The doggo is amazing! The sprite animation is beautiful! The rest of the art style is striking and it all works wonderfully together. I didn't hear any "woof" sounds, not sure if they are there but I missed them. The gameplay was good basic platforming.
The most impressive besides the art style was how on theme it was for the pet the doggo wild card!
And how it's a creatively different take on it too!
Great Job! :-)

Developer(+1)

Thank you!! I loved the theme, and was fun to see how far it could be stretched!
The sounds aren't there in the gamejam version, but has been added in the updated one with better visuals and sound fx that I'll upload once the uploads are allowed after voting period.

Submitted

Will you be adding levels? :-)

Submitted

Impressive visuals. The game play was good too. But the platforming seems a bit weird to me.

Overall the game was enjoyable. Nice work!

Developer(+1)

Thanks! yeah, it's very basic platforming

Submitted

The graphics have a ton of personality. I enjoyed it and wish there were more levels!

Developer

Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it

I love the animation of the dog in general, (although the barking anim looks like he is sneezing?) and think an exploratory game with that artstyle could be lovely.

Overall I was confused as to what I was supposed to do, but figured out I was meant to bark into the instruments to amplify the sound.
This could be communicated to the player much better; and the consequences of the loud bark could be more linked into sound consequences? (Making someone drop something, startling them, gaining someones attention, etc.)
As it is now; the barking seems to set off a Rube Goldberg machine, which is a cool idea.
But imagine extending this principle to; being a dog in a chefs kitchen, and trying to ruin the meal of the day. You could bark at different things, to create chain reactions that the chef would try to undo.
(just an idea)

Good job though, and for a personal project and second game jam; well done!

Developer

Thank you!
Those are some nice ways to expand the game.
I do hope to make bigger games in the future :)

Original concept and pretty graphics. Was lovely to play! The audio fits with the rest to give a relaxing atmosphere :).

Great job!

Developer

Thank you!! :)

Really great work on the art! The aesthetic was very enjoyable. The way it meshed with the lighting was spot on too. The platforming felt good too! Really good entry I enjoyed it!

Developer

Thank you so much! Glad you liked it!

Beautiful game! I wanted to keep playing!

Developer

Thank you! :D

Hey this is great! The dog animation is nice and sooo smooth!
Great art and polish!. Honestly I want more levels!

Would you like to rate our game and leave some feedback?

Developer

Thank you! Yes, I focused a lot on the visuals, but was struggling to get these levels working by deadline.

Sure! I'll be checking out your game

Damn, this was the best so far. really lovely game you made. only negative thing I can think of it would be nice to hear a sound when blowing the horns.

I read you used ebsyth. can you explain/show how you used it? I really like that software but so far I have never seen it do anything above the level of little gimmick.

*edit* "download for full screen", can we download as so far I can't find any downloadable file.

please feel free to play and rate my game:

Developer

Thank you so much!

I agree that the horns need sound. But by the time I figured how to add sound, the deadline was over, and I couldn't upload the newer version. Same for the downloadable file. I'll be uploading an improved version once the voting period is over.

Yus, I'll be trying out your game!

Ebsynth is quite cool. I was thinking of making a video explaining the processes that went through making this game.

Submitted

any change you can tell where in this game you used Ebsynth? would love to know as I can't figure it out myself :)

Developer

That's because it's not there in the uploaded version.  :P
The dog is textured in the new version (which will be uploaded once the voting period is over). That is being done with the help of Ebsynth- though manual correction also had to be done over it. But I think I can streamline the process better for future projects

Submitted

I have seen a youtube movie where someone made a low quality render in Blender of 50-100 frames and made 3-4 high quality key-renders of the same scene.  after running Ebsynth the result was very nice and a lot faster then 50-100 high res renders. if you understand the limits of this program I think it can speed up any animation process in games.

Loved it, fantastic art and animations. Music fit the game well - good on you for using FOSS for everything! I look forward to seeing more from you :)

Developer(+1)

Thanks! I've shifted my daily workflows to FLOSS in the past few years. Still come across great new tools to learn very often!

Great visual and really inventive way to pet your dog ;)

Developer

heheh Thanks

I'll echo everyone else and say the art was wonderful. Loved the painterly feel to it. The dog deserves all the petting :-)

Developer

Thank you! The dog has been good :D

Wow, visuals are great! Well done. I especially like how the light reacts to the dog, that's beyond my level of skill.

Like others have said, *short* but sweet. I like it.

Developer

Thanks! I was so happy when I got the lighting working!

Submitted

The art was beautiful. Animation was smooooth. Game was fun to play and get petted.

Developer

Yayy thanks!

Submitted

Really beautiful art, and nice job with the lighting effects too!
I wish the woofing made noise T_T

Developer

Thank you! Had fun working with the visuals!
The woofing will make noise the updated version!

Submitted

I'd love to play more of this!! My one addition would be audio for the barking. I love the art too!

Developer(+1)

Yesss.... the barking and sound fx have been added after submission. Waiting for the voting period to get over so that I can upload that version.
And thank you! :)

Submitted

Amazing artstyle and art! Music doesn't really fit in my opinion though. Fun experience. Great job!

Developer(+1)

Thank you! Glad you like the art!
Yeah, even I don't like the current music. It was put just minutes before submitting so that the game's not silent. Will work on it more.

Submitted

The art and animation feels like a high budget movie. It just just fenominal.

The game's too short sadly.

That's my only complaint.

Developer

ah, thank you so much!
The game I was planning was even shorter - this is the long version :P

The dog's art and animation are so cute! He lives his life for the pets and the scritches. He's a real good boi :)

Developer

Hehehh... Thanks! I had a lot of fun animating him! Still working on it, and will update the game with gooder boi once the voting period is over! :D

Submitted

Developer(+1)

Thank you! Lots of time was spent on the artwork!
Yes, gameplay-wise, could've added more elements... I was struggling to get just these 2 levels done :P
