Managed to finish the final level after taking it reaaaaallly slowly.
Having different abilities in the two modes worked well and they made sense based on the character size. Liked the animation between the two scales too!
The text was really bright against the dark background and sometimes got in the way. Also nit-picking but having the character default to gnome mode after every reset got annoying.
Did liked the graphics, concept is a bit obvious but good implementet. The gameplay is unforgiving so I dropped the game on the Patient level. Still very nice.
thanks for the review! patient level was the last one, so never give up!
Concept is really good, the gameplay is done well, and I like that the sprite for the main character actually changes! Really nice execution of a good idea
Nice concept!
Got stuck on the two elevators, but nice concept and execution.
Nice lighting and textures! Sadly I couldn't complete the game the elevator level was a bit too hard for me. A bit too precise movement. Liked the fact that you can change the size and break boxes with it.
Very polished game and owned the assignment! well done!
I enjoyed this quite a bit. Great game!
Really liked the gameplay! Couldn't get further than the 'you can double jump' level but maybe that was because i couldnt use control in the browser? Anyhow, fun game!
The movement was kinda hard to control but the different characters mechanics were cool
I liked how you used the theme. It's challenging, but still well balanced. Glowing resources make me want to break stones and collect them :)
I enjoyed the mechanics and style of the game, jumping felt a bit too floaty in my opinion. I think the level design could have done with being smaller, especially on the earlier levels since it ended up feeling far too open and didn't compliment the tightness of the mechanics very well. Overall a good concept tho, great work!
I like the atmosphere of the game. The lighting and the art matches well. Overall nice gameplay, and the little puzzles are great. The difficulty level increase is a little bit skewed in the beginning, but after that it increases nicely. I stopped at the elevator level, as I couldn't get past the second elevator without getting hit by the spikes.
One tip: games like these rely on the speed of being able to start over when you die. The character starting in big mode and then shrinking down to gnome takes away a lot of this speed. Being able to immediately continue walking when you die (ala Super Meatboy) would be a huge improvement, imo!
Decent platformer, bonus points for gnomes. I stopped at the patience level, as I have no patience. Lighting and vfx were nice, and gameplay felt very reminiscent of classic platformer flash games.
Nice precision platformer, there were some really great segment sin there. I think how you chose to implement the theme is pretty interesting, and was done very effectively. My obvious concern with a stop n swap like mechanic for scale would be that one would lose momentum, however having the focus on size shifting to how you navigate the spaces immediately at hand kept things remarkably engaging . Also well done making death easy while not making it a momentum killer. Really solid game, my only feedback is that I think visually the game might be a bit too dark. I at times had trouble seeing the spiky things.
Great work!
Really cool visuals! Love the animations and the utilization of the different forms.
Nice utilization of the theme! Good job :)
Really good use of effects and lighting. control are pretty stiff though
I like the look of the glowing ore/jewels in the walls. :)
