Did you work in a team?
Nope, just me! It's nice to have a deadline for something like this so I can get something done without it ballooning out and going forever.

Was the resolution a challenge?
Yeah, it was a bit but in a way it was helpful to have such a tight resolution as it forces you to 'think small' instead of going too over the top with the visuals and designs.

What did you learn?
Got to learn how to build to WebGL/make a browser game and all the considerations that come with that. Now I'm more comfortable with dealing with browser-based games/builds. Also learned a bit more about aspects of the physics system in Unity.

This is giving me flash vibes in a good way. I enjoyed it ^^

Wonderful visuals, audio, and controls for this game. Your cover art could very well be the best in the entire game jam.

I wasn't able to experience the deeper parts of this game because I got stuck trying to figure out how to pick up shells. Apparently you have to purchase an upgrade to pick up shells, and there's just no way I would have thought to do that, so I bailed from the game.

Very nice game. I liked that the game has emerging problems from the environment and ways to solve them through pumping, as well as the timer makes the passage more exciting

Beat it on my second try (love the game over screen)! Super fun and challenging. The hardest thing was not buying all the upgrades because it's so tempting. The use of resolution was amazing too, like im not even sure this sand searching mechanic would work as well with higher resolutions. 10/10, favorite submission Ive played so far. Would love to know how you programmed the sand mechanics

p.s. Could you imagine working at the ice cream shop and seeing someone punching crabs and screaming to get enough money for icecream? lmao

I think the visuals and sound are top notch (and I love the simple story), but I quit part way through because I didn't think I was making much progress in finding money. I was able to get an upgrade but I felt like I kept getting yelled at! I just want some ice cream! 🤣

Really well done.  Interesting mechanic and nice relaxing vibe.  I really liked the little intro cinematic with the still frames.  The music was really chill and added to the vibe of the game nicely, but It was a little repetitive.  I got a complaint my music was too repetitive too though so who am I to talk haha.  Really enjoyed the game though!

Fun game! I could really see this being expanded into something more, could be a great mobile game!

I also didn't realise there was an upgrade screen at first!

I really like this game, good use of physics and fitting into this theme! Some issues with the web version, but it ran smoothly after some lag.

Two things I think would work for it are;

  1. Make it clearer where you need to click to "grab" something. Found it hard sometimes, had to do a lot of frantic clicking. I'm not sure the best way it could be done, but maybe a sort of "tap" pixel effect to show where you last clicked?
  2. I did not realise there was an upgrade screen for about 2 minutes, maybe have it flash different colours when an upgrade is affordable?

Still a really good game!

Those are both great suggestions and are both issues I'd run into when playtesting it with friends.

I tried to indicate where you "click" by making that part of the player's pointer finger slightly darker but some visual effects like you mentioned would be way better and more noticeable.

Since people didn't notice the upgrades screen I have it so that the arrow to open the upgrade screen starts to flash green if you haven't opened it after 90 seconds to let you know it's there. Again great suggestion though, it would be more noticeable and also more user friendly if it flashed or changed colour whenever you can buy something.

Thanks for the great feedback!

Awesome, innovative experience, with A LOT of polish. Would make a great mobile game. The story / theme is also super charming and the controls feel responsive and smooth. Amazing entry, congratulations!

An amazing little gem of a game, with nice visuals and soothing music and SFX. The aim of the game is clear from the start with the nicely done cutscene. The gameplay is very neat, and great use of the resolution limitation. You managed to fit in the screen a lot of information, this is what I've struggled with the most with my game. Top score for sure!

Wow, this is an awesomely polished game with more than a few minutes of solid gameplay!

I really liked how you utilized the physics to create mechanics to later fit to the story. Awesome visuals, great utilization of resolution restriction, and so fun to play!

I'm glad I've come across this game, good job!
