Great work, really impressive game. Had a blast playing. I do wonder if there is a "good" ending. XD
Unfortunately not, the ending is unfortunately very unfortunate, just like the ant :(
played the game twice just to check if theres a good ending, a very unfortunate ant indeed. im not a fan of these kinds of puzzles but the game scrathed my brain in a good way, i think its intentional that theres multiple ways to solve a level and i liked that. parasites were really funny, each thinking of just one way to make your life harder, i imagined their kind have a code of honor of some sort
The parasites having a code of honor makes me think of a parasite kingdom with parasite knights and so forth... I see potential haha
I really like it being a puzzle game, it's kind of rare in jams :D
Wow I loved this game! You did a great job rolling the story into the game mechanics, and I have to say having an interesting story in a simple puzzle game is impressive to pull off. The puzzles seemed daunting but were all reasonably solvable, and I definitely chuckled a few times at the dialogue.
Not sure if it was intentional, but on a few levels I was able to solve the puzzles using less of the rocks and tunnels than it seemed I was supposed to. Didn't necessarily hurt my experience, just made me like I was puzzlin' good.
Great job, an exceptional first jam submission! Look forward to seeing what you put together in future jams!
Thank you for enjoying so many parts of my game :D
In the beginning, it wasn't my intention, but at the end of making levels, I realized that it could be a feature having "false" stones and tunnels that could "destroy" the solution instead of helping you towards it!
I will most definitely be doing more jams in the future, it was very fun!
This game has some great puzzles with simple mechanics! I got stuck a couple of times and had to think about what I was doing. It really shows that less can be more if you make that less really smart yet simple puzzles. Amazing game design. I feel a bit inspired to have a try at making my own puzzle game for the next jam I participate in.
Puzzle games I've realised are extremely fun to make! When you come to the point where you have all the mechanics done and can just start building puzzles, it's like a puzzle game in and of itself! So I can strongly recommend trying :D
Really well-crafted puzzle game. Nice job.
So much fun! I’m a big fan of sokoban games and this hit an itch. The puzzles were great, and I could see the layering of rules becoming a much more layered set of levels! Great work!
If it scratched an itch of a fan of the genre, then I am more than pleased :D
This is awesome! Enjoyed the puzzles and the dialogue was fun
Very fun! The difficulty curve felt pretty good and the game was overall very polished. I especially liked the fact that the parasites speak to you, added a lot of charm :D
Very nice game. I like the dialog system and the puzzles. Congrats on your submission and good luck!
Fun puzzle game. Difficulty ramped up, and I enjoyed it. Polished, and I didn't run into any bugs (except the ant, of course)
That's the only bugs that I want to see :D
Fun puzzles, finished the whole thing. I liked how you started off simple and then added on more mechanics to make it harder, the dialogue was also really funny!
Thank you! I played your game as well and the idea of progressively adding more mechanics to make it harder is prevalent in both. I had way more ideas on constraints but had to lessen the scope for the restricted amount of time...
This was the first submission I played from this Jam, and I loved it. I finished it in one sitting, and then i got my wife to play it because I knew she would love it too. I love the complexity of the puzzle, the uniqueness of the constraints that each new parasite brought. Even though the music was simple, i think it fit the theme well, didnt distract from the gameplay, and I found myself humming it after i finished the game. The final twist was heartwrenching. Noble ant, noble effort.
Glad that both you and your wife were able to find some enjoyment in my little project. After working hours on this project and hearing the same music play over and over again, I had doubts if it was good or just annoying, but I am glad it turned out good and not distractive :D
Lovely simple concept that allows complicated puzzles that melted my brain at times! Music is just right, keeps out of the way and allows you to focus on the problems.
The controls are intuitive and tho, the concept is not original, the bit about not being able to touch the key was a nice touch!
Glad you enjoyed the simplicity of the music and the complexity of the puzzles! Those two parts are probably the things I am most proud of :D
A very simple game and a nice ending. Keeps you on the edge about what happens next. This game proves that you don't need graphics eye candy to come up with such a good game. Really pleased with the game, especially those puzzles. I think a more extended full blown game with these mechanics could be a potential hit. Keep up the good work @efterblivnaraven
I had planned on more parasites but had to lessen my scope for the game jams time limit, so as you say there is potential with a game with the same kind of restrictive mechanics. Thanks for playing and enjoying the game <3
I'm a fan of the genre, really liked the aesthetics and the dialogues
A really unfortunate Ant.
Like the increasing difficulty!
These were some very nice puzzles. Good game
Thank you! Creating the puzzles was definitely the most fun part of the development so I am glad you enjoyed them :D
Nice game - love how the story builds up til the end :)
I cried an ocean when I wrote it, such emotional power in it xD
I finish the game. Love it. the parasite limit movement.
