How does your game fit the theme?
'Banana for Scale' is 'Built to Scale'! Our hapless museum guard monkey must use his trusty Measuring Banana to compare the sizes of various art exhibits, to search for sneaky fakes. With only some approximate banana-scale notes to go on, careful comparison of exhibits of all scales and sizes is key!

Cool concept! Unfortunatly I had a bug where i dont have the 'fake' button on almost all of the artifacts
Ah, there only is one fake so you can only apply one sticker! There was originally a plan to provide difficulty levels with different numbers of fakes but that was phased out - the opening dialogue should always specify that there is one fake anyway.
Thank you for playing!
What a strange and interesting take on the theme, and I love it. Pretty impressive and high quality for a game jam!
Thank you very much! Glad our work came through in the quality of the result!

The style is very nice, the concept is very creative as well. Really liked it!
Thank you! Glad you liked the style and the idea!
Really impressive art and a fun concept! The measuring was kind of tedious, though, especially since the slightest flick of the mouse sent my banana spinning wildly, and if I was trying to spin the banana and the mouse moved slightly offscreen, it immediately stopped spinning and began scrolling. But the art and the level of polish on this game was really impressive!
Thank you, very glad you liked the art! Ideally we would have had a little more time to finesse the banana measuring but I think at least the heart of the idea comes through - glad you enjoyed everyone's hard work!
i cant belive how you managed to do it in 4 days when my team could barely finish ours
Haha it certainly wasn't easy - we scraped the final submission over the line for sure, and if it had been the old 48 hour format we'd have barely had the thing off the ground!
Awesome concept, really really nice art. Like others I did find the mouse banana comparison controls a challenge.
Thank you very much, glad you really liked the art! The banana is definitely a bit tricky - I don't think I've won a game yet xD
Fun concept and reference!
I did find myself just using my actual hand to measure though, the clicking and spinning was a little difficult.
Thank you! I worked hard to come up with all the art pastiches and puns xD
Yeah, the banana handling requires a deft touch - goodness knows I haven't got one!
Love the writing, art, music, and the blend of platformer with the main gameplay!
I would have prefered if the banana direction was 90° from what it is now, would be more intuitive to point in the direction you want to mesure.
Ah, and love the bananas of course (we nearly took the same game name before seeing 10 more and promptly changing x'D)
Banana games! Banana games! Banana games!
Very glad you enjoyed all the elements!
This is the best idea ever!!! fun game, great art, great sounds. but mannn the banana! GJ! :)
Thank you - very glad you enjoyed it!
I love the concept and the art, but i didn't realise that there was art off to the left and above. The banana for scale mechanic is a bit fiddly and my first measurements were off as I wasn't holding it to them. Still fun though!
Glad you enjoyed! Yes, I'm a little sad my boy Cicero, I mean Chimpero, is off in the gods like that xD
Nice concept
Thank you!
Really fun concept, gorgeous art all around, great atmosphere! Also lovely humour and easter bananas! :D
I didn't like the banana scaling mechanic. Felt too fiddly compared to what it would be like in real life. (The idea of it is fun, though!)
Thank you - very glad you liked the art, and my dodgy sense of humour and art puns xD
The banana scaling is definitely a bit tricky - we worked on it right to the death, but it did take a while for us to figure out what the central mechanic should even be xD
The art in this game is fantastic for a jam game. A really funny concept as well. Unfortunately I found the spinning of the banana to be quite fiddly and hard to get it in the direction needed.
Thank you - very glad you enjoyed the art! The banana is definitely tricky, I'm no great use at it myself xD
Getting the scale is hard, but I really love the movement of the PC. The ceiling grab took a bit to figure out, but it’s really satisfying once i did.
Thank you! Yes - when I first did a playtest at like, 4:30 on the Tuesday, I was messaging the programmer and game designer like 'might just be my bad platforming skills but I can barely use the ceiling grab' xD
Works well, pretty difficult I have to be honest, but very polished all around. Really good art too, both the measuring part and the platforming part.
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed the work everyone put in, including my paintings and Beowulf's sprites!
the game is a really fun concept, but it kinda broke for me and all the information about the arts was black and i had to guess what was fake
the concept is a really cool interpretetion of the theme. i liked it very much
Oh dear, how odd!
I'm the artist not the programmer, so I guess all I can ask is did you play in browser or on desktop? And when you say they were blacked out - was the whole clipboard asset just completely black?
Glad you liked our interpretation!
yea i played on browser, and the whole clipboard was just a black square for me. tho the first one i saw was fine so idk man hope you figure it out
Apparently it's a HTML memory issue, so restarting the browser game can work!
ok cool awesome
This was awesome I loved it, the art was amazing and the concept itself was really good, but a personal problem for me was that I struggled to use the bananas spinning gripping I wasn't able to rly understand it, the awesome descriptions were really cool and the platforming part is amazingly well done.
Thanks for playing! I'm glad you liked the art xD
This is such a delightful concept, and the ability to grip and spin the banana is surprisingly immersive. Very fun!
Glad you enjoyed it!
