I had troubles with the hand almost always just throwing one dice, making it very hard to progress, but creative concept and the plattformer controls feels solid!

Developer

oh that is an odd bug

I like the games concept, the implementation for the dice was great

The game has a nice concept, but some things could be made better. I often reset the dice throw, maybe you could add a little timer to make the bell unusable. The platform generation is too slow and too random, sometimes you find yourself throwing and throwing again.

Very fun platformer! It would be nice if the dice showed up faster so I could easily grab the best positions. Besides that, super fun.

Art is great and so is the idea but it took me like 30 tries to get roll good enough to cross the pit (I guess luck was not on my side lol)

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

haha one of the first things im planning to fix with the extended version

Submitted

Nice, Liked the dice implementation ! It would have been great if there were different platforms like d3, d8 , d20 and so on

Really cool mechanics and execution!!!!

Good Game! But I do not really see the point of the numbers on the dice, which I think you should have implemented. Nice art by the way.

Developer

Thank you for your reviews. So the number on the dice is the number of times the player can jump on them before they disappear.

The tutorial was really well done. Interesting game concept, but I don't see the fun of the mechanics in this game. I spent most of my time just waiting for the dice to roll in my favor. Combined with my luck, the animation speed of the dice throw was really annoying. The audio only comes from my left headphone, and that was really weird. Sorry if this comment sounds negative, but I really want to see how you improve the game in the future, since it has such an interesting idea, (if you decide to, of course).

Thank you for the review, don't worry, you did not come across negatively, I really appreciate the feedback. I agree that a lot of time is spent rolling/rerolling the dice, and if I were to go back and change it, I think what I would do is design different patterns for the dice to land in, and then randomly pick between those, that way it could still appear random while giving the player the chance to actually complete the level. Overall thank you for your feedback. I think after this jam is done, I will go back and expand the idea for like a week long project.

Very creative concept. My only constructive criticism is that throwing the dice takes too long, affecting the pacing of the game

Developer(+1)

thank you, I agree there is a pacing problem, something ill aim to fix in the expanded version.

for a long time tossed dice, so options to jump and did not appear

Cool take on the theme. The movement felt a little slippery, and some coyote time might have helped. The audio for some reason only came from my left ear as well, may have been a bug? Fun game otherwise, great job!

Really neat idea! Loved the look of the character and the theming. As for feed back, perhaps there should have been an option to maybe keep one of the dice in position rather than roll all of them as there were moments in Level 3 where one of the dice was in a really good spot but the other weren't. Overall though, really creative and very charming!

Developer

Thank you for the review and your feedback/thoughts., I am glad you liked the aesthetics...you are definitely right, allowing the player to keep the dice could have been such a useful and interesting choice, and would definitely have improved gameplay. Thank you again

Really cool game, loved the idea but personally, I felt like the landing on the jump was a little slippery.

Developer

Thank you, i totally agree, its the main thing id go back and change, that and maybe adding some coyote time, and reducing the difficulty of level 3 haha.

Neat animations!

Nice game! Cool idea to have the dice as a random platform like objects.

Developer

Thank you very much.

Oh no I got stuck squished under a dice, lol. Loved the music and it was a good touch to let players reroll a hand of dice in case you didn't like the outcome

Developer(+1)

Aw thank you for giving it a play, i just liked having a giant hand come in and shake things up. :D
