Use of the limitation
Instead of a typical fishing game putting the player on a boat and catching fish out of the water, this game takes place on land where there is no water in sight. The player runs a fishmonger stand and cuts up fish in a cooking mama like minigame.

super cute concept I struggled to figure out how it worked in the beginning but once I did it was pretty fun, great job! :)
Love the art and concept a lot! Maybe if there was some sort of indicator that shows you were to cut and what tool to use next as you're playing that could help. I did find I was doing things and thinking "Is this working" while having to look down at the controls page to make sure I wasn't missing anything. Then after a few tries I got it in the right spot for it to work. Sound would help a lot there, letting the player know something is happening. Can't wait to see more! Really well done
So cute! I love the art 💗 It took me a little while but I figured out all the controls + I managed to fillet all the fish :)) Will definitely be checking for updates on this!
Very much like the art :) Was a little tricky figuring out what to do, but overall enjoyable :) +10 points for cats
The artstyle is great! +bonus points for cute cats!!
I like the concept. controls were confusing. also confusing on how to get the fish on your board. I would recommend just putting a fish on the board starting. Once you get passed controls and that it's fun!
The art was great and a good take on the theme and limitation. Sometimes I wasn't sure if the tool was interacting properly which lead me to clicking around a lot.
For anyone previously having trouble with the game window being too big, I posted a new update with it downscaled to 1280x720 so hopefully more people can play our game!
The game is BEAUTIFUL, i could see a full cooking game using this style
The mechanics were a bit confusing, not sure if I was doing things wrong,
I managed to get half a salmon fillet, without spindles, is that the end of the demo?
Excellent work, super pretty and with tons of potential
Thank you for the kind words! You should be able to filet both sides of the salmon. If you were in play mode there should be 5 salmon in the cooler for you to play around with. One side of the fish has pinbones in it that are harder to see due to an error in the model that I haven’t corrected yet. I’ll fix it when we have an updated model! Stay tuned, we’d like to do more with this framework
Ok, noted!
Having some feedback (particles / sound) for what works and what does would go a long way.
Yep, that's on the to do list! I added some visual effects today for successes. We'll hopefully have much better tutorials in the future, we spent a decent amount of time working on a buying/selling system that we couldn't get in for the jam and had to rush the how to play section a little bit at the end. But it's good to know where we can go to improve!
Could you provide some instructions on how to play this game?
It looks really nice, but I am completely lost at what to do in it.
there is a How to Play button in the top left corner of the main menu with instructions!
Oh yeah, my bad, I totally missed it as I instantly went for the «Play» button.
No problem! In hindsight I think it would have been better to just incorporate the how to play straight into the play button instead of a separate button. But I learned!
I like the art style, and the gameplay was quite fun too.
I hadn't played before the visual feedback for actions was put in, but having those made it easier to know I was doing the right thing, good job!
Hi everyone! Thanks for the great feedback. I agree with you all that Ocean did an excellent job with the visuals and the lack of feedback on actions is jarring. I added some visual feedback elements for the different actions and updated the itch page. Let me know if this makes things better! Sorry we couldn't add any sound, we couldn't find a sound artist and ran out of time to try and do it ourselves. We have a lot of things in the works that didn't make it into the jam so check back!
Although visually appealing, I couldn't get to prepare a single fish, no audio-visual feedback made it harder. The art is nice and your cats seem very cute.
The art is nice well done on that. But I couldn't get used to the controls I kept getting stuck.
It's a nice and unique idea well done!
Difficult to play without doing a little back and forth with the How to play section, but overall amazing art quality! Could use some vfx or anything to indicate that a step is done (like cutting the filet)
I struggled with the feedback on this one, it wasn't clear to me that my actions were actually doing anything. Visually it looks great. Gameplay would just be greatly improved with some SFX responses to actions you're taking.
i really really like the art in this one! i wish there was better feedback (visual or auditory) with what's happening when i'm descaling or cutting, but it's a fun little simulation!
I really like the visuals of the game! I was a little confused on the second step though, I think the game lacks feedback when you are performing an action. I think this game is great! Enjoyed it, Great work!! :D
wish I could give 6 starts on presentation...
really cute style, nice cats!
