I enjoyed the creativity and art. I also loved the sounds the main character makes when they shoot!

Developer

The sounds the character makes when shooting is made from an otamatone, fun fact. We're glad you enjoyed it and thanks for playing!

I really liked the mix of 2D and 3D! The boss at the end was awesome too!

Developer

yeah im glad the 2.5D style worked and blended well :)

Developer

Funny how we expected more people to be disgusted by the boss's appearance than appreciating it lmao. Thanks for playing, we're super glad you enjoyed the game!

Great stuff, the character is super adorable, especially with rapid fire, very honky.

Developer

Our artist had a great time designing the note characters and I had a blast making stupid sounds with an otamatone. Thanks for playing!

I loved this, the cute and derpy charcters, the attacking with music notes, the music was nice too, not too loud. Game felt super polished!

Developer

This game is a short, sweet, and super fun experience. Loved the sound effects and I could totally see this being a full game. Great stuff!

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much! I might think about experimenting and returning to this when the jam's over, however right now I'm really burned out lol.

That was fun! Here's some feedback:

📈 Improve:

  • The Fire rate felt a bit slow, would have been cool if it synced up to the music playing in the background
  • The screenshake was a little too intense for my liking

🤩 Great:

  • The art style and general ambiance is really cool!
  • The fact you have a boss fight makes this even more impressive

Hope this helps!

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much for the valuable feedback! We definitely tried syncing sounds and firing with music, both harmonically and rhythmically however our composer went ham and made it way too hard for me to figure that out lol.  Screenshake was definitely tuned to my liking, but thanks for letting me know so next time I can add options to disable screenshake.

Thanks so much for playing!

No problem! Yeah the screenshake is much more personal preference so it's not anything game breaking :)

Very fun game with amazing sound and music design. The only issue I found was I couldn't click directly on the buttons instead I had to go to a offset location and click there instead.

Developer

Super sorry about that, my brain was tired and too slow to catch a few of the last minute issues with UI and audiosettings. Thanks for playing!

Very cute and great sound design!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing! We (Mostly I) had a lot of fun with doing the sound design.

Great art but the music absolutely takes the cake. Sounds were terrific too, I couldn't get enough of that fantastic "shoot sound".

In gameplay department - a twin stick shooter with a slight twist.

Good job, though and again - kudos for the musicians/composers ;)

Developer(+1)

I feared a bit on the gameplay part that it would be too bland, so in a way we tried to make up with the game's polishing. I'm super glad you liked the music and SFX! The sounds were a combination of computer generated sounds, a live violin, and an otamatone.

If you liked the music in this game please consider checking out more of our composers work! Thanks for playing!

gud game with guns!

Well done!

Developer(+1)

Haha, the notes would seem pretty menacing if they were holding guns. Thanks for playing!

Pretty nice and straightforward twin stick shooter style game. I like how the enemies can split based on the notes and the sounds was nice.

It was annoying though that the sound settings didn't seem to save between the main menu and in game and back. The limited space and enemy movement styles also meant that I could pretty easily strafe around and kill everything but the boss without a worry.

I was confused at first with the boss as I thought I had to touch the dice to get the change but it seemed to be automatic.

Overall it was a fun, thanks for making it.

If you want check out the game I made with a group please check out https://itch.io/jam/gmtk-jam-2022/rate/1618446

Thanks so much for the feedback! Super sorry about the UI and audio setting bugs, I was so tired I couldn't catch a lot of them.  As for the limited space and movement styles, I'll try to do some experimenting on my own to see if I can make something more fun possibly post-jam.

Again, thanks for playing! I'll check out your game soon.
