In a world of no elbows and knees, very interesting choice of art style!

This is how you can step on your own feet to fly

Omg such a lovely game, and the mechanics are spot on!!

The controls can be a little janky at times, but i had a great experience with this! and it oozes charm too haha

Amazing job!

Very cool game. I like the art style, it's something I have never come across before. Great job.

This main character is scary but I love it. Great style and an interesting idea.  The music/sfx are really great as well. It really seems perfectly polished. Amazing work!

Submitted

yeah this guy creeps me out but damn do I love it when he got the long legs on

Developer

I'm glad the homunculus resonated with you

Amazing style and interesting idea, what a great combo! One of the best games I seen so far. Nice work! Suggestion regarding platforming it is a bit annoying when character sticks to the platform, it can be fix setting friction to 0 on unity physics material 2d.

Developer

I'm glad you liked it! It's been a while since I made a platformer character, and I decided to largely rely on the built in physics system for the collisions. I thought that the friction was an unavoidable consequence of that--I'm glad there's an easy fix after all!

Submitted

Really neat puzzle vibe! I like the art style alot and the music is sweet. I feel like it was a bit tedious at times to move platforms, but great work!

Submitted

Clever idea and unique artstyle ! Hope you had fun making this one !

Love the puzzler you got going. Think my only feedback with these types of puzzle games for jams is the hints. I got stuck on the puzzle with the different-sized feet and the gap in the middle. Could not figure out how to position the block after a good amount of time playing. Other than that, the style, the music, the vibe...all immaculate. I loved how the music would change depending on the foot you were on.

Good stuff!

I'm glad you liked it! If you couldn't beat that level, were you at least able to find the level select and skip past it? There's a pause button in the bottom left that will let you access all the levels freely. As for the level you're talking about (level 7), you need to jump off of the big foot to reach the goal, but you need to stop yourself from hitting the ceiling hazard. You need to use that block to either jump from a lower point or block off the ceiling hazard so you can reach the top safely.

ooooo heard, I did not notice. Coming back now to play some more levels

Very interesting game mechanics
Developer

Thank you!

Games looks nice, plays nice, and has a nice concept! overall a very nice experience!

The controls are a bit quirky but the idea is interesting and the art is nice and unique, congratulations :)

Developer

Thanks! I think the block movement is probably the first thing I'd work on post-jam... It can be a bit finicky/exploitable.

Submitted

What a cool concept! Graphics are bizarre (in a good way) but they work really well! Puzzles are also quite clever and fun to solve :)

Some feedback, in case it helps: I had some small issues that broke the flow of the game when moving blocks around. Placing blocks below me while jumping was particularly hard (maybe it was not the intended solution but I did that to complete a few puzzles). Nothing major tho!

Developer(+1)

Thanks, I'm glad you found the puzzles engaging! Yeah, there are some levels where you need to place blocks beneath you while jumping/airborne, but you should never need to jump off of a block and grab it again while airborne, if that's what you mean. The arm/block movement is definitely something I'd like to improve!

The art style was a little bit weird but in a good way. It was not the usual graphics you would expect from a 2d platformer kind of game, but I found them charming. The different ways the character can move and grab (longer hands, big shoes etc) were a nice addition to the game and made the levels have variety. The grabbing mechanic sometimes felt a little bit laggy, but overall it worked great! The music was very nice. Good job!

Developer

Thank you! Yeah, the hand movement sometimes seemed laggy to me in testing... I just have them track the mouse cursor at a fixed speed in an update loop, so the hand speed might be tied to the framerate.

I adore the art style and sound design. It's like kind of creepy but in a cozy way? The concept of the different limbs scaling to tweak your movement is a great idea, although I found a few of the levels fairly tedious. It felt I was fighting against the movement more than solving puzzles a lot of the time. I think if you expedited moving the obstacles around and focused more on using the unique features of each level to come up with clever puzzles it would improve the experience. Wonderful job!

Developer

Thank you! I honestly wasn't sure if people would be put off by character or the music. I was worried it might be too weird/intense looking, since I usually make cute pixel art games for the GMTK jams. I do wish I had set aside more time for polishing the grabbing controls, though.

Submitted

such a fun and fresh concept! I love the art style and this funny little dude :)

Developer

Thanks! I originally just drew him with a simple cartoon face, but the poses I drew him in reminded me of the Vitruvian Man drawing, so I just got the idea to give him that sort of stern expression.

Submitted

As a tall person I have long understood that longer legs means faster walk, and I love to see a game that validates that. Very stylish game, I loved the dynamic soundtrack!

Developer

Thank you! The song I used was "Jump Into Art" by Serat on Free Music Archive. FMA has carried me musically through every GMTK jam I've participated in, honestly. The music was also programmed to have some stereo pan left and right when you grab something with the respective hand, but I couldn't get that to work in the WebGL build.

Submitted

Love the idea, although I quickly discovered you could jump and grab the block you're standing on to climb vertically :3

Developer

I kind of can't believe I didn't try that myself... Thank you for pointing that out!

Submitted

Neat idea! Puzzle games that require ome back and forth heat up the brain better than straightforward ones, and this is one of them. Fitting art style, too. Good job!

Developer

Thanks! I'm glad you liked the puzzles!
