That's a very nice card game! It has a real UNO feel to it (and seeing how that game is popular, that's a compliment :) )
There is a good mix of luck and strategy to make it enjoyable.
Fun little card game! It definitely seems like the special cards have a few kinks. In particular, I ran into the same softlock as some others, where I had one card left that I couldn't play. I also noticed that one of the CPUs seemed to play a red skip on top of a blue card (when the pollution was 0).
But, I do think the card rules seem to work pretty well overall! One round I won, I had an interesting combination of special cards, so I had to try to manipulate the pollution level in both directions. It seems like a nice variety of gameplay scenarios can crop up with this rule set--for example, another game I had mostly blue cards, which was interesting as that round was much more based on what the CPUs did to the pollution level.
One note on accessibility, that I thought of while rating: it seems like the only indication of which cards a special card is allowed to be played on is color. I wouldn't be surprised if the red and green skip cards were hard to tell apart for someone who's red/green colorblind.
Thanks for the feedback! There is a mix of bugs and unclear rules that make certain cards confusing. I agree that the current "color" system was a very bad idea regarding accessibility. Unfortunately we ran out of time so we had to find a quick way to distinguish card types ( groups ).
Clever card game. I'm always at a loss when trying to figure out how to design card games. Loved how you had the player character standing next to the others, like they were just hanging out.
Loved the animations! And the card game itself is really nice.
Thanks for submitting your game!
Thanks for playing!
Nice! I liked the characters, specially the small animations :D The UI was very polished too, if it wasn't for the lack of sound, I wouldn't have thought this was a jam game.
Super fun to play! Though I saved my skip card until last, then I couldn’t play it so I was soft-locked!
Still, I would absolutely play an IRL version of this for a series of super short games with friends.
Well done!
I liked how it felt to play. For example, instead of clicking a card, you dragged it. I thought that made it feel really good to play.
It was nice to see these characters come to life in the works in progress. Like others have mentioned, there wasn't really a challenge in this - it seems pretty difficult to draw cards due to pollution, as the other two characters sorted it (two playthroughs).
There was still a very crisp mood, and the 2D lighting effect to show the active character was an excellent polish.
Though the game was quite easy for me, the concept wasa very interesting, and <3 mr.crabs
Thanks we are still trying to figure out a better balance system.
Nice fun game. Great graphics! I didn't realise I was Mr crab until halfway into my second game. I also couldn't find a way to reset the game other than reload the page? Game feels too quiet with no SFX or music though but overall great job!
This is really nicely put together, well done! I also got stuck where I couldn't play a card.
It took me a while to realise I was Mr Crab on the left, and playing against 2 others. At first I thought there were 3 opponents.
I think it's a great start, and the actual cards playing itself is really nice, hopefully you can build on it or make other card games out of it. :)
Thank you. We will fix that after jam.
We wanted to let the player choose a character but run out of time.
Interesting game, like the art, great job!
Amazing graphics! The game is fun with good replay-ability, just lacks a bit of audio. Other than that this is definitely a standout of the jam for me!
Fantastic art, cool concept)))
Great concept and execution! Found this to be a novel take on card-shedding with the pollution mechanic which controls how many cards you draw. Some background music, a start screen and victory message would be nice to have :) Overall well done!
I liked the twist on uno, and really liked the character graphics. I got stuck when I had one red skip card in my hand and the face card was blue, and I was not sure how to draw from the deck.
Thank you. Yes that's one of the many bugs the game currently has. We will fix them after jam :)
