Got really impressed by the music, the art is great and relaxing, the effects when you break a wall are amazing, the game is really challenging and the idea is so cool! Great Game!
Love the aesthetic, the pixel art and palette are downright gorgeous. In terms of gameplay, I enjoyed trying to solve a winnable strategy for each level. Originally, I had tried to keep 4 segments open at all times, swapping between them as needed, but this often led to a prisoner escaping with seconds remaining, which set me back.
Eventually, I found my most consistent strategy was to open as many walls early as to drop the ventilation, before going on the defensive on the latter half of the progress meter. Experimenting with different level layouts kept each run enticing, as I'd have to consistently think on my feet.
Overall, I'd like a bit of leniency introduced to the game, rather than the all-or-nothing win condition that is currently being employed.
All together great work!
OH how could I forget, the music track was an absolute banger.
I appreciate your comment a lot. Just watched Adam play your game on his stream, you and your partner did a really good job
It took me a while to understand what I needed to do, but aside from that, the game was really well done.
Nice job!
love pixelart but this game is very very hard
Love the art work, for some reason I thought I had to let one out but not the other but it was fun. Nice Work!
Cool game, maybe a bit hard, because the prisoners are sometimes darting spontanously in a direction I would not have expected.
I had fun with the game once I realized the controls, It took me a while to realize I had to click on the walls to destroy them, though that might be me being dumb. I also felt like the ventilation bar started going down a little too late so even after I destroyed a couple of walls I still wasn't sure if it was the correct thing to do. Other than that I loved the art and the characters and the challenging gameplay!
The visuals and the idea are very cool, but in my opinion the game is a bit too hard. Anyway, good job!
Great art but I was not totally sure of the goal.
the ambient is very interesting, and I found the art very fun to watch, and a great game.
I did encounter a few bugs, like losing the level then winning suddenly. Apart from that the game is really unique and fun. its a really interesting mechanic that I would love to see expanded upon.
Great job!
Great work! Enjoyed playing this a lot. The calm music was a nice choice. It helped with the stress of watching the prisoners hoping they wouldn't dart to an exit. The visuals were really nice as well
Alright - I finally got around to playing the game. Here are my thoughts.
First of all, the way you did the theme was really cool. I had a lot of ideas when starting the jam, but never would I have dreamed of the idea that you are the room. Nice job there.
I'm not here to just say what is good, though. The gameplay could use a bit of work. The core gameplay idea seems quite good, but each room felt quite long, with very little margin for errors. a lot of the time it felt to me like I would be doing a level for a good couple minutes, and then I would make a single mistake and one of the prisoners would escape and I would just be back where I started. That feeling wasn't fun. Perhaps instead you could have done a score system, where as long as, say, half the prisoners did not escape, you would win the level, but each time a prisoner escaped, you were given a score penalty. That way, it would feel a bit less strict. Even so I was able to beat every level except for the challenge level so maybe the difficulty level is alright and I am just being nitpicky
I kind of wish there were more things you could do other than destroy walls, like interact with things inside the room. It could diversify the strategy a bit, which could be nice. For the first half of each level, things always felt a bit slow, so you were just kind of sitting around and occasionally reacting. Having a bit more to do there would be nice. I understand that this was made within 2-3 days though so that is asking for a lot. I am quite impressed with what you have done.
I loved the music. If you were the one who composed this, I applaud you for that. The same goes for the artstyle - I was really impressed with the presentation of the game. Even if you weren't the one who made the assets, I am impressed with how well they have been used - that takes some skill, especially for a slightly unusual game like this.
Overall, I think the concept of the game is really cool, and the core gameplay loop is pretty interesting. The gameplay feels a bit too unforgiving for my taste, but at the same time the polish that comes from the art and music makes this game feel really good.
Nice job!
I appreciate the criticism a lot, thanks for the review!
The idea is really cool and original, the game is quite hard and you really need to be patient xD Love it! Good job :3
Great game, I'm jealous of people who can make such great games in such a small amount of time!
This is well rounded for a game jam!
appreciate your support!
The gameplay is a lot of fun, and the artwork is gorgeous too, also the AI impressed me a lot! My only suggestion is to maybe make a proper turorial, it took me a while to understand what was i supose to do. Anyways great job, i had a good time :)
Cool Game Bro
Great art and game design, cool game!
this is a really excellent game.
the polish is impeccable, the sound is perfect, the music is perfect, the art is perfect, the ai is incredibly complex, and the game design itself tests the player's patience and punishes them harshly for getting greedy with ventilation.
i'm really not sure what you did for the ai, but whatever it was, it fooled me for a few brief moments into thinking that i was dealing with actual players moving around the prison.
excellent work!
