Super creative concept and fun art! Was definitely a bit of a guessing game at first to figure out the levels of the different creatures but very fun overall. Great game!

Developer

Thank you for kind words, glad you had fun!

One of the most unique concepts I've played this jam, and man that biting commentary about the industry at the end haha!

Thanks for playing!

what is happening

Developer

Basically you have a deck of creatures, and get to draw random 5, then try to match their challenge level to the expected. A bit of luck, a bit of memorization and a lot of RNG ;)

Interesting take. We get to design the game. :)
If we had some stats or previous knowledge, we could plan our decisions more strategically.
I think being too random / trial error takes a bit the fun out of the game.

Developer

Thank you for playing and feedback! <3

Unique take on the theme! Although initially I thought this would be boring, I got hooked onto it soon after. I like the exploratory nature of figuring out/making educated guesses on the power scaling of the creatures. However, sometimes I found that none of the options would give me the right scale.. not sure if this was because I used up the right cards earlier by mistake, or the RNG is a bit off. Either way, I had fun playing!

Thank you for playing!
It's a bit of both really. There's a pool for each level, but it's eyballed, not properly balanced, and RNG sometimes picks a no-win situation :(

great concept and art but it would be better if we could prepare the ennemies before the level so it's less based on luck

Developer

Thank you for playing! Yes, that would be interesting to build your own deck, another suggestion was to make all the monsters available at all times to make it more like memory game.

A cool concept but would still need some rebalancing on the RNG part. But the story part is what shines the most here. Clever game to play in this theme with this mechanic. Good job on this game! :)

Developer

Thanks! Yeah... RNG is a common complaint :_D

Concept of the game is super great imma be honest this deserves to be super high just for the creativity of the idea, but i think the execution could 've been better like idk the gameplay can be improved for now it seems too random for me cause selecting ennemies sometimes you don't know wich one would be harder than the other (in the begining even more )  apart from obvious like dragons so yeah but still great game loved it

Developer

Thank you for kind words! Yeah, many comments about it being too random, will think about it! Thanks for playing!

It's a really cool concept, but unless I'm missing something it's a bit too dependent on RNG. There were several points where the game forced me into making a bad decision. Otherwise it's really well done.

Developer(+1)

The options are drawn from the pool, handcrafted for each level, so it's not _entirely_ RNG, but I see you point! It would be interesting to do a remake where you have all the necessary monsters available at all times :)
Thank you for playing and interesting feedback!

An amazing game and super unique! Plus the little story was a delight. Good job!

Memory games are not my forte but I'm impressed by the creativity.

Really unique design! Also fits the theme in a smart way, great work!

What?? This is super creative, wtf, really clever idea. The only problem would be not knowing beforehand how fun some fight is, but I guess this adds to the mechanic. Great clever game!

Developer(+1)

Thank you! Yeah, I kinda wanted this to be a bit exploratory, but also tried it to be lore-accurate, like dragon > giant > troll etc, for players to make educated guesses :)

as a runescape player myself I thought goblins were boring since they’re the first enemy you encounter on runescape, but apparently their kinda awesome here xD

Developer(+1)

THERE IS STRENGTH IN NUMBERS :D They're super nasty looking in that art pack, so I promoted them a bit :)

Submitted(+1)

Pretty fun concept! It was game of memory and knowing when to "discard" unnecessary game events, interesting.
I can tell you my fun gauge was not depleted at the end, far from that! Well done!!

great concept and art style
maybe redefine the way the players gets the challenge options because sometimes i would not get low difficulty level challenges when i needed them they would come at the peak.

Would love if you rated my game!

XOXO

Developer

Yeah, I was kinda torn between CCG and memory game... Should have leaned one way or the other!
Than you for playing <3

Funny game, love the art style!

interesting entry, long time I had not played a memory game !

Lil frustrating to not have any "good" choise in certain cases, but it didn't penalize too much on the score so its ok !

Loved the art style too !

Good job !

the game is not difficult but the idea is cool

Submitted(+1)

Cool idea for sure, while it didn't feel too difficult, It was definitely refreshing to use my memory as a core mechanic. Good job on making a knowledge-based game! Also that ending ... :O
