simple but effective... well done! Your description reminded me of agario, but it's a different twist. Nice!

Amazingly done! very addictive, and very creative.

The concept of "each attack can change what enemies you can attack next" has a lot of potential.

Hope you keep working on this!!

Cool game and interesting concept! I can tell you put a lot of time into polishing the game! Keep up the good work :)

A simple game with a nice mechanic! I like it so much, good job <3

Damn, such a simple concept with a unique twist ! This is genius, fits the theme perfectly and the quality is awesome ^^ !

My only concern is the animation of the die rolling, I would have enjoyed a real roll, but I guess that, in 2D, it was harder to do successfully, especially in 50h.

Otherwise, it's an insanely good entry, congratulations =)

Developer

Thank you so much! :) A proper rolling animation would've been really sick, yeah, but after one failed prototype I was already super short on time and honestly happy that I managed to finish this game at all. I may add one after the voting period is over though.

I played this roughly two hours now, current high score is 732. Simple but really fun game, especially if you compete with your friends for the highest score. Overall, it looks quite finished an polished!

Wow, 732 - that's amazing! Congratulations!!! Actually... you beat me to it! :D
I managed to score 1019 this morning though, sorry. :D

Nice one! But... I just got 1258 ^_^. Keep on rolling!

I wish the animation for the die rolling actually moved to another side.  As it is, the rotation is confusing and it took me a bit to figure out how to squish the other dice.  But the gameplay balance fits the theme well.  Nicely done!

Developer

Yeah, I would have loved that too! But I'm no artist and was already short on time, so that simple rotation had to suffice. Sorry, if that confused you! I made a note, maybe I'll fix that once the voting period is over.

dude the title screen was awesome! gameplay was simple and fun! i liked this game! great work!!

Developer

Thanks, haha! I got carried away a little when working on the title-screen. :D

Tons of fun! Best game of the jam so far for me (my top score was only 29.something ... I guess that's not so great!)

Developer

Oh wow, thank you for the kind words, that means a ton to me! :) My best score so far was 1019, but well, I'm the developer. :D Super glad you enjoyed it, make sure you give it another try with a controller if you haven't yet – imho it's a lot easier that way!

I like how you can have a "rolling spree" and hit multiple targets with a single roll, which also partially recharges the stamina bar.  It was also a nice touch changing the dice's physical size to match the number.

Developer

Nice catch! :) I was actually afraid that players may not notice these little details, thus also won't make use of them.

Great game!

Very fun game!

Yeah, its pretty fun, quite creative for such a simple idea, the difficulty is raised way too fast though.

Developer (1 edit)

Thanks! Technically the difficulty isn't raised at all though. :D Enemies keep spawning at the exact same rate, so it all comes down to how quick and consistently you're able to get rid of them. It has a pretty steep learning curve, yes, but it's actually pretty easy once you get the hang of it. Take a look at this nine minute run I made today:

Really fun game!

It was pretty fun and had some good music!

Really funny little game !

The instructions in "how to play" has too much text and too much unessesary phrase making me wasting a little more time understanding how to play the game.

But this game can be enjoyable. I like the idea of rolling the dice in this game.

Developer

Admittedly, the "How To Play" section was a last minute addition to the game - and given that, it turned out pretty okay, I think. Thank you for sticking through and giving the game a chance nonetheless. :) That section will likely get an overhaul once the voting period is over.

I found it hard to figure out when to roll when trying to crush another dice. Would like to see the game polished and with a bit more content. Overall, kept me wanting to play!

Developer(+1)

Yeah, the timing of the roll can be pretty relentless! I played this a ton by now and most of my runs still end because I press the roll button a little too late or release it too early. To me that's part of the charm though: like in "Hotline Miami" you know that every hit you take will lose you the game, which makes it all the more satisfying if you manage to achieve a really high score nonetheless.

Submitted

Cool concept with solid execution, though it does get repetitive after a while.

Developer

Thanks! If you had a couple of fun minutes with it, that's all I could wish for in a jam game. :) There's no real difficulty curve yet, enemies keep spawning at precisely the same rate, so it all comes down to how quickly and consistently you're able to get rid of them.
