The game reminds me a bit of nuclear throne. it has potential! but it lacks game feel to keep the player engaged. i found unfortunately a bit boring the fact of having to click each time to attack

Nice game. It was fun to fight enemies, but I think the levels were too large or there was not enough indication as to where enemies are, so I have spent a lot of time just running around trying to find someone on shoot at. Other than that, it was a great game. I loved the concept of trying to build an artificial heart, I think it is a very interesting idea, like something from a science fiction novel or cyberpunk film.

Super fun game, the flying enemies that shoot projectiles were giving me the business lol.

Super cute, love the graphics (especially the player character) and the gameplay is pretty solid. I liked the music too but it stopped playing partway through the game. Great work!

Submitted(+1)

A great addition would be to be able to hold the mouse button to shoot on a timer, instead of having to click every time. Other than that, good entry! Very solid :) Keep up the good work!

Great job! This was really cool. A small thing that I think would make the game feel a lot better is some amount of feedback when the player takes damage (SFX, sprite flash, etc.), since it's not always totally clear when you've actually gotten hit.

Developer(+1)

Yes sure we will add some visual effects and sound when the player gets hit after the jam votes as well as some other improvements so we will leave the best version possible of this little game , thank you for playing!

Really nice little game! I enjoyed playing it

Cool little game! I had fun shooting stuff! I wish you could autofire and just be able to press SPACE or SHOOT to go through dialogue, but those were minor stuff. That boost power was very satisfying! Great work!

Developer(+1)

Thank you for the kind words , yes we will surely add the autofire.

Nice game. Controls felt good. Some enemies don't notice they player outside a certain range, so the player can shoot them with impunity.

Some quality of life tips: auto-shoot, minimap or bug radar, auto-teleport back to base, maybe an occasional health powerup?

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

Thanks for playing the game , yes we will add the auto-shoot and some form of indicator for the enemies in the level after the jam votes.

Theme:  Tie in through narrative

Fun: The core game loop was clear

Controls: Character movement controls were responsive

Graphics:  The art was nice, especially the level sprites

Audio:  No feedback

A11y:  Having a hold to fire option would be a helpful toggle option, but glad there was a menu for sounds

Originality:  The core mechanics for a twin stick shooter were  present , and having the buffs at the end of the level was nice to change it up a bit

Developer(+1)

Yeah we will add the auto-fire and fix some other bugs after the jam , thank you for the detailed response!

OOOH I assume this is Nuclear Throne inspired. It was a nice story/theme take on a top down shooter. I especially enjoyed the dialog prompt from the AI!

Submitted(+1)

I really liked the game overall, gave me hardcore nuclear throne vibes. The levels seemed a little bit too large, spent a lot of time just looking for enemies. Other than that, excellent game!

Fun game, good graphics and sound. Not sure what the fork in the road was though?

Developer(+1)

When you complete the fifth level , that is the last one, you will get a different ending depending on how many times you died for completing the game , thank you for playing!

Submitted(+1)

I see, maybe will try to play again

Extremely polished for your first submission! Well done! The music, sound effects, and pixel art were great!

I found the game a little difficult and would have liked it if the enemy projectiles were a little bit slower.

Developer(+1)

Yes this is my first game jam , all the sprites were made by Alkrssve, the game is a bit too difficult but we wanted it that way , thank you for trying it out!

The music has a couple of bugs where it only plays in the left ear and doesn’t loop for whatever reason, but great game regardless! I couldn’t figure out how to recover health, though, other than just dying.

Developer (2 edits) (+1)

Yeah I found that music bug too , right now you can't recover health , you have infinite respawns but depending on how many times you died you will get a different ending, thank you for playing the game!
