Game Description
A short visual novel inspired by Japanese folklore. A traveling artist who wanders into a small village hears about this magnificent cherry blossom tree. Upon finding it, he encounters the lord of the mountain who cherishes his mountain and the cherry blossom tree. Then the mountain lord tells the artist his plan to... The ending changes depending on what you choose to do, or not do. Where do your choices lead you to...?
How does your game tie into the theme?
The game's story is something I wrote inspired by one of my favourite Japanese folklore.

Thank you all for playing my game.
The jam result came in and I'm really happy that I got #1 on the graphic and #15 on overall categories.
Really appreciate so many of you who played and/or rated my game. I keep learning and making more cool games :)
Damn, love the arts. Love what you did with the game page too!
Oh thank you! And thank you for paying attention to the game page as well. Indeed, I put some effort on the page. :)
The art is striking!! And the story is really cool too! Congrats on making this game, it´s so polished and well-executed!
Thank you! I'm very glad that you liked the game. You give me confidence to keep working hard :)
I'm pretty blown away by this, it has the art and presentation of a finished game! No idea how you managed to finish this in a week, well done!
Whoa, that's one heck of a nice comment. Really appreciate that, thank you so much!
I've worked hard so I'm really happy that you said all that :)
The visual style is really unique and I thought it was a really nice story. Great job on this one!
Hey thank you very much for playing :)
Glad you enjoyed it!
Wow, such a simple yet elegant game. Thank you for this experience. It was a good story.
Well, thank YOU for playing! I'm glad that you had a good time with it.
you did a very good job on this! I really like this kind of graphical style, and it really looks polished! Must have been a lot of work that went into this. The storytelling is very good as well.. sugoi! ;)
Hahaha, do-mo, arigatou!
Drawing wasn't bad, it's a habit. The "work" was to incorporating it into the game so it works as a whole, not piece by piece.
But thanks to your comment, I know that all that paid off:)
Top tier art. Easily the best stills in the Jam that I've seen. You got some skills!
Oh boy, thank you so much! Really happy that it got your attention :)
Very beautiful art and story. It reminds me a bit of Princess Mononoke. Love that movie. Well done!
Thank you very much and you got that right, Princess Mononoke is a huge inspiration for me ;)
Incredible art and experience. 5* naturally, for graphics. I love your style a lot; amazingly talented!
I knew I had to play this game immediately. Mushi-shi is my favourite anime of all time and this story could easily be an episode there (if you haven't heard of it, you should check it out!) I've always loved the idea of each mountain having a lord, and that humans and nature needed to live in harmony.
The UI was beautifully integrated with the brushstroke panels, and i loved the simple audio feedback of the mouse-overs and clicks. The ambient sfx on the mountain hike was great, and I wished there were some Japanese folk music to further build the atmosphere (again, check out mushi-shi for the vibe!)
The game's art is too good to play on anything less than full-screen. And I hope you activate the option so more people can admire your art in greater details! You should even be able to do it, by ticking the box that says "Fullscreen button" on the itch page!
Congratulations on your amazing submission!
Oh man, I am a HUGE Mushishi fan as well! I read the manga when it was still a series in a magazine back home. I loved every single one of its episodes. I even have the special spin-off episode manga book. So you picked up the subtle reference/inspiration there. Awesome, true fan!
And boy, thank you so much for such high praise on the game. Really appreciate it. (The sfx on the mountain hike, I was actually thinking about "The Sore Feet Song" :D)
The screen size is always a bit of a headache for me when I make games but I'll make sure to include the full screen mode next time for the visual-driven ones at least.
What an incredibly beautiful game. You should be very proud of what you’ve accomplished!
Well, thank you so much! Your comment makes me feel proud of what I have created :)
The art in this game is so stunning!! I absolutely love the painterly style and the colors, super gorgeous. I also think the audio was subtle + well-done for building the atmospheric feeling.
Oh man, thank you so much! One of the big inspirations in terms of the art style is Disco Elysium which is one of my favourite games of all time. I'm happy that the game art is speaking to you :)
This gam is so cool, the art is especially beautiful. I also love how you did the audio too. Overal such a beautiful experience!
Oh man, thank you so much! I'm so glad that you liked the game. It makes me very happy :)
