This is an awesome entry. A lot done for a gam jam , nice work
Pretty good.
When you manage to unfreeze the whole place, the enemies can only spawn from one place (the last place there was ice), so it kinda makes it like shooting fish in a barrel (which is fun, but quickly gets boring).
Yes, it was a bug of last minute. Didn't have time to fix it. I was working on adding a boss and another kind of monsters too.
Thanks for playing.
I really liked the game, it was fun, but I do think that a little more active music would have improved the experience.
On the other hand, the game works well mechanically, and manages to maintain attention to reach the end.
Great job! :D
Freeze mechanics is definitely addition to this game genre, well done! A good point to improve would be some kind of variability and/or upgrades
Like the game, there's a lot of time that has to be spent slowly unfreezing the planet which is well executed in and of itself off the concept. The vibes reminded me of flash games from the 2000s. Only thing is the audio made me take off my headphones because listening to some of the sound effects over and over again made my ears uncomfortable. Nonetheless, congrats on your game!
Interesting how you can corral the enemies by clearing out the ice that they need to spawn on. It kinda ties in with the premise too, because while your planet is on its last legs at first, you eventually gain the upper hand against the aliens as you defrost more and more of the planet, putting you in greater control of the battle.
I must ask though, how do you win? The progress bar at the bottom made me think that once I cleared out all the ice, I just had to finish the wave and then I was done, but they kept coming. Do you need to both defrost the planet AND clear out all the waves?
Nice solid entry. Really like how you change the pitch on some of the sounds - sounded like you randomized the pitch scale when you would plant the bombs. Also - thanks for the reminders of bomberman :)
Nice little survival game!
I found game loop very satisfying and engaging, it was fun! I think it needs some balancing though, once I defrost all the land, all aliens started to appear at the same spot in the same corner and I just stood right on top of the spawning location and could tank like 80% of the waves :P Other than that, it's cool to see a top-down shooter with a different approach like this one.
I don't know if I'm just bad, but I couldn't manage to get the progress bar to go past around 60%. But I still had a lot of fun playing it, great job!
Cool and fun game! Nice gameplay loop and it's interesting how the optimal gameplay loop changes for the player as you start to make the planet greener. I was able to make the whole planet green after killing a lot of aliens, but they started spawning in a single spot outside of the stage, so I just sat there and spawn killed them. Idk if this was intentional or if the game should've ended there(?). Either way, super fun experience and good job :D
Glad you enjoy it.
The idea was that when you complete all the green you win the game. But I wasn't sure it was the right thing todo.
So I didn't nothing, and I saw the bug, and I thought is was ok, not a big problem, and also had no more time to continue work on it.
Thanks for playing
Really enjoyed this! Managing the ground space and enemy waves was great; I'd really love to see additional enemy types if you ever have time!
I wanted to add 2 or 3 more enemies, have some basic drawing that started, but I had a really busy week and I had no time for it.
Thanks for playing
Such a unique concept, I like it it was fun!
When I almost restored the complete planet, more of these aliens came and destroyed my progress D:
But I liked it, it was a fun little game I could enjoy.
Thanks for playing. Good luck
Fun and good art what's not to like (:
