  • This was super fun! The volume of the sound effects was perfect, no volume adjustment needed. At the beginning I didnt realize you also needed to move your mouse to aim the bottom of our character and THEN we left click and release to jump. The demo video also gives a really clear and great idea on what exactly the game is. Nice job!!
  • Cool game and very simple, but crisp. Still, not the most original, and eventually rage quit - which is common with climbers.

How does your game relate to the theme?
In Pow and Fall, the "one shot" theme is integral to the gameplay. The player controls a lizard with only one shot available at a time, which serves two purposes: it can either be used to jump or to break obstacles. However, after using the shot, the player must land on a flat surface to recharge it, adding a layer of strategy. This mechanic creates a challenging experience, requiring precise timing and careful planning to avoid falling while progressing through the levels. Regarding the leaderboards, there are two types. The first is a height leaderboard, visible in-game, which shows where other players have stopped, along with their nicknames. This adds a competitive and social aspect, as players strive to climb higher than others. The second is a speedrunning leaderboard with timers, though it's currently non-functional due to an issue with the Hyplay scoring system, where lower scores are incorrectly considered better. According to Dom, this will be fixed shortly after the game jam ends.

Fun and challenging. At first I missed some music, but the sound of nature in the background made perfect sense.

Good game! This feels like a perfect balance of fun and difficulty. I fell many times, but it never felt horrible or incredibly frustrating. The art and sounds are quite nice, and the jumping mechanic is very rewarding to learn. Nice foddian!

I made it to the top.
The character has a cute design.
Gameplay was also smooth.
It was a fun experience.

I like the style and the controls and all. but i'm not the type who like games like getting over it and rage games like that. you can call it skill issue :)

I loved and hated this game at the same time!

Love the core mechanic, the minimalistic music, and the cute feel to the game.

I ended up rage quitting after 132m, but it was a fun experience.

This is really cute , the lizard , the level , all is really cute ! But also quite difficult  ! GG for the game

Since this is a foddian type game, The level design is pretty much a very important part of the game, A very fine line of addictive yet frustrating, wrong level design can make tilt the scales towards frustrating very quickly, but you've done it really right for this game (risky but sign of a good dev imo) 👏 The other scores implementation is really a nice touch to boost competitiveness, definitely helps with player retention. Great artwork, great polish as well. UI could be better but then again thats secondary anyways so yeah, GGs

Wow I am terrible at this. I tried but I only got to like 60m before falling all the way back to the beginning (like 3 times lol)

I think part of why I sucked so much at this was beccause I was using a laptop trackpad insted of a mouse. I think though that it might be good to give the player a visual of their trajectory. This might make the game a bit less frustrating by providing a bit of leeway for the player while still maintaining the difficulty, similar to adding a few extra frames where you can jump after running off a platform in 2d platformers

this is the best interpretation of the theme i've played as of yet. All the best man!

Nice mechanic and art style, but a bit hard.

Your implementation of showing other's scores was really impressive. Good job!

I don't like climbers games (I'm easily enraged) but I see in this game some potential. Continue the dev

Classic rage game, could you make the first part easier so more names get piled up on the second section >:P just kidding, anyways great job!

Sweet, well executed and rage-inducing. Didn't get far. I don't wanna talk about it.

Really polished and hard, classic rage game. I got only to like 114m also is that a mouth or a mustache?

This was way more difficult than I thought it would be, but was super fun.

I should have paid attention at first to how the "shooting" worked because I didn't realize it was the same as the "launch" function.

I both enjoyed and got frustrated at this one (in a good way lol)

Great work
