridge and got back on track.
A very enjoyable entry :)
Extremely good game! Simple yet super effective. Polished, too the point and a cute framing to tie this game together. Great work you two, very well done!
Wedding planning can be a tough and stressful time, but I hope paddle and ball find a way to talk about any difficulties and stresses they may be feeling in their relationship and how best to support each other!
There goes the bouquet,
thrownbounced into the crowd of game jam characters! Landing into the hands of the next to be weds!OH MY GOD. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE ART! You've got no idea how teary-eyed I am currently typing this right now, but thank you very much. Really love how you capture the vibes of Paddle and Ball together in this. I love they tiny teeny rings too, sooo cute! Very appreciate the effort going towards this cute little thing. Gonna print and frame it for sure after this.
I love the artwork very much. Also very funy idea. :)
