The toy car is super cute and fits the game's atmosphere so well.
The core gameplay is also on point. Excellent!!!
So glad you enjoyed! Thanks for playing!
This game is so well made! The car feels really nice to control.
Thanks! Really happy with how the controls turned out!
Love the level design and controls! The upbeat music also fits really well!
Thank you! I'm glad you had fun with it!
Game remind me of game from my childhood by I can't remember what it was called but it was really fun to play. Controls are smooth and polished. Art is really good. Good game, congrats!
I'm glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for playing :)
i REALLY like this game. especially as a 3d artist, it is so damn cool seeing the stuff made for this game. i'm pretty much convinced to try making 3d pixel art models.
You absolutely should! Lowpoly/3D pixel is such a fun medium to create with, and it helps that it's so accessible and easier to make assets for. Glad you enjoyed the game! :)
How is this possible to make so much 3D with a render as good as this one !? Really really love the style !
Thank you!! Peachanas' furniture pack did much of the heavy lifting, and what assets we did create were re-used generously throughout the entire game. It let us spend less time on producing more objects, and focus more on the systems, sounds, and fun factor!
Oh I hate this clockwork mechanic so much, please make it normal car controls😭
Sorry to hear you didn't jive with it, but I don't think the game would have been as interesting with normal controls.
Really love the concept! Nicely executed too!
Thank you for the kind words! :)
Impressive, fun and frustrating!
Thanks for playing and glad you enjoyed! Would you say it was too frustrating, or did you enjoy the difficulty?
I enjoyed it, it help massively that you can press R to reset to checkpoint!
We were hoping the checkpoint system would soften any frustrating blows, so I'm glad to hear that worked!
This game was a blast! The car design made me remind of childhood.
Happy you enjoyed it! We were hoping the game would feel nostalgic to play. :)
This is so fun! You nailed the feeling of pulling the car back and watching it soar, also the way the car tilts up when you slam on the brakes is 10/10. Insanely well polished too, with good music as well (reminds me of the Toy Story 2 Game OST). Amazing work for 4 days!!
Thanks a lot, and glad you had fun! Toy Story 2 PSX was definitely an inspiration for the gameplay and level design, but the music was mainly inspired by ChoroQ/Road Trip Adventure. :)
Ahh cool! The soundtrack really fits the vibe, so good choice!
Very nice art style. You missed a chance to have it as a html5 page.
Thank you! Browser playable would definitely have been neat if we had more time. Not sure how performance would have looked, so we didn't this time.
really cool take, and i loved how you pull back the car to make it go! my only minor gripe is that i wish the charge was mapped to S instead of W because i caught myself trying to press S trying to charge up. otherwise really fluid controls and car physics, the sound design feels so right, and i love the mechanic! will definitely be playing till i get all 200 coins!
You're not the first to ask, so we'll definitely add an option to swap the buttons in our planned post-jam update! Glad you enjoyed, and good luck on the 200 grind!
Very cool game, only suggestion I have to make is that you could be able to charge up speed (very slowly) while accellerating so longer distances dont feel quite as stop and start. That, and the graphics broke a bit second time I booted it up, had permanent dark lines across the screen. Regardless, very fun collectathon, and a lovely style!
Thanks for the feedback, and sorry about the graphics problem; we'll look into it. Glad you had fun!
Love the idea for the controls, but it make it really hard sometime !
I wanted the jet booster so bad but I'm just not strong enough....117 coins.
A very well made game that puts you in control of a little toy car and asks you to do all the things cars are not very good at. Very nuanced controls but not something I'm sure I can come back to, can definitely get pretty tedious but that's probably a skill issue on my part.
Some of the falls did get audible reactions out of me for what its worth though lol
Also, love the effect of the car almost tipping over when you brake!
Hahaha, sorry for any rage moments. Appreciate you playing it, rittz, thanks!
That was awesome the art was really good, I liked the music and it reminded me a lot of Toy Commander. I kind of wished braking just paused your energy bar thing instead of depleting it but very cool! :)
Thanks, and glad you enjoyed it!
Very clever idea, love the art!
Thanks!
Interesting mechanic with the pull back. The control of the car was also well done. Nice!
Thank you! :)
Easily one of the most well made games of this jam. I actually spend a lot of time getting all coins to afford the jet engine because the world is just that much fun to explore. My only complaint is that when you do unlock it, there isn't really anything left to do, which is a shame since it completely changes the way you control the car. Also, the amount of amenities, like mouse speed etc is great.
Thank you so much! We'd like to add a little more in the way of activities in a post-jam update, so that'll hopefully give completionists like you more to sink your teeth into with the jet engine. Glad you had fun! :)
