As other commenters have said, super awesome game! I love demolishing the enemies, and the art is amazing. Theme implementation is great, and my only complaints would be that is ended too soon for what was being built up, and was a touch too easy, but that is understandable within the time constraints. Great work!

I think this one might be my favourite so far! The theme implementation is genius, it looks really nice and its genuinely super fun to play! In fact I was super disappointed that there wasn't any sort of  endless free play :(

I guess my main suggestions would be:
1) Add some background music (sadly the current lack of music will hurt your final rating)

2) Add endless free play; I just wanted to keep going man.

3) Somehow alert the player if there are enemies or shapes. It was really difficult to know where to focus my attention though I guess for the enemies you could argue that player is intended to stay so that they contribute to all lanes. But if you do that, you miss out on a lot shapes; maybe just automatically add shapes to the player's inventory instead?

Those are very minor improvements; there's not much to improve in regards to the main gameplay loop. Because of that, I would love if you were to add more maps, enemies, etc; there's a lot of potential here, so i'd love to see what you can do :)

Wow! One of the most complex and fun games I've played so far! Other than a little bit of balancing to make the endgame a bit more challenging, this is excellent for you first jam, well done!

Edit : It's kinda cool how a lot of us are actually new to Game Jams! :>

I think this is purely the most fun I've had in any jam entry so far!! Not only have you executed the idea wonderfully, the amount of polish already makes it feel like a near-to-release game! The first few rounds were a bit slow and repetitive with the shooting SFX (as others have mentioned), so adding some random pitch variation to each shot or creating some new shooting SFX to pick between would add a lot. This isn't as much of an issue in the later rounds, tho, as the sounds from the siblings add some complexity and randomness. I also found the player's gun to be too powerful in the later rounds as I could essentially one-shot the green squares (which I assumed to be tank enemies), so that might be something to look at. As others have also said, there were some slowdowns later on which may be a result of the browser, so maybe some optimisations could be something to look into - I'm assuming it runs better as a standalone application, tho! ^^

I absolutely LOVED the small details when each enemy was shot and the multiple sprites you drew for each of them, it really adds a lot of charm to the project!! The particle effects also add a bunch of juice and the geometric + pattern theme was implemented in the best way possible. And, without the time constraints, I'm sure you'd want to add some music and possibly boss fights/waves and extra game modes, but you've already done so well with the progressive and interactive tutorial throughout each round!

I'm even happier that I could beat the game! >:D Amazing entry, and I really do hope you continue with this project! It surely has a lot of potential, and you're making me want to make a game similar to this now ^^

I had the most fun in the jam with this game. I love how you could combine the attacks to let your siblings shoot some crazy laser beams and make them overpowered. I got some slowdowns during the end but otherwise, great game.

Thank you so much, glad you had fun playing!

there seems to be an issue with my engine that seems to slowdown on certain devices or browsers, its very inconsistent why I try to test it so I apologize for any issues, but thanks for playing all the same.

Really cool game but very difficult! I also couldn't find more siblings, and it took me a while to understand some things. Everything was happening all at once, and it needed very fast action. The game was very nice though, and especially the art.

:D

Thanks for the comments and for playing! I understand the quick information, definitely wish I spent more time to spread the info out and refine difficulty. But hey thats game jams!

OOO, a tower defense game. Honestly it’s really well polished and its funny how you can just pickup your siblings. The only thing I would add is some music but all in all, Well Done!

Developer(+1)

Thank you I appreciate it! Funnily enough I added some music while developing, but got cold feet and took it out because I didn't know if it would bend the rules of the jam too much. Of course that's  me forgetting the games are judged on music, and limited asset use is allowed lol. Thanks for playing!

This is really well done. not much else to say

extremely wellpolished. cool to see a sort active tower defense game as well. wish you could look up the controls after the tutorial tho. also the shoot sound makes my head hurt :L

Developer

Thanks for playing! Yeah I started getting annoyed by the shooting sound too lol. These are definitely somethings I'm fixing in a post jam update.

Great game idea! I really enjoyed replaying to find out what different levels of  weapon levels do!  I will say probably too hard at first and too easy once you get going, but that's just balancing!

Really cute idea!

It is in fact beatable! Amazingly polished, felt super good to play. My only complaint would be the balancing, the game was very difficult round one even using the towers but by round five the player got strong enough to clear the enemies unaided. However that's very minor (and if anything is fun in its own way), the game feels wonderful.

Also, the faces are a nice touch.

Developer

Thank you! yeah balancing was definitely something I needed to put more time towards, but I'm glad you had fun regardless!
