Wow, there is so much content! Crazy that this doesn't have more ratings yet!
The aesthetics are utterly immaculate - the sound and visual designs do wonders for how unsettling the game gets. That being said - is there any reason to not fill the screen? I feel like fleshing out the initial module construction would be great. What if modules affected more than just a single stat, or had their stat influences change with how other stats were doing - for instance, a defense module that increases defense but takes supplies each year, or education modules that perform better than the normal ones so long as your morale is high enough? Alternatively, what about grafting modules on - for instance, getting to add another module each turn? On a related note, the attachment system is interesting but not really expanded upon - what about modules with less than 4 connection points that, if destroyed, snap off everything that used to be attached to them?
In any case, great work! :) I'd love to play a fleshed out post-jam version of this, if you get around to it.
This is really good! There are a ton of wide and varied events, and the music and dialogues contribute really well to the atmosphere of the game. I think I am still unsure exactly on how best to arrange the initial modules to prepare for the scenarios.. so maybe some kind of tutorial for the uninitiated might be welcome!
It really feels a mix between Reigns and a settlement management!
I really liked how the building and narrative events intertwine.
Art style and sound works very well, even if the music can be a bit repetitive.
Great job for a JAM! I really liked the art, the setting, and the pixel art. I truly felt immersed with the characters in a survival situation. The final animation when you die is awesome and scary. I made it to year 12, but then my crew’s morale dropped too much and they just started fighting xD hahaha.
Although I didn’t fully understand what to build at the start and just went with my intuition, I later found the dialogues with the characters and being able to choose the best option very cool. Very interesting. Nice day!
I absolutely LOVE the atmosphere of this game! It's very unsettling, like being trapped in a submarine underwater, and that adds a lot to the experience. I wasn't quite sure what resources to prioritize so I just built what seemed cool to me but I still got eaten lol (loved that death animation tho). My favorite part were the characters and the dialogue, the art for them was amazing and I felt like each one had their own voice and personality, which is astounding considering this is a jam! Overall, amazing work!!
This is a cool concept! I liked trying to predict which resources would be taken up, and seems like I was wrong most of the time haha. Since I didn't actually know how the game worked at first, I kinda just built some of everything, not knowing what to prioritize. Not too sure how that could be adjusted, but just a thought. Otherwise, a cool take on the theme and the death animation was really fun to see!
I love management games, here it is like Reigns if I remember correctly, great job!
I love the game atmosphere and unique pixel art style. It could be a decent apocalypse visual novel with light survival building gameplay. Just a bit confuse of how the game play, but overall is a pretty nice game.
Loved the music and background art. Unfortunately, because the game isn't fullscreen and doesn't capture your mouse, there was some jankiness where my cursor was offset, and I couldn't click near the edges of the game. Loved the CRPG vibes, and the different events that would come up were *great*. The game had a ton of character to it. Good stuff!
Great game ! gameplay was amusing and the idea is quite original :)
Uhm.. That was epic 5/5/5
This kind of game is right up my alley! I loved the writing and the premise, though I do think the formatting makes it slightly harder to read text with more than one character, and the aesthetic is oddly nostalgic (big Fallout vibe). I would happily pay to have this as a full game, especially as the core gameplay loop is very addictive. There's also a shocking amount of events, especially for a jam game, though it does get a little repetitive after year 20ish. I think the actual shipbuilding could use some more restrictions for balance purposes, and there's one or two events I would also consider rebalancing (the distress signal one where you can choose whether or not to bring on more passengers ended literally all of my runs. though I suppose that might also be appropriate punishment for being immoral), but all around this is an amazing game! The whole team should feel proud of themselves (:
Thank you !!! Luckily (or unluckily) those are definitely issues that we didn’t have enough time to resolve, but overall we got a nice little outcome. Can you believe that’s only about half of the scenarios we came up with lol. We appreciate the feedback, stay immoral!
Cool aesthetics. I didn't expect such a good writing. Great job
Thank you so much! Unfortunately we didn’t have time to add in some of the lore-based scenarios but I’m definitely proud of what we ended up with :)
Really cool concept! Reminds me of some older text based games that I used to play. The art and music really helped set the tone. Good work!
Maan, that looks so cool! Can you upload linux/web build?
Super cool. I really like the aesthetics. Well written too. Easy to lose though, I didn't realize for my first few runs that I could build multiple modules. When I eventually made a huge colony it lasted just about as long, ha.
