This one had a really cool atmosphere! The audio and visuals work well, fits the theme, and I also liked the writing (are Neuro’s lines from somewhere? It feels familiar, but can’t put my finger on it). I also appreciate building a “spooky game” without jumpscares.

Developer

Thanks for playing!

You're right by the way, the whole thing is based on Neuro's schizo rants, some lines are direct quotes :)

Wow, this is actually pretty cool, visually good, the music makes me shit my pants, the gameplay is smooth and cool.

Just to be a little be of an asshole, I'm a really nervous person so being stuck on the text for "this long" makes me want to go faster, so being able to speed up/skip the text would be cool :3

Very good job!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing!

Fully agree with the need for speed up/text skip btw, but alas, time ran out ;)

Really cool game with interesting premise. Enjoyed annoying the malevolent entity. Reminds me of Stanley Parable. Good job!

Developer

Thanks for playing and glad you had fun!

I've always wanted to make a game with this type of movement, it just feels so cool.

This is a very good submission and i honestly didn't find any conspicuous faults with the game, although i must say, a classic 2005 jumpscare would've been awsome.

I must say, very nicely done!

Developer

Thanks for your review!

Took inspiration from first-person dungeon crawlers for the general gameplay :)

I'm not a hard-boiled horror player or creator so left out jumpscares haha... But maybe next time!

Good execution on the theme and overall atmosphere. Controls are snappy and satisfying.

Developer

Thanks!

Developer

Hi everyone, in case you get stuck, a map and guide have been added under a spoiler tag in the main game page. Have fun!

Submitted(+1)

Very atmospheric, but I got lost while trying to get the good ending. I could only get caught so many times before losing my patience. :P

Developer

Yeah that's fair, some of the hazards were a bit too hazardous it seems...

Thanks for playing and reviewing!

Developer

If you're willing to give it another try, a map and guide have been added to the main game page!

Submitted(+1)

I solved it with the map. The north west room gave me a lot of trouble, but I think I didn't get that the enemies were all on static paths during my first playthrough. With the limited viewport it felt like they were chasing me or appearing out of nowhere sometimes.

Cool game :)

I had fun, got both endings, and got scared a couple of times. The challenges themselves are very good and challenging

I wish there were a way to make the dialogue go faster by clicking the mouse or something (it's probably just my ADHD)

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing, glad to hear you had fun :)

Submitted(+1)

I got both endings. It is interesting enough for it to keep my attention and try to get them. Its very mysterious and intriguing, and the visuals do help sell that vibe. I'd love to see what you can make next

Developer

Thanks for your feedback and for playing it all the way through!

The game is really polished, especially love the visual style!

This is easily the most atmospheric game I've played in the jam so far, and that says a lot because I  played and rated 25 other games so far.... fantastic work! The vibes in this game are impeccable and hit just right.

Got the bad ending, but I might try to get the other ending at some point too,

Unity dev tip: You can have a button that re-load the current scene if you want to save work on resetting the game hehe (unless your variables live in a static class, then truly rip)

Developer(+1)

Thank you for the kind words :)

I'm starting to see a pattern that the good ending should have been a bit easier to find ^^'

Appreciate the tip about the scene reload! sadly I committed the cardinal sin of programming and made a fat singleton that controls half the game lmao

Submitted

Programming practices be damned, this is a jam! Attaching a script that controls most of my game in my own jam game. As you can see, it's not pretty lmao. But it works, and that's all that counts here!!

I think it's good that the good ending is challenging to get, but maybe some of the individual tougher segments in it could've been made just a tinyyyy bit easier. Just a wee bit.

Developer(+1)

Maybe I'll just slap a dark souls tag on the game and pretend the good ending is supposed to be hard to get haha

Also... give that grid manager a raise

Submitted(+1)

Looks very awesome, love it! I'd love Vedal to play this one.

It was difficult for me to orient in the space (I honestly think it's just a skill issue though), and the enemies that wouldn't let me look around properly made it give up after finding just three thingies: too bad cause I'd love to find out the ending ~_~

Developer

Ahh I was afraid of the enemy movement patterns being a bit too hard, even slowed most of them down just before submitting haha.

Thanks so much for playing! If you'd like, I'll send a map of the maze :)

Submitted

I'd love that, thanks a lot! I'm lisadikaprio on discord, feel free to send the map

Submitted(+1)

thanks for the map, ripbozo, nice one!

This was a nice fun game. I love how you focussed on the details even tohough it's a game jam. Good work .

For some reason I couldn't get the file to unzip.

Developer

Gave it a quick test just now and it's working on my end, any specific issue you ran into? I'd be glad to help!

Submitted

I keep get the Error 0x8096002A

Developer

This seems to be a common issue for Windows 11 when a zipped file contains 3d models. Have you tried unpacking it with 7zip or Winrar?

Submitted(+1)

that fixed it thanks!

It's a fun mystery game with spooky vibes! The graphics of the handheld gave me a little vertigo but I really liked the details in the background and the game feels like it's very well made. Very polished in the sense that it feels whole with no bad junk standing out

Developer

Thank you! I can see how the game's perspective might a bit stomach turning, will keep it in mind for any future games, great feedback :)

I wouldn't worry about it too much since it might also just be a me problem hahaha
Haven't slept or eaten much these past 3 days so I might just be very sensitive to it rn.
