Message from the artist
This is the first time I've done any type of jam. I tried to make a song that was super impressive and complicated and weird that would end up saving the world. But my commute was too long, the and my work schedule did not agree with the jam schedule. So, many of the pics you will see are progress shots. I had a melody and other instruments, and right before I was about to give up on participating, I started cutting back until I liked what I had. It's simple, it's soft, and calming and I like it, so I hope anyone who listens likes it too.

Difficulty

B (Hard)

Make a piece that has the same musical notes both forwards and backwards but doesn’t have to be an identical recording.

Nice one, it's calm, it's clean, it's the kind of track that would perfectly fit in a playlist "soft piano for study" to help people concentrate while working.

Developer

Thank you, I admit I've listened to many of these playlists.

Wonder soft piano tone! I wish I could listen to this piano being played for hours. Well done!

I think you did an excellent job in paring it down! We love to see another piano piece

Developer

Thank you very much. The world can always use calming pianos.

Sweet minimalist piece, I enjoyed, well done for first game jam.

Developer

Thank you very much!

Congrats on completing your first jam! This is really lovely and atmospheric, and I think the simplicity adds rather than detracts

Developer(+1)

Thank you. I had a lot of fun I can see why so many people do them. A Simple  complexity is always something I strive for because I tend to overcomplicate everything. Thank you again!

Absolutely gorgeous tone on the piano, I'm getting some breath of the wild vibes here!

Developer

That's so kind. Thank you. BoTW holds a special place in my heart.

Very nice chords! I agree on the Minecraft vibes. Well done!

Developer(+1)

Thank you very much. A solid and layered chord is a beautiful thing. I've never played minecraft but I do love C418s work.

This gave me Minecraft-ish vibes like chilling in a field on a windy day (or something like that). Nice job, really calming!

Developer(+1)

Why thank you. I love the imagery. I very often sit in windy fields and listen to the trees.

Nice, it’s my first time in a jam too and I had similar thoughts on what I wanted to make. Ended up also going with something more intentional and to the point! It’s worked really well for you here! The piano shines really nicely without having too much to compete with and the track still has nice interesting dynamics to keep it from feeling flat. Nice work!

The desire to go crazy with instruments is so real...

I really like the harmony, it has a very zen-like quality! Makes me think of the overworld themes from BOTW!

Developer(+1)

Thank you. That is very kind of you. BOTW is my favorite.

simple and effektive. sounds like looking into the horzion. would be really nice in a game

Developer

Thank you so much, I like your description.

First notes made me think it was gonna be Dirtmouth from Hollow Knight!

I don't believe this would fit the Challenge C since the echo of the piano wouldn't sound the same reversed. Looking at your screenshots I see one part that looks like it would be a palindrome so I think your piece fits challenge A more than C though the description of them is messed up so it doesn't really matter.

It is a very pretty piece!

Developer

That's a high praise, Hollow Knight has such a beautiful soundtrack. You're correct about the challenges, It was 4am when I was filling out the information and I quite honestly couldn't tell if I did B or C. I think it's a better fit for A or B, than C since the notes are in reverse order, but sound different when played back, because of the reverb and note ends. It's hard to tell from the images and the wave form, but at 40s, all the notes go in reverse, but because I didn't change or match the endings of the notes, the reverse side sounds slightly different and has different timing.

Simple, but sweet and emotional. Thank you!
