BEAUTIFUL STYLE!

Took a little while for me to get your design intention and restart the level to solve the puzzle but you have a nice concept. And the controls can be improved

Submitted

The concept is really nice! I think the only thing I have is the movement: it's not really responsive and getting stuck on walls is kind of unnatural. Other than that, I really enjoyed all the levels! Good job on the game

Submitted

The concept makes it a nice puzzle platformer, but the movement felt a bit too "sticky" for my taste.

Smart concept, but it needs some more polish

PRetty cool idea but I could not play it. I tried th first level about 6 times and when I got over the first overhang I thought I had figured it out, then realised I needed the second bug for a later bit of the level. Attempted it again and I coudln't keep the other bug alive without it killing me. Maybe it's just a skill issue.

Cool ideas. I think the foundation for a very fun game is here which just needs some more polish to really stand out!

Interesting concept, game-play is bit too difficult. If you work on this a bit more, I think a really good game will come out of this.

Cool concept, but a bit tough. Good visuals too.

Cute character and interesting concept but I'd say it felt a little difficult right off the bat; I wasn't able to guide the enemies to the right spot to create platforms so I got stuck very early. Some fine tuning or different mechanic to guide the enemies would be interesting!

nice game bro I really enjoy it and I finish it in 5 min I hop that you put a speed run option soon

Really cute pixel art!

Interesting idea but too difficult, if you kill an enemy in the wrong spot you have to start again. A cool idea would be to be able to use the shockwave on dead enemies. There is an issue with enemies getting stuck inside platforms, and then being immune to any damage but still with the ability to fire bullets. I couldn't unstuck them even with the shockwave.  For the art style I think the robot is very cute :)

I beat all the levels. The game physic is a bit weird don't know if it was intentional or not, but I can climb the wall. The enemies got stuck in the wall sometimes. But great idea overall, need some polishing and it will be great.

looks like that's your first  Game Jam, there's so many ideas for your game, keep going

Submitted(+1)

Nice idea! It would be great if the enemies stayed higher up so you can use them as platforms!

Submitted(+1)

I'm not even sure how you were supposed to get past the first level? The monsters would stay too low to the ground to be of any use >.< But it's a good idea, definitely a clever interpretation of the theme.

I was confused too, the shockwave ability seems to push enemies back allowing you to try and position them. But it’s really tough when you only get one chance to position them correctly before having to restart the entire level. Love the concept though, would like to see it taken further.

The main mechanic is interesting enough to make for a good game.

Others mentioned looking up common platformer mechanics.
This interactive video essay might be a good start: https://gmtk.itch.io/platformer-toolkit

The level order is fine. I like that different enemies spawn different platforms.
I wish there was some way to recover from bad placements other than starting again.

Making the summoned platforms turn back into enemies after a couple of seconds might be a solution to this.
This could also spice up the mechanics even further with linked enemies, where only one can be a platform at a time.

There is a lot that you could do with this mechanic. Given the time frame of this jam it's cool how much you were able to accomplish.

needs a lot of work, but it's not the worst idea I've ever seen, and certainly a unique take on the theme.  perhaps look into some of the idiomatic features in good platformer games—missing them makes a game feel really floaty and hard to control for encultured players.

I understand the idea, but it's being held back by the bugs in the game. The enemies being forced to stay on screen causes them to get stuck in walls, you can essentially climb up walls by clipping into them, etc. I feel like with better enemy AI, snappier gameplay and better maps, this could be a really great game!
