Game Description
A short visual novel inspired by Japanese folklore. A traveling artist who wanders into a small village hears about this magnificent cherry blossom tree. Upon finding it, he encounters the lord of the mountain who cherishes his mountain and the cherry blossom tree. Then the mountain lord tells the artist his plan to... The ending changes depending on what you choose to do, or not do. Where do your choices lead you to...?
How does your game tie into the theme?
The game's story is something I wrote inspired by one of my favourite Japanese folklore.

The art of this game is beautiful, for it to have been made at the time of the jam it's just brilliant. The atmospheres are very well done, the audio is also top quality.
Great job! :D
Thank you so much for playing! Really means a lot.
I'm glad you enjoyed the game thoroughly :D
Truly Amazing Artwork, I enjoyed the story as well!
Got the Tree being cut down ending for my first play through, I enjoyed the story and tone very much and would love to see more in this art style!

Whoa, thank you so much for the love! I'm super excited that you liked the game.
It looks like you got my favourite ending there. I'm hoping that it made you feel something.
absolutely BEAUTIFUL looking artwork for this visual novel game.
Thank you so much for the absolutely BEAUTIFUL comment!!
First time making a visual novel so I still see a lot of things I could improve. Still, I'm really happy that you seem to have enjoyed it :)
I love your artwork! I'm impressed you were able to make all of it in this timeframe. Wonderful art and story. I got a bad ending :( what a sad story
Thank you so much for playing the game! I truly appreciate that.
Well, there are a few different endings so maybe you can go back and play it again ;)
This looks like the prelude of a even bigger story. Pretty well done, i'd rate the art with a 6 stars if i could haha, it was pretty pretty well done and very creative. One of my favorites entries definetly.
Oh man, such high praise. Thank you so much for giving it a try!
Your "6 stars" are well accepted in my heart. It means A LOT.
This was a really cool experience. Great use of art and music and a cool story!
Oh boy thank you so much! Glad you had a cool experience :)
The artwork is truly stunning! And the story very well written! This is one of my favorite entries of this jam.
"one of my favorite entries of this jam"
... WOW. This means a lot. Thank you so so much.
As everyone has said, amazing art! The dialogue box is so good, the typing noise is not elegant enough to stand alongside it–my only complaint. Followed!
Your feedback is well-noted, thank you! Really appreciate you for taking time and give it a shot.
Now you pointed out, the only thing I can hear is the type sound... lol
I'm sure anyone can tell this game has great art from a mile away, it's incredible! The story is really interesting as well. I hope to get to see more art of yours in the future!
Ayyy thank you so much! Really happy about everything you said. Thank you.
You give me motivations to continue working hard to make more games :)
Superb artwork. I enjoyed it a lot, I played through a few times to see the different endings. The Mountain Lord gave me Princess Mononoke forest spirit vibes, it was great. I'd love to see what projects you work on next.
As a person who grew up watching every single Miyazaki Film reruns on TV, I can confirm you are right there. In fact, I was looking at the forest spirit's image when I drew his antlers. hehe
Anywho, thank you for such nice feedback. I'm very happy that you enjoyed the game :)
Wow, very beautiful artwork and I really enjoyed the story as well. I got the good ending on my first playthrough :)
Congratulations on getting the good ending on the first run and thank you for playing!
I'm really happy you enjoyed the artwork and the storyline. Thank you:)
Incredible artwork!! I really liked the story and multiple endings as well. I did not notice anything wrong with the writing either.
Excellent work!
Thank you so very much :)
I'm very happy that you liked the story and great to know that I didn't mess up the writing. haha
I really appreciate you giving it a try.
I usually don’t like visual novels but the visuals in this game are amazing and the story hooked me into it. An incredible achivement for the short duration of the game jam. Kudos to you! I’m looking for people to collaborate in game jams in the future, hit me up if you are interested.
Oh boy, if I can get a comment like that from a person who generally doesn't like the genre, then it's already a huge win for me. Thank you! And yeah, let me know about the game jams. I usually often go solo but sometimes join a team and generally have a good time :)
The narrative and illustrations are very good!
I'm a bit sad with the result of my choices (SPOILER:
the tree was cut down), but I think this impact is important for the story, especially thinking about folklore in general.Regarding the language, I also don't speak native English and I've created visual novels in the past, so I understand your insecurity, but I didn't notice any flaws, everything seems correctly written/translated.
Congrats for the submission! 😊
Hi Thank you for your nice comment. It really makes me happy and frankly, it means a lot that you felt some emotions out of the story (I'd appreciate it if we could keep it spoiler-free, too! lol).
I also appreciate your feedback on the language. It's an important insight for me, too. I do fine in life and work generally but good writing is kind of the core of visual novels so, I was extra antsy about it. Glad to know there are no catastrophic errors. haha
Outstanding visuals and a nice storyline. The presentation and vibes are great
Hey thank you very much for your feedback. Really appreciate your comment and you giving it a try :)
Beautiful art. I can tell you really love this story. :)
Hey Otter, thank you very much.
Yes, I mean, I tried my best to write this story. I'm glad it's reaching you:)
P.S. I left the comment on your submission page but I really liked your game as well!
Great game with some lovely visuals and a great storyline. Light on the interaction for my taste, but there's no denying your art is wonderful. Well done!
Thank you for giving it a try :)
Yes, you are right; I would have also loved to add more interactions but you know, some descoping had to happen.
I'm still happy that you liked the art and the story. Really appreciate it.
Lovely game! Absolutely gorgeous art, and I enjoyed the storyline. Could've done with some more ambience/audio for my taste, but I'm not very familiar with the visual novel genre. Really nice job!
Thank you for the feedback! It means a lot :)
Yes, you are right on the point about the audio. It was actually something I had debated until the very end. Maybe I should have? See, I'm still debating. lol
Stunning illustrations!
I liked the story and was invested in it, until the Artist decided to do the opposite of what I chose.
So the ending didn't feel satisfying.
The crow sound also pierced my ears, I think it's too loud!
Thank you for playing and for your feedback:)
There are a few different endings so, maybe the one you had was something of the "out of hand" path.
Sorry for Mr. Crow. He likes to scare people!
Oh, I had no idea it has multiple endings.
I just replayed it now, and I also enjoyed the other story!
I think having a hint for the player that there are multiple endings would be a good addition to the game.
Edit: Okay apparently the description states that there are multiple endings haha, admittedly I didn't read it and went straight to playing it.
Oh nice! Finally, the satisfaction for you. haha
A hint for multiple endings IN the game somewhere, eh. Interesting, maybe the narration in the beginning can touch on that. Thanks for pointing that out.
