Only took me 19m31s (LOL). It was hard to get to pull off the moves needed with cursor keys, but i got to grips with it in the end. Really awesome game, i enjoyed it a lot. Great look and audio. I wish the player had got a little colour, but it's amazing you did all this in the jam time limit.
Thanks! I'm not a fan of the keys I chose either, and will focus on improving that next time. I've always been nervous about joining a jam. Never thought I'd get anything decent done in time, so I have to give a lot of credit to the Godot engine for being so good in that regard!
That was a fun expirience! Some parts were pretty tricky but I can totally see this being speedrunned. Also nice mechanics. Great entry!
Thank you! :D
Awesome time travel game mechanic :)
I'd even say its better than the submissions of the theme 'Inversion' I saw back then, where some jammers have choosen a similar way.
The graphics are elegantly simple but still fitting well to the theme.
Keep jamming :)
PS: +1 for volume controls. I always add this accessibility feature since some submissions blast my ears off ^^*
I have one suggestion: Your volume slider seem to control the sound linearly, but dB is a logarithmic unit. So only the last 10-20% of your slider are usable since the sound is just quiet at the remaining part. Use something like linear2db to convert the volume position to decibel.
Thanks! I'll keep that in mind with regards to the volume sliders. I noticed they were a bit off but didn't know about the linear2db! Thanks for the tip!
This feels very polished experience with surprising amount of quality content! Game idea and level design were both very good. I got 7 tokens, I hope there would've been level selector to go and 100% it :)
Special note about variable music. More jam games should make use of it, here it was nicely implemented.
And you did graphics, sound and code all by yourself? Great job!
Thank you! Gals you liked it! Yea the time changing felt good to begin with, but once I put in the dynamic element of the music it really made it feel so much better just with that alone! Makes a big difference!
Really like the time jump twist, nice!
Thank you!
This is an incredibly solid platformer with a great twist. The extra additions like the optional collectibles and the music changing when you time jump are amazing. It feels so well polished. Well done!! :D
Thank you, very glad you enjoyed it! :)
Absolutely incredible. The last level in particular was really nice
Thank you! :D
This was definitely enjoyable! I love the game art!
Couple points:
Otherwise, great entry, and great developer cameo!
Thank you! The character could use some tweaking I agree. It serves it's purpose for this but I'd like the jumping to be a bit tighter too. I tend not to play platformers with a keyboard so I wasn't sure which would be the best layout for most people generally. I do like the idea of it being completely playable with one hand, so I'll try to map things a bit differently next time!
One widely used control scheme is arrows + Z, X buttons. I usually add 3 control schemes, that one for kb only, WASD + mouse buttons for kb + mouse (even if there isn't any aiming element) and controller. Something for everybody :)
Yea next time I'll be sure to cover a lot of different bases and as well as having customizable controls!
This was fun! The time travel concept and the design of the levels was very smart, and I liked having to time my switching in midair :)
Thank you so much! :D
Very good platformer, well done! I made it to level 10 but couldn't quite do what I think was about to get me the key (top left of the level). A good difficulty progression, and I only stopped because it was just beyond my abilities.
Some feedback though. I didn't realise that I could get a bigger jump by taking a longer run up, I almost gave up early on because I couldn't make some jumps. I feel like the run mechanic isn't really needed, just a single pace with more/less run ups would have given me 1 less button to press -- and perhaps a better chance at doing the tricky time switch moves.
Overall I really liked it, congrats on a great submission.
Thank you, glad you liked it! I went back and forth on the running too. I could imagine a version of the game without it, and with no acceleration/friction on the player's movement which could work well too. I'll give that strong consideration going forward with how I expand this.
Thanks! :)
I had a lot of fun with this game! I got to level 10. The controls are intuitive and felt responsive, and the puzzles are well designed and melded really well with the platforming and speed-running angle. I usually am terrible with platformers, but having more control over the timing of the jumps made it easier for me to get really into it.
I love how you built in a challenge medal into each level. I was tempted to replay levels just to try getting them. Overall, this is really a fantastic entry, and one of the most fun games I've played in the jam so far (and that's saying something, since I usually don't like platformers haha).
Thank you, I'm so glad you enjoyed it! I think the feel of moving and jumping makes or breaks this kind of game, so I'm really happy you thought it was good!
Super fun! I loved that you could see the other platforms before even time jumping. That made it really easy and still skillful to know where to land!
Thanks! That was actually a fairly late change I made, making the other time period transparent in the background. At first, I just had it disappear completely, which was fun in it's own way, having to remember the layout before making the jump, but I agree it's much better this way. :)
A cool little platformer; the levels and the core mechanic are enjoyable, and the art and music are very nice. Great job overall!
The only feedback I can give is that controls are a little awkward on keyboard: having to constantly keep shift pressed to run gets tiring.
Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed it! I'll be weary of using the shift key going forward, and also definitely try to incorporate customizable controls for anything I make in future. Fell short of time for this project unfortunately.
I liked the time jumping really much. and the puzzles were also fun to do
Thank you! :D
I hate platformers...
But this was a nice change and I liked the puzzle element and time jumping. You've convinced me that platformers can be fun
Wow, thank you! Glad I could manage to convert you!
Incredible work! The gameplay was fun, the music changing was really neat and graphics were awesome! I'd love to see this game continue development over time, you have a really solid game on your hands!
Thank you, I'm glad you liked it! I definitely have more ideas on how to take it further, so I probably will keep developing it!
Really solid entry. I really liked the music change. Also I liked the blocks that breaks fast when you are in the present.
Thanks you very much! Put a lot of effort into those blocks to make sure they worked and the player doesn't get stuck in them, haha!
