I beat all the levels. The game physic is a bit weird don't know if it was intentional or not, but I can climb the wall. The enemies got stuck in the wall sometimes. But great idea overall, need some polishing and it will be great.
looks like that's your first Game Jam, there's so many ideas for your game, keep going
Nice idea! It would be great if the enemies stayed higher up so you can use them as platforms!
I'm not even sure how you were supposed to get past the first level? The monsters would stay too low to the ground to be of any use >.< But it's a good idea, definitely a clever interpretation of the theme.
I was confused too, the shockwave ability seems to push enemies back allowing you to try and position them. But it’s really tough when you only get one chance to position them correctly before having to restart the entire level. Love the concept though, would like to see it taken further.
The main mechanic is interesting enough to make for a good game.
Others mentioned looking up common platformer mechanics.
This interactive video essay might be a good start: https://gmtk.itch.io/platformer-toolkit
The level order is fine. I like that different enemies spawn different platforms.
I wish there was some way to recover from bad placements other than starting again.
Making the summoned platforms turn back into enemies after a couple of seconds might be a solution to this.
This could also spice up the mechanics even further with linked enemies, where only one can be a platform at a time.
There is a lot that you could do with this mechanic. Given the time frame of this jam it's cool how much you were able to accomplish.
needs a lot of work, but it's not the worst idea I've ever seen, and certainly a unique take on the theme. perhaps look into some of the idiomatic features in good platformer games—missing them makes a game feel really floaty and hard to control for encultured players.
I understand the idea, but it's being held back by the bugs in the game. The enemies being forced to stay on screen causes them to get stuck in walls, you can essentially climb up walls by clipping into them, etc. I feel like with better enemy AI, snappier gameplay and better maps, this could be a really great game!
Difficulty were hard. Idea is great and inspiring. It would be better if start with easier levels and get harder gradually.
yoooow !
i like the idea, although the controls were difficult and the bots were difficult to get in place
The controls are yanky and it is a very difficult game. But I like the creative idea behind it.
It's an alright game, but the physics feel weird and the enemy is weirder. The idea is great.
Platforming is restricting and floaty, Enemy AI is wack. Otherwise a cool mechanic, Some touch ups need to be made but otherwise a solid game.
plateforming is a bit floaty and unclear what the puzzle is.
It's an interesting concept but does not give you enough information to start with - I refreshed the page to restart a level but realised you can with by pressing ESC, but that's not mentioned. I played a bit more and saw the potential, it's definitely a creative idea. I like the bouncepad guys.
I couldnt get past the first level it was really hard. The concept is original and good but im unsure where the scale factor comes into play. The level is softlocked if you dont shoot the enemies perfectly. Other than that the art style is pretty good along with the music. Good Work!
Nice idea about morphing the enemies into platforms!
I'm really sorry, but I couldn't get past the first few platforms. It's a shame because the concept is truly original!
Interesting concept with enemies turning into platforms. However, since the enemies don’t respawn, if you shoot them in the wrong place, you can softlock the level.
Very interesting idea. Unfortunately, the game is a bit buggy. The player can walljump and enemies can push each other making aiming difficult. Nonetheless, I see potential in this concept. I find games where enemies have double purpose quite interesting. I hope this project will see some further development!
It’s a cool idea to have enemies turn into the platforms you need when they die. It reminds me of some of the ghost enemies from Mario Sunshine who turn into big blocks to use as platforms. Nice work!
