Lovely Ina and tako sprites! I love the paper aesthetic you went for!

It was fun exploring the area and talking to the little takos.

Some points for improvement:

- The rescue counter is hard to see on light backgrounds. Consider adding an outline to the text or overlaying it over a darker semitransparent box.

- The dialogue bubbles don't scale properly with the screen size, which can make them look huge, but it's a minor thing that can be fixed after the jam.

- The same as above for the game over screen. It should scale with the screen size.

- Try adding music and sounds to round up the experience!

- Having takos with specific "color needs" or placing them in higher locations adding a platforming element would add some variety to the game loop. Maybe you can unlock new colors by completing tasks as you progress in the game. :)

Super cute! I really liked the Paper Mario-esque style and my favorite thing about this was reading all the dialogue from all the little takos :D
I can definitely see this getting expanded on with more mechanics and talents :)

Cute visuals! Your hand drawn ina sprite really adds alot to the charm of this game. Wish there was a little more gameplay though. Maybe something like an ability to switch colors, and you are supposed to paint each takos with a color that suits their mood based on their dialogue?

Developer

thank you!! drawing the sprites is one of my favorite parts :) definitely want to give it more gameplay in the future and thank you for the suggestion c:

Obviously more of a visual demo, but I did enjoy it for what it is! I liked the detail of being able to talk to the takodachis both before and after coloring them. The use of paper mario-esque art style is also super cute!

Developer

thank you very much!!!  watching ina play paper mario a while back made me really want to see an ina game with a similar feeling to it

The art was cute. Loved how you hid the takos, using one camera angle really made me want to explore. Would love to see a full game with loads of takos hiding around all sorts of corners.

Developer

thank you very much!! i WAS considering expanding the tako mechanic across a bigger game to have more hiding spots for them..

ooh! A paper mario-inspired Ina game is genius, with the color and paint mechanics. The art style is also super cute and fitting! I can see a lot of potential for many ideas here!

Developer

thank you so much!!! I really want to expand on it sometime in the future
