Game Description
Escape an avalanche and avoid being frozen while saving your friends!
How does your game tie into the theme?
In this winter themed game an avalanche is caused by the falling title, forcing you to run. The death mechanic involves freezing, either in water or in the avalanche, and you must avoid both to continue playing.

Really fun game with a lot of replayability and polish. Dodging little snow pellets while walking around the map with the avalanche make for a really good challenge that doesn't feel overwelming or unfair. Sound effects, visual effects and music are all great too.
Thank you for playing our game! I'm glad that you enjoyed all the various different aspects of it.
Wow, replayability is up there! Fun game, very nicely done. I think the UI was helpful and nice addition to gameplay, like the distance travelled on the right and the frost around the screen. More enemy types or obstacles would be nice, but as a base game this is great.
Thanks! The artist on our team did an amazing job designing how the UI should look and work.
Really fun game. Very polished. Awesome sounds and graphics.
I'm thrilled that you enjoyed it, and thank you so much for playing! We were lucky to have both an amazing artist and musician on our team to help us bring that final polish.
Simple concept that’s well executed! The avalanche comes on pretty quickly, but it still works, I never felt like it was too fast, while still constantly feeling like I’m in danger of it.
Great work :D
Thank you! glad you enjoyed it :D
I'm glad that you enjoyed it. I find that simplicity is key to making something that works well in such a short amount of time.
I loved the concept, the game is fun, well polished, the theme fits very well, and everything is on point!
Glad you enjoyed it :)
Thanks for playing our game! I'm glad that you enjoyed it.
Good fun with a straightforward concept! Visuals, audio, and gameplay all felt well done, and it has a nice gameplay loop.
Thanks
Thank you for the kind words. I'm glad that you enjoyed the game.
Funny game! Unfortunately the camera zoom didn't work very well for me, I was always running on the edge and this zoom almost never stopped.
Yeah... you get stuck too close to the avalanche for too long and that may very well be your experience. Thanks for playing our game, though.
Sound design was very nice. Sound is often over looked and I think your game really benefitted from having complete sound. Keep up the good work
Yeah, I agree that very often sound gets overlooked. I've overlooked sound in plenty of past projects, because I'm pretty horrible at it. Thankfully for this project we had someone very talented with music and sound on the team.
Very fun game, even tho it gets repetitive after 15-25 minutes. I had so much fun and i loved the sound design, even tho the game is more about gameplay, sounds and bg music really add to the "rush" feeling. Love this one!
hello, i did the sound work here. Thank you for your words! It makes me happy
Oh I absolutely agree that, while gameplay may come first, the art and music are still critical to getting the full experience. It just wouldn't be the same without it.
Thanks for playing our game.
It was fun, I really liked the art and music.
The zoom of the camera to the player was a very successful detail to give tension to the situation haha.
Is very complete game, although a little difficult for me.
Great job! :D
thanks
I'm glad that you enjoyed the game.
And yeah, the art and music turn out a lot better when you have teammates dedicated to the art and music, as opposed to the programmer art and music that you'd get if I were the one having to do it. I was very lucky to get to work with some talented people on those fronts.
It was rewarding to finally get to D after a dozen trials :D
Nice vibe and tempo of the game - the light anxiety of the music adds to the feel of a race.
To be honest - it didn't feel like an avalanche though, more like a wave - a beautifully done wave - I felt more like a crab trying to escape the water rather than someone fleeing avalanche :)
thanks
Thanks so much for taking the time to play our game.
And yeah, had this been a summer jam instead of a winter jam, we perhaps could've come up with a similar game escaping a tidal wave instead of the avalanche that we currently have. The gameplay would've worked very well in that scenario, too.
Hard but fun game with lots of potential, the threath of the incoming avalance is so well designed.I also really enjoyed the audio. The music and sound effects are cute, funny and very fitting.
thanks! I was the one making the audio, makes me happy to read that
Thank you for the compliments. We had some wonderful people on our team dedicated to the art, the audio, and the various little details in the gameplay that really adds a lot to the game.
I'm glad that you enjoyed our game.
try getting a SS i dare you
Love it!
My only suggestion is to add a quick replay button after you fail.
Otherwise, it's a great game, and I’ll definitely add it to my collection! <3
Thank you so much!
Thank you
Quick replay probably would be a good idea to add. I may have to look a bit at that after the jam.
As a small note, both the start screen and the game over screen are wired so that you can hit space to continue through them, so with hitting space twice after a game over you can get yourself into another game fairly quickly.
absolutely cute game. are the levels procedurally generated? sometimes I had the feeling they are kind of unfair, especially when the lookahead was diminished because you already somewhat struggle.
loved the music, but the avalanche was a bit too loud in comparison for me
yes they are generated pls look at the page, sorry about the avalanche but you need to be close to it hear it that loud
Yeah, the levels are procedurally generated using Godot's FastNoiseLite. The game could've likely benefitted from some further balancing to help a bit with some of the feelings of unfairness, but ultimately with a game jam there's only so much time.
I hope that you were still able to enjoy it, even if it can be a bit punishing from time to time.
Nice game! It is fun and have a lot of potential to add more content like buffs or power-ups.
I agree with other comments saying that the water is punishing, is the map procedurally generated? There were some cases where I got a huge piece of water (impossible to pass through it, even dashing).
Thanks, to help you the little ice block can help you has, and if there's only water you are at the end of the map
Thank, we were but time killed us to it
i said thanks two times
Yeah, the levels are procedurally generated using Godot's FastNoiseLite to generate the levels. This can lead to some more difficult to cross terrain at times. Possibly adding some sort of buff or power up that could counter the water would be nice, but unfortunately we didn't have the time to fully experiment with this.
In any case, thanks for playing and thanks for the thoughtful comment.
Great job! I was never able to reach the end. That water is really punishing!
I like the sound effects background music. Controls feel good. Well put together game loop.
You will some day
The game definitely has a bit of challenge mixed into it. I've play tested it a lot, and I'll still get caught by the water in many scenarios. Glad you enjoyed it, though.
Impressive work! The gameplay flows nicely and is very intuitive, but the thing I liked the most was the small details such as the camera zooming out so you know exactly where the avalanche is, the camera shaking, the snowflakes around the screen getting more prevalent when you're close to dying, etc. They really pushed this submission to the next level :D
Thanks, i got a whole army to play test this game
As the person that was responsible for these little details, I'm glad you liked them thank you!
Thank you for the compliments for our game.
I would absolutely agree that a lot of those small details help bring the game up to the next level. Luckily, we had a talented artist that was able to create the assets that we needed to bring it to life and a programmer that took the integration of those assets to the next level.
The deep water is so punishing, but I had fun, so good work!
Thank you! a way to counter the waters punishment is to charge up the dash before reaching it, or using the snow blocks on top of the water to dash from them :)
Yeah the water can add a bit of difficulty to the game overall. Possibly if we had more time we could have tried to tweak it a bit more, but overall it does still make for a fun experience, even if a little punishing at times.
Thanks for taking the time to play our game.
Great fun. I was hit by an ever consuming wave of fun times!
I liked the theme and the overall completeness of the game.
Thank you!
Thanks for the kind words for our game.
For the overall completeness, it definitely helped we had a great team including specialists dedicated to the art, music/sounds, and gameplay/programming. That and also keeping the scope smaller allowed us to put in a bit of polish.
