Description
The genre is orchestral, however, it is orchestral limited to strings, clarinet, and percussion, and with a small amount of fusion elements, such as a chiptune triangle wave synth. "The Hours of the Noon" ideally acts as an overworld theme for a small JRPG in which the stakes are small. It was composed in DAW, by way of mouse and piano roll.

Artist comment:
What does it feel like to leave home and begin an adventure in the outside world?

Theme:

Two Worlds

How does it fit the theme?
The track alternates between slow string chords and melodic sections with a greater rhythmic component: the thoughtfulness and melancholy of departure from the world of home, into the adventure and exploration of the world outside.

I really like how much variety this song has to offer while still feeling like a coherent piece of music. I can very well imagine having this in the background of a game for quite a while and not even noticing when the track loops (okay, maybe except for that wind sound, that was pretty distinct (but not in a bad way)).

I think one thing that could make this song even better would be to have some more catchy melodic main parts inbetween. I do like that a lot of different instruments "get a say" in your piece, but maybe it would be nice to have a clear main part, at least for a little while.

I agree with this. While there is, I hope, a succession of reasonably strong melodies, you're absolutely correct that there is no single catchy melody to really elevate it into something stellar.

Lovely use of synths and orchestral instruments. Creatively composed!

It felt like listening to the song took me on a journey, which is quite fitting. Solid work.

Great work! I loved the choice of instruments and the atmosphere!

Love this song! It has the perfect atmosphere for the overworld theme it intends to emulate. The instruments are all great, with the exception of the chiptunes which feel kind of out of place. Apart from that, Great work!

Good choice of percussion. Adds an adventurous vibe! I like the subtle melodies with that NES-y square lead. Also good polish with the little harp arpeggios and bell chimes in between.

I like the atmosphere it built up. Very adventurous for the most part, with a couple calmer spots in it. Good work.

I really liked this! If I were to nitpick, I feel like there's a bit too much reverb in the overall mix of the song. It might be a global setting in the orchestral patch you used. Parts get a bit washed out. I really love the variety you have with all the parts and the interplay between the orchestral and chiptune styles.

Solid Melody. I can imagine this in a fun, simple RPGmaker Game.
