Nice game, esthetics on point. The gameplay is quite simple but effective, well done !
TBH it's puzzling at first but fortunately it's not hard to learn the basics.
That being said, it was fun. I got good cards and good strategy so it wasn't a hard thing to defeat the zilla :)
Great game! Godzilla is agood idea, I enjoy this game, Impressive game in such a short time. Great job!
Feel free to check my game if you want to challange your brain muscle!
I love the art! Dicezilla is great, and the cards are all immediately distinct at a glance so I quickly became comfortable assessing my hand and working out a plan for the turn.
Speaking of the cards - I thought that the effects were nicely varied and encouraged mixing up gameplay turn by turn. I really liked the card that would also damage you for the value of a die, as I thought it was a great idea to have an incentive to keep lower value dice around even as I progressed and evolved.
Was nice that it basically had new game + built in! Felt great to restart the battle with my new and improved die ready to go :)
I really enjoyed this game! It's simple, very intuitive, has nice variety for such small and tiny game, and overall just very cool and unique experience.
Thank you for making this game and good job on releasing it! :)
like the aesthetic
Had fun giving this one a go, Dicezilla's attack sound effect absolutely wrecked my ears tho the first time, didn't realise I had my volume on max haha
Happened to me during development more time than you can think of :(
Thank you for playing!
Very creative, I loved it!
It has all that you can ask for: dice, cards, cards that use dice, special effects, and Godzilla.
It's easy to understand, and fun to play.
Visually, it's looking great, it really has a retro vibe.
Excellent submission! =D
Thank you a lot!
Cool game! It was quite hard to understand the interface at first, but when I did, I had some fun experience!
Thank for your feedback : next time I will make a in game tutorial for sure!
Fun game, can't believe it was done in PICO-8!
Thank you!
This is a really cool game, great job!
Thank you for playing!
I struggled a bit understanding the different effects the cards had and how the dice were used. Am I supposed to be able to use the same dice twice in one turn because I think I was able to :) Neat use of PICO-8 for sure
Thank you for your feedback!
Several people struggle to understand all the UI directly and the little tutorial/instruction on the page didn't help.Next time I will do an in game tutorial for sure!
The effect of each card appear on top of the screen when you hover the card. Each [ ] on the instruction are a receptacle for a dice.
You cannot play the dice twice a turn, when you play a dice it disappear. So each turn you have 4 dice to spend on any card you want.
What I meant was that the game allowed me to use the same die on a single turn for an effect that required two dice. I read the descriptions but it was challenging to understand their impact to startegize better :)
Very interesting take on the theme! Well done, had a lot of fun!
Thank you!
This looks amazing :D
Makes me want to get into PICO-8, is it very difficult compared to engines like Unity?
The presentation is so good with the screenshake and all, is it intentional that I can use the same dice for 2 fields in 1 attack tho? Definitely cheesed it a bit with my D8 on those two dice attacks :D
PICO-8 is a lot more "direct" and straightforward and I love that. You can go on the PICO-8 website and I think you can look at any cartridge there to have an idea about the difficulty of the code aspect (there is a little link/button at each cartridge which will show the code).
And yes, the double attack card was intentional to not make the game extra difficult, but now it is maybe too easy :/
edit : and thank you by the way!
There's something so simple and satisfying about this game, I love it.

Thank you!
Too bad you didn't like it :/
As for the topic, in the game you roll a D4 D6 D8 or D10 to attack (D is for dice). It's the basic of table RPG which is play with dice.
Had a lot of fun with this. Would be nice to know what the enemy attack would be so you can plan to defend or heal. Great work!
Good idea! I didn't have time to implement several attack so I didn't look deeply into it (the monster Attack is a d20 attack for info)
Interesting Concept!
Thank you!
Fun game, but had trouble understanding it at first
Thank you for your feedback, I add a mini tutorial and more explanation on the page now
Fun! Although the evolved dice stay there even after you die, is this intended? Either way, i beat the godzilla on the second try and had fun.
ahem not intended :)
I wanted to had difficult level with your starting dice and monster power attack but I didn't have the time, glad this bug help people in the second run !
