This is a pretty good little racer. Rotating around the center is a really good use of the theme too. I felt like I wanted a bit more control as I was playing though (acceleration, boost, more steering, etc) but still very good gameplay. Great job!

Very Cool 😎

This game looks great! And while this is racing game, I still found it pretty relaxing as well. Controls take a little while to get used to them, but once you do, it’s pretty fun. Love the space theme!

Good racing game. Looks really neat :)

Good job :)

Good concept and visuals! Very nice implementation of AI in this game, really enjoyed playing it!

Very interesting idea. It was a bit hard to gauge how close you'd end up on the ring in the beginning, but I kind of got used to it after a few tries. I really like the twist of having to rotate to hit the speed boosts, or choose to go to the centre of the ring to get the powerups.

Super polished visuals and interesting control scheme! I wish there were more obstacles to really show it off, it feels like a waste to be racing through empty space

It's Very Nice!!!

Fun game, good visuals.

I'm really in love the controls of this game. Never seen this concept in rail spaceship games. Also love the details like selecting random IA characters if you press the same character more than once. I would make the track smaller for a game jam so the game can be played full in a few minutes.

Congratulations!

Thanks! Great feedback.

Excellent name, excellent game. Unfortunately the controls seemed to interfere with my browser and ended up closing it :\

Developer

Thanks for playing! Don't know which button caused that, I'll have to test it out more in the future and create better keybindings in the future.

Seems like the sound options are a little off making the music overpower the sfx and when I try making the music softer it pretty much turned it off. As in just the slightestmove made the music almost unhearable.

However, the rotating effects is really nice and the gameplay easy to follow just never really found myself having to do much of anything as the AI was usually behind me and there wasn't enough hazards to worry about. Still, all effects are very cool and the fool is smooth.

Developer

Yeah, it's a little easy in the end. More time for testing would have helped. The options screen was added with 1 hour to go, so I know, but Jams, you know.

totally  :)

Liked what you did with the whole "space" effect

Cool concept, decent execution. It kinda reminded me of StarFox games (in a good way) due to the maneuvering on a fixed path gameplay. The music was a nice choice- it felt relatively relaxing.

A few things that come to mind are-

1. Add a clear indicator that a missile is headed towards the player.

2. Add the speed boosts (like the ones around portal thingies) in more spots around the track, this will make the gameplay feel slightly better as it will give the players to be more active in participation of the game and also makes their maneuvers more meaningful throughout.

3. It was kinda hard to know from a distance which power-up/pickup was which mechanic. You could add a colour (maybe glow as well) to each powerup to differentiate one from the other to make it more obvious from a distance.

4. A clear indicator is needed to know how much of the race is completed / still left.

Overall, it's a decent game with good potential. Nice work, though!

Developer

The controls actually started out more starfox, but I changed them mid way through to be more rotational per the theme.

Everything else, 100% already on the list, just Jams and running out of time. I was definitely over ambitious with features for a 2 day Jam. The powerup crates were slapped together with about 3 hours to go, so it was as good as can be.

Thanks for playing and giving feedback.

Took a bit to get used to the controls but it's pretty fun after that. I think you perfectly captured the feeling of frustration after being thrown back 2-3 positions from the lead by multiple red shells missiles

Developer

Thanks :D I also made sure to include a big blue shell missile that targets the person in the lead ;)

Nice, but needs space bananas.

Ah, I see where I've gone wrong. Thanks :D

I like the idea of Mario Kart in space. I'm the controls are hard to get used to but I'm sure when you get used to them you will have a blast.

Thanks :D

The controls are a litlle bit weird, but i like it! nice job <3

They didn't start out that way, but that's what I ended up with to meet the rotation theme. I didn't like them at first either, but they grew on me. Thanks for playing :D
