Game Description
Answer the question for yourself, do you believe the android is dreaming?

How does your game tie into the theme?
We ask an AI to describe its dream based on the events of a day. We then rank the player by how good the dream was.

Finally, the first ChatGPT submission! I'm a bit worried that game jamming will never be the same again (from brainstorming over asset generation) but you made it transparent and implemented it as a mechanic which is a positive example of using it :)

Developer(+1)

Things really may never be the same again, and that's scary, but also exciting. There's far more potential to the use of ChatGPT in games, and I can't wait to see where people take it. And a little scared. Thanks for the kind words and understanding!

Good pixel art, the core gameplay wasn't super fun but it was all done very well and smoothly. the sheep seemed like sheep

Submitted(+1)

So sheep have the ability to explode. xD

Submitted(+1)

Nice game with easy controls. My sheep were good for the most part but one or two would lag behind off-screen and explode, never to be seen again. Damn you volatile grass!

Banger credits

That was for certain an interesting  experience. So ChatGPT grades our performance of how we played ? I liked the pixel art and music, I'm not sure if I actually played it correctly, but I got a better ranking on the second run.

Developer

ChatGPT composes a dream based on a prompt and the day's events. We then grade the dream with basic word matching. Hoping the next version will include proper sentiment analysis. Thanks for checking it out!

An offscreen sheep indicator would be a good addition, Sophie ate explosive grass out of my field of view :( The last I heard of her was an explosion. Also I think the player could have a more active role if the interaction with the sheep were of repulsion, instead of attraction, so you have to chase them down and funnel them.

Very very fun and original, keep up the good work!

Developer

Those are both good suggestions. Trying to keep sheep from leaving the group by patrolling the perimeter like a shepherd dog could be a more interesting interaction. Thanks for the kind words and feedback!

I think I kept the sheep off the electric grass ok, but it felt like I didn't know where to take them. I didn't see any obvious destinations.

Developer

This is good feedback! I can definitely improve on the level design in future releases. Thanks.

The credit song is a banger. You need to publish the OST :)

Nice title hahaha. Love the music, especially during the credits. The pixel art is great too. I found the gameplay and controls pretty confusing, but definitely a unique and interesting concept. Great work!

Nice music and good retro pixel art!

I could not quite figure out the gameplay (and got a C grade) but led my sheep to (hopefully) “greener” pastures.

Your story is quite interesting. Graphics and music are awesome. Attracting the sheep using magnet is a new idea to me. I played twice but every time got a grade c, though second time I returned home with 12 of them :(

Art and controls are top-notch ! Didn't quite understand the gameplay but still enjoyed the process

Great Job !

There was no response from the ChatGPT API, so the game didn't complete, and also I wasn't able to understand the entire gameplay. But kudos on trying out something novel!

Leaving feedback, but rating won't be reflected due to AI generated work being against the jam rules.

- Theme:   Main tie in is at the very end where the dream is shown

- Fun:   The novelty of it was entertaining. I mistakenly thought the bright green grass was good. Then I played the intro  again and realized I was mistaken, which also explained why all my sheep exploded lol

- Controls: It seemed like the magnetism worked, but it wasn't clear if I needed to be in range of the sheep or not

- Graphics:  I liked the artwork, I thought it fit well together

- Audio:  The music track was entertaining and the sheep sounds were fun

- A11y:  No feedback

- Originality:  Very novel idea for a game and the use of the narrative makes it  unique for each player

Happy to see how this turned out. I got a grade C because I wasn't really sure what I was doing but had fun leading sheep around and listening to the music.

Developer

Thanks for checking it out!

Grade A with 5 sheep saved. I got 9 good dream words and 0 on the rest. Nice graphics and audio. Key bindings it nice touch too. Played around a bit, even had runs that had no dreams, just sleeping. Would be interested to see how the dreams works, looks like a MadLib story though. Great use of the wildcards, explosions were cute.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! I'm curious about the runs with no dreams, if that was a bug? The dreams are written by ChatGPT 3.5 based on a pre-written prompt, and the events of the day getting passed into it. Sometimes the API doesn't respond, so that can cause issues.
