Great job! Very stressful at some points, and the last bit was startling, but overall enjoyable!

Developer

Awesome thanks for playing, glad you enjoyed it!

Love the concept of being just a bystander with a single fate, its really cool. Pretty tense at times with those bugs coming out of nowhere, though would have liked a way to end a chase. Besides that, really cool little game!

Developer

Very true, need to play around more with the bug chase. The chase was actually sort of a happy accident that I'd like to play around more with. Thanks for playing!

Neat little start of a game. Needs a way to end pursuit of the enemy though, maybe player can jump into trunk of car or has a couple gas bombs to evade detection. Maybe the player can salvage through vehicles for items to use for survival. Would love to see more added to this game.

Developer(+1)

Those are actually really good ideas! Will definitely think of those if I revisit this idea again in the future which I'd very much like to. Thanks for playing!

Nice little game, i liked that there are thing happening on background, though i dont know how to pass the part with line of these drones/bugs, i managed to run to the end, at least i think so.  Explosion scared me a little bit, wasn't expecting that. I noticed that you can go between some of the cars, dont know if it is intentional, but i some places it helped me. Overall cool little game.

Developer

Yup, you handled it right, pretty much just a rush to the end at that point lol. Definitely wasn't originally intentional with the cars, but I actually liked how it worked. Thanks for playing!

I think I got to the end, messed up about halfway through and had one of the bugs chasing me and just started running. Had a whole swarm on me at the end when suddenly everything blew up.

That was meant to happen, right?

Good job with this though, it's a fun little game, no major bugs that I could see (except the ones chasing me) and I loved the visuals of having both foreground and background elements.

Developer(+1)

Excellent! That's precisely what's supposed to happen lol super short game. Ideally you're not supposed to be able to get away from the bugs, but I just rolled with what I had due to the time constraints. Thanks for playing!

Nice presentation and i like the gameplay perspective with the 2D / 3D elements mixed in together.

The premise of being a guy on foot trying to survive in a warzone where mechs stomp around is also very interesting i gotta say, and the stealth oriented gameplay is a perfect fit for that.

My main gripe is the difficulty, its very hard to play cause of the perspective and how fast the enemy bots are compared to the player, i was able to escape one to go to the next screen but after that i got immediately stuck on a car and by the time i figure out where to walk around it the enemies immediately killed me, the jump also feels a bit short as well :/

Other than that i like the idea shown here, and you’ve managed to convey the atmosphere quite well, my personal favorite detail is the glimpse at the giant mech in the background at the start of the level.

Needs some tweaks here and there but it’s a good start. Good job ^^

Developer(+1)

Yes! Definitely needs tweaking with car positioning and and level design in general with the wasps and everything. I'm probably going to remove the jump as well if I continue with this and add in breaks in the middle barrier so the player can go to the opposite side of the high way. Thanks for playing!

First of all, i love the title, this premise is very intriguing, great choice of words.

The game also looks very unique, very cool and stylized look, the atmosphere fits very well , also the sounds are very repetative. The wasp (or is it supposed to be a siren?) sound is such a short look that it’s easily noticable. I think the fire is short as well, but there it’s not as prevalent, but the other has just too easy of noticable patterns (2 low hums + 2 high hums, then repeat).

The stealth gameplay is quite nice, even so this perspective makes it hard not to get stuck on obstacles, and especially the lower wall is obstructing vision. (When you’re hugging the wall you don’t even the the light of the player anymore). Also, i don’t know what you need the jump for? At first i thought i can jump over the middle wall, but that didn’t seem to work.

I’ve gotten to the point where the 6 wasps are in a row, and have no idea how to beat it at that point. And since there are no checkpoints or anything, trying this multiple times gets frustrating very fast.

Additionally after seeing the premise, i’m a bit confused what wasps have to do with all of this? :D Till now i haven’t seen any mechs (except the background), maybe they’ll come later, but up to this point i feel a bit cheated by the premise. :O

Developer

Thank you! yeah the audio was super rushed because i had one less day than I thought so i just threw some things together in a couple minutes lol.

The perspective definitely needs some polish and I was considering taking out the jump but then I just never remembered to actually do it. It was part of a template for movement that I modified for my own needs, at one point I thought maybe I'd use the jump but never did.

So if you try, you can outrun the wasps, and at the point you're talking about I hoped the player would just go for broke and run for it. The next screen over from the six wasps is where the end is and there's a bit of mech action ;) I wanted to stick in a checkpoint system, but the way I had the game set up and with my current skill set I couldn't think of how to do one before submission time.

Honestly I just had some wasp assets and wanted to use them so I used them for the enemies. The mechs play a bit more of a background part, but they're in the game at least lol

Submitted

Hmmm, yes ofc i tried running, but would always die instantly the next screen? Not 100% why.

Developer

Yeah there are cars that sort of block your movement that are in a blind spot between screens, so if you are stopped for even a second they tend to get you. Positioning of the cars in relation to the screens needs some polish as well lol
