I love the pip-boy style interface. The gameplay reminds me of Papers please.

Really cool idea, love this kind of game! multiple endings are rare in this kind of events, good job on managing this! :D

Wow, really creative take on the theme! Love the retro visuals and the interactions with the environment! Awesome job!

Really makes you feel like you're working an office job. Very atmospheric setting although it was a bit hard to read the cards at times.

Simple but interesting. The lights hurt my eyes a bit, but overall, it's cool.

Really creative take on scale, although it does take a flexible definition of "built" lol. This is a fun take on Papers, Please although I didn't really figure out what the SCALE stats even meant, I pretty much just used the ID system to see if they are admitted or not lol. I enjoy the sounds you made for the laptop and typing like that does make you feel like you're on a cool scifi terminal. I wish there was any kind of music or more ambient sound design than beep boops (maybe there is and I just can't hear off my laptop speakers at work). I imagine this took a fair bit of work to make as a solo dev, and I saw in the credits how your laptop broke mid jam. That's dedication! Great job.

really cool game love the art and the story

Here from your reddit post.
Good execution for a simple concept. Although i don't think you've built anything revolutionary here.
Lighting is a little off making things hard to read, Also feel fairly purposeless as a player.
Could be an interesting concept to develop further if you can tie it together in a full 'loop' and add some solid narative.
Good effort!

Thanks for the review dude..

What you said is true..maybe I'll try to just get a full free itch release

I like the idea of the game and enjoy "desk job" games. I would improve the clarity of the id as in the lighting it was tricky to see the letters sometimes. worth polishing up and going further with

Developer

Yeah I'm thinking of adding a brightness adjuster in game

Thanks for playing and for the feedback!!!

That's exactly what every game developer wishes their players would say

Thanks!

This is the first time I've seen an apocalypse setting in this jam. I think the eerie atmosphere is really impressive.

Thanks!

It's so surprising to see such a unique style game in 96h.  The completion is high, and have a potential to be a full game. The only thing bother me is the dark ID card, which I know is a part of game atmosphere. Love the game!

Developer

Thanks for playing

I think adding a brightness controller in the game would be good idea.

A really unique take on the theme, the story sounds like it could be set in the post among us world, where security checks have been increased to prevent any more "accidents" :D

Thanks for playing!!!

The art is amazing! I agree it is very Papers please-style like. The ID is very hard to read and some characters are very ambiguous due to which I have to run a scan multiple times before I get it correct.

Once polished, this will be an interesting choice though!

I like your unusual take on the theme too :)

Developer

Thanks for playing!!

Yesh I thought many people will be doing the scale yourself puzzles and scaling up something so I tried something different

And I kind of wanted to make a dark game before the jam so...

Very impressed how cohesive and polished the game looks! Great job on setting the atmosphere and story. I think hard-to-read IDs added something for me, like they are captcha and you are trying to solve it, and when scanner returns data, you are always second-guessing if you just mistyped some characters, or ID was really invalid. Plays well into the atmosphere.

Developer

Thanks for playing d for the feedback!!

Glad you liked it!

Interesting “papers please” style, and its a very clever take on the theme. Really cool, congrats!

A very cool spin on the theme that takes what works so great from Papers Please and adds the whole scale system. I really like it and wish I could play more but unfortunately my eyes are struggling after trying to read those IDs. If a patch ever gets made to increase the game brightness a bit more (or just the ids are a big brighter/there's a light feature for it) i'll def revisit to play all the way through. Great work on the style and vibes though! nailed it :)

Developer

Thanks for the feedback!!

i was going for a dark atmosphere but i guess i went a bit overkill  lol...

i'll improve that and also make the font on the screen and on the id same for more clarity!!

No worries haha, I really dig dark atmospheres but I think maybe it's also just the time of day I'm playing. I'm sure it wouldn't be a problem if I was playing in a darker environment lol :p will revisit the game tn maybe and see if it's better :p

Interesting concept, reminiscent of Papers, Please but in a sci-fi setting. If you're thinking of expanding this game later on, having the different characters appear on screen would be more impactful to the gameplay. Seeing someone directly hits differently than reading a sad note.

I really liked the keyboard sound effect! However, I had to squint real close to the screen to see some of the characters on the ID so I don't know if I got the "invalid ID" message because the ID was fake or if I had made a typo!

Good concept overall, worth an expansion.

yeah went a bit over the top with the darkness lol...i'll fix it post jam

A nice game that simulates the role of a bureaucrat, approving or denying passengers on a ship as the world is ending, based on specific criteria for approval. I really liked it! The only thing that bothered me a little was that the identification on the cards was not so easy to read, as they were a bit dark. But I understand that’s part of the gameplay and the realism behind it, lol. Good job! As someone who loves games that simulate old computers and their aesthetics, I found the sound design to be very good and immersive. Go check that game out!

Thanks!!
