Super cute game! I love the concept and the entire experience was so simple - I hope you keep expanding on this game :D Cheers!

thank you<3

The concept was very unique. With the theme "cooking" I didn't think about cooking humans. The pixel art is also really nice, I encountered two very minor bugs but besides that it's really good.

Developer

Hello, thank you for playing, which bugs did you notice?

Submitted

If you drop the human during the tutorial you can no longer pick them up.

Also, I couldn't reuse plots to plant tomatos. If I filled the entire plot with tomatoes, and then harvested everything, I could no longer plant new ones.

I love this game. I can really appreciate a game that teaches its players to prioritize throwing people in an oven right away lmao. But seriously the controls/movement is really intuitive, and it's very easy to understand the game, also great art style. Probably the best submission I've played so far.

Developer

Thaaaaaank you so much Jabba

I really enjoyed this! I felt the concept was very unique. Roasting people to feed customers? Oddly satisfying. Everything is packaged nicely, didn't notice anything that bugged me. Well done!

Thank you, sir

Pretty fun game! Its really fun to play and the music works pretty well in it.

The order of some of the objects tends to be a bit off. The meat in the speech bubble is in front of the player but the speech bubble itself is behind. The text decreasing in size a bit while appearing also tends to look a bit off.
The sound effects for giving things to your clients also is a bit too loud.

Developer

thank for your feedback, ill try to fix these problems :)

In the tutorial, I dropped the human to close to the table and softlocked the game haha !

But yeah it's a really great game !

Developer

Thank you for playing, one guy in the coments has already noticed this problem <3

This plays really nicely, looks great, and has a great tutorial and difficulty curve. Fantastic jam game!

I just wish there was some way of dealing with the knight besides avoiding their attacks. I'm also not sure if having to restart the level when you die is the best way to punish the player for dying, it feels tedious to have to play the level again. Maybe you should add a timer to make it a speedrunning game and simply stun the player for a while when they get hit, maybe they also drop what they're holding in such a way that it gets spoiled. Not sure if that would lead to soft locks though.

Developer(+1)

hmm, you are definetely right about stuns and droping holding items when player gets hurt. Thank you so much. I didn't do any ways to attack knights because of jam's limitation(i have already used two buttons, so i dont have a button to make attack)

Submitted

I was think maybe you could do something like putting a twig in the oven makes it catch on fire and then running into a knight while holding a burning stick makes them stop attacking you and run away for quite a while.

It was definitely a tough limitation; I struggled with it as well for my game.

thx, ill think about it

I really liked this game and the music is nice too. I've heard that music in blue television games's outro. Where can you find free music?

Developer

name of this song: '8 Bit Summer!" by HeatleyBros, unfortunately, i dont know how to find free music for games( my friend told me about this song

Submitted

how do you know it's copyright free?

Developer

Text under youtube video 8 bit summer says:

Q: Can I use it in my Game? A: If the game is a non-profit/free / school project then you can use without a license. If the game is for-profit/commercial then grab a license here:

For theme "Baking" I wasn't expecting this, and the tomatos really remind me of Stardew Valley.

The last few levels were tough, but I did it! A surprisingly relaxing game, given the premise. Also, I think I soft-locked myself in the tutorial by dropping the kid - I wasn't able to pick him back up again. Overall, very good!

Developer

Thank you for notice, ill fix this trouble in the tutorial

Fun game! I did find the levels with the knights a little frustrating though, simply because movement is so fiddly. Also, I liked the music you used for this!

Thank you, <3
