  • I really enjoyed the game! I enjoyed the platformer style and it reminded me of a few other games (I can't remember the name's off the top of my head.) The artstyle was great and the soundtrack fit the game well. The star collecting and the timer made me love the game with my competitive side. It was great and very fun to play!!

Yes

Summarise your game!
TERA is a physics-based platformer where you play as a legendary sword. Flip, bounce, and swing through a mystical castle, mastering precision and momentum to overcome challenges and reclaim your purpose.

Please explain how your game fits the theme:
In this game, the player embodies a legendary sword, relying on precise flips, bounces, and swings to traverse a treacherous castle, fully embracing the physicality of being a weapon. Movement mechanics emphasize the challenge of mastering momentum and trajectory, requiring the player to think like a tool wielded for a purpose rather than a traditional character. The game’s design highlights the idea that true power comes not just from being a weapon, but from how skillfully one learns to control and adapt to its limitations.

I’ve already seen a couple of other games like this, but I really appreciate the general physics and flow of Tera. The animations and sound effects add a lot to the feel of the game and I think it’s a great balance of quirky controls and simplicity. Not too hard, not too easy. Overall extremely well balanced. Great job!

Developer

Thank you! I am glad to hear that, level design took so much testing. :D

I can't get over how genius this game is. It is simple, the physics are consistent (which is very VERY important), the sound and visual queues are great and, most of all, it's fun! I've never really been a fan of rage inducing games, but I caught myself not only not getting that mad, but actually enjoying all of my experienced with Tera. It provided me with a challenge, but it actually had consistent work behind how the sword moves and behaves, which made me not get frustrated as easily, since I felt like each time I threw myself onto a rock I felt a sense of pride for having figured out the ammount of strength and the angle in which I had chosen to do so. The UI is also great, the art is simple, yet charming and I love that the gameplay is so polished you even had time to add the plus challenge of the stars! I think my only (and not really that bad) complaint is that the level design got a little bit too tough too fast for me, but that may be because I suck at these type of games. I'm sure this will be a fine contender for the runner ups and maybe even top ten! 10/10 would become a sword again

Very well done. The indicators for where the sword will fly are so good. I am notoriously bad for those games and that helped my make it way further in your game! I loved it!

It feels too good when the sword stick in the ground

Th UI was so good, and the game was very smooth to play

a great take on the theme!

Very literal ahhaha

Developer

Yeah, only needs someone more to stab besides the materials~ Thanks! ^^

Really good job on this one! Extremely polished, don't have much to add other than how well made it is!

Developer

Thank you, much appreciated! :)

The graphics, UI elements, etc. look super professional!! I feel like i didn't have much agency when it came to the rotation of the sword, like pressing A and D didn't do much. And the sword didn't seem to fly as far as I wanted / expected.

Congrats on a really nice game tho!

Developer

Yeah, it's hard to fiddle with it and find the perfect combination of properties. It does depend a bit on what angle you're stuck in and that too. Thanks for the feedback, much appreciated!

Very nice game! This would be awesome on mobile.

Developer

Thanks! It does already somewhat work on mobile devices(Tested it out and added some touch functionality)

This is really cool! I'm terrible at it, but that's all on me! :D

Very well put together, you should definitely be proud!

Developer

Yeah it takes time to get used to~ Thanks ^^

Woah! This is so polished and finished. I played through 3 levels, I had tons of fun with the mechanics. The amount of polish and game juice made it sooo much better.

Developer

Thank you for playing! Appreciate it a lot. :)

This is neat. You implement it so well, mine almost in the same idea in a way. Anyway thanks for visiting my page :D

Developer(+1)

Yeah, we did have similarities,  but you got ahead on the enemies part! Thanks for the comment :)

Submitted(+2)

I like this a lot. Yours is way more polished than mine that's for sure lol. I like the idea of the weapon sticking and had a similar idea but could not get it to work right.

Developer

Ah just different styles too~ Oh you tried the same? Did you also have problems with the sword trying to teleport away when getting stuck? Thanks for the comment~

I basically wanted the game to work the way it is now but for it to also stick to walls and things. I recall giving up pretty early in the process to make it work so I don’t remember the main issue. It basically just would not work as if I did nothing some reason. I will just assume it’s my experience since I am very new to this but it was probably something stupidly simple that was missing.
