Congrats on finishing your game!

The sprites and music in this game are phenomenal. Truly spectacular. The enemies are punny and goofy and I love them. The lil faces on all the food is a nice touch, too. And that music is a BOP.

So this is a "deck builder" where you can play any card in your deck as long as you can get to it. That's a pretty neat take. And I'm sure it'd be an great full release with enough time to polish and refine. As is, this just felt overwhelming to play. Having my whole deck, plus learning all the stats and unique names, and learning the game was far too much to learn in one go. This would have greatly benefitted from more onboarding, such as the first enemy being a tutorial with a limited board to attack with. Level 1 only has 9 plates in a 3x3 or something, level 2 introduces more concepts and gives you a 4x4, etc. And then on top of all that, I was immediately asked to make decisions about long term strategy and deck composition, which I felt unequipped to answer.

I come from a board game background, so I love seeing video game adapt or draw from physical games. The card grid and movement here feels like familiar territory, and ripe for design exploration. Makes me want to play around in this space, too!

Overall, a very cool (if ambitious) entry. Keep up the awesome work, and keep making games!

What a comment, thank you for all these feedback.

I totally agree with you about the tutorial, and the idea you proposes to reduce the plates seems like the way to go.

It was an hard choice, but maybe not a wise one, that we used this short amount of time on the deepness of the game(artefacts, cards, monsters) rather than on a tutorial.

This ambitious choice came from the fact that we wanted to make a game with a scale that could go beyond the specter of this gamejam. As you noticed it.

We were just simply not good enough to design and code in time, something that would onboard people correctly, with a game of this scale. We will definetly work to improve on that point in the future.

Thanks again, have a nice day !

Loved the animation for the characters in this game!! The designs were so imaginative and had a very unique style. I'm a big fan of strategy games, so I like having to plan out the best route in order to get the dishes I need. Playing it on browser, my screen was a bit too big, so I had to scroll over to loo at the cholesterol bar, so I think you could maybe add a visual indicator of the king becoming full (maybe he gets a lil bigger). But overall, amazing work!!

Cool game very stylish, I think the rules could be refined a bit and the scaling theme could be emphasised a bit more but pretty polished

The style of this game is truly unique, every screen is full of art, with a unique art style and fine details that make it stand out!!

This is really cool game the animation look AMAZING!!! All the art is looking so good amazing job. i had few problems like I didnt understand at first how to play the expnation in the touturial was too long for me, i wish the game would teach me as i play the game but this is a game jam so i get it but for next game i think it can be better. and i have same problems with the UI elements (i have really width screen), they didn't fit well on my screen...
I think u can fix it if u would change the "Canvas Scaler" to "Scale with Screen Fit" and then u will write the resulotion you test the game with and then make sure the match slidder will be all the way to the Height couse in comupter games u want the game will fit to the Height and not the Width couse the Widht in must cases are the game.

Sorry for the long replay... but you have really good game

Thank you for this feedback, I totally agree about the tutorial.
We were full focus on the core mechanics and put aside, something simple but yet really important, to make people understand the game easily and fast, we will totally give it more importance in the next jams !

On the UI, we used constant pixel sized, I will try  to use scale with screen size, and see what happens !

Thanks again, I wish you the best

The art is so great (especially the enemies) - I loved the mix of the mechanics here, balancing this kind of game will always be hard, so good job on finishing it haha

Developer(+1)

I'm really happy you like it, on your side you made such a great game, congrats !

Oh, thanks!! 😁

this game oozes with personality, especially love the art, music, and sfx!

Very interesting mechanic with a really goofy unique artstyle, really cool! Having a more clear indication of the carryover effects of certain foods (i.e. how much damage will my next attack deal since it got scaled by 30%) would be useful as I often lost track. Really well polished, and very fun!

The art style and the music are pretty cool.

We can see that the game has been well designed on a mechanic that seems simple at first but just as complex with a multitude of combo possibilities.

very good and fun game with replayability

Love the art style.

Look forward to see where you take this next.

I finished the game, I played it more than once, really enjoyed it. Ps: Cholesterol build with camember is OP.

Goofy and juicy art! It looks really polished!
I really wanted it to work with WASD key, though! >.<

Developer

Thanks, this compliment is a blessing when it comes from someone who pushed a really polished and cool game like yours !

The game is so polished and has fun gameplay! I also really like that the text you included suits the theme well. Actually, everything fits so well with each other. Great job!

I'll never eat food the same way now ahah. The idea is very unique and cool, GG !

creative art style and gameplay loop, enjoyed the concept. like others though, even in full screen i felt like there were parts of the game i wasn't seeing.

Developer

Thank you for your answer, we noticed that the game isn't working correctly on Laptops, we implemented the tutorial on screenshots so people can see it

Developer

We found a solution !!  And we put it on our description :

When full screen, press "Control -" to zoom our your navigator and zoom out the game to see all the elements !

Can you please play the game again ?

After zooming out, and finding the tutorial it made playing the game much better. Great work!

really fun gameplay loop with hardly any negatives, definitley would love to see this expanded upon

Loved this game, the art was super cute or funny, and the cholesterol mechanic was clever. Only thing for me is that the tutorial & deck buttons were mostly covered (even in fullscreen) so I didn't know they existed until reading other comments.

Developer

I think the problem is that the WebGL build is acting weird. It works on 1920x1080 screens but not when the resolution is smaller.

We saw you posting on the discord, we loved the graphics (special mention for the camembert) :)

Sadly we didn't find the gameplay  very intuitive and struggled a bit to figure it out

Developer(+1)

Hey, thanks for the feedback! Super happy you liked the graphics (the camembert is definitely the MVP 🤩)! Did you notice there’s a tutorial button at the bottom left? Might help clear things up a bit! Thanks again for checking out the game 😊.
