Fun gameplay although limited ammo could have been better showcased with a ammo count. Love the use of a leaderboard system allowing a sense of replay ability.

Developer

Thank you :)

Would love it if you could get the UI working for the ammo but other than that great game

Developer

Is it not working for you? I know there is an issue where the gun locks up but the UI is functional as I intended, or do you just mean it should be more descriptive?

Thanks for playing!

The type of game I’d sink quite a bit of time into once the flow state struck. I’m already 4th on the leaderboard – cool feature to include btw.

A minor point: the gun/ammo UI in the bottom right corner might be inverted in its emptying animation – I found it a bit unintuitive to see the gun and clip go from black to white as if it was filling instead of emptying. An added related preference - when totally empty I would like a melee option, even if it’s just a feeble punch.
{Edit: I see someone mentioning a knife option in the feedback, so I must have missed that somehow, whoops}

Gameplay wise, I’d suggest highlighting the dropping of loot mechanic’s strategic importance a little more in the explanations – I didn’t connect that I could move faster for fighting before going into extraction running mode and then pick up the dropped stuff on my way out again. Some additional fine tuning with the aiming and movement would also enhance the experience, but I realise it’s more than fine for a jam’s limited scope.

Finally, I really liked the juiciness of the landmines going off – scratched an itch of mine to laugh at myself for blowing up along with a bunch of enemies through some bad timing.

Developer

Thank you for the detailed comment!

I agree with everything you said and I think there is a lot of room for the game to grow!

I would have loved to be able to explain the mechanics better but I ran out of time unfortunately!

Developer

Its not inverted btw, that is how I intended it, but I can see how that might be confusing.

The game is cool and fun, though it was a bit confusing at first for me, since I usually hang around to shoot instead of progressing. Maybe that's just my weird brain in action. Having limited ammo was challenging, though it was easy enough to just use the knife without dying.

Developer

Yeah, the text at the start does say to progress but I know its not the best way to show someone what to do, just didn't have time to do it properly.

And yeah I wanted the game to be hard but also survivable so its a difficult balance!

Thanks for playing :)

I had so much fun! I love it! Love the look of the game, the gameplay and the zombies.

Developer(+1)

Thanks!

It was a challenge to make all the art on the first day but I feel like I got alot done.

The zombies AI are very dumb though, at least they are zombies so it works XD

I enjoyed everything  about this.

So much fun. Easy to play and is easy on the mouse.

I liked to reload sfx sound and the music was cool.

I loved the strafe and forward movement you decided on.

The use function on the crates was  a good choice.

Really cool idea for a wave of enemies game when you are stuck in different scenarios.

Developer(+1)

Thank you!

The loot mechanic was something I've always wanted to try, to have sort of world space UI elements, so I'm glad I got a small part of that implemented.

Back in the day Splinter Cell had this system where all the UI in the game was cast on walls around you which I thought was so cool.

Anyway, thanks for playing :)

Awesome game bro I really liked it. The controller is fluid and shooting mechanics feel very impactful. Great job!

Developer

Thank you!

Really liked the concept, and feel like it fits the theme very well, though when I saw the bushes actually moving I thought you may have made going through some of the terrain give you supplies, and wasted a bit of time on that. Overall some UI stuff is where I think this game could improve as I thought I had full ammo but turns out I was out. Also some pathfinding issues with the AI if I position the player next the car, the seem to get stuck pretty consistently and allow for some free shooting, maybe want to make the car destructible, or assuming they are on a NavMesh a wider birth to the car as they don't seem to be able to move it anyways, unlike the boxes.

Developer(+1)

Thanks!

And I agree, it definitely needs a lot of work to become a full experience but its pretty fun nonetheless!

Thanks for playing.

Developer

And I agree, the UI, map generation and enemies need some work!

But, its just a game jam game, with time it could be good :)

Excellent and very exiting game to play 😁.

Reminds me of games like Call of Duty and PUBG, but simple and fun to play ( no toxic players and streamers to always nock you out 😂 ).

The world building is excellent and simple, with very easy instructions to play.

The AI difficulties are well set. Limited ammo makes every thing fun and tactical after running out of ammo.

Overall it's a well planed and EXCELLENT Game 👌👌💯💯

Developer

Thank you for the kind words! Im glad you liked it :)

Super cool! Felt great to play, specially the land mines and holding in the trigger to rapid fire. I was clicking each time (Probably out of habit from playing Super Game Jam Developer :D). Great job on getting so many 3D assets in there? Did you create everything from scratch or did you have some old models to use?

Developer

Thanks! I would have loved to add more guns but time ran out!

I made everything from scratch for the jam, its a lot of stuff but its also a pretty simple style with everything atlassed to one texture. Its a style that I developed along with the shader in the game on the first day.

I did everything for the jam in the jam! Worked non stop haha.

Believe it or not I had a lot more planned but ran out of time haha.

Thanks for playing :)

Developer

I also worked with my time pretty well to be honest for example when you walk through the foliage it has a little sound and animation, but I made one generic animation that I then just re-used and tweaked a bit.

I would have liked to add more animations like reloading and jumping but ran out of time!

My biggest regret is that I had no time to add better logic to the enemy AI, they are pretty...zombie-ish XD

Guess how many times I blew myself up with a landmine?? More times than I'd like to admit.

I got too confident in my zombie-slaying abilities, chose the "difficult" option and was promptly eaten alive 🤣👏

Developer

Yup, those land mines are quite the hazard!

Did you manage to extract at least? XD

This is amazing!  Great job as always :)

Developer

Thank you!

Really well put together, super polished :)

Thanks!

This is a great game jam entry! It’s a lot of fun right from the start. Well done on creating something so enjoyable in such a short time!

Developer

Thanks!

10/10 amazing job. Game is very fun and executed amazingly. Love the detail of walking through the bushes having a sound effect. Ran into one bug where (not sure if this is what caused the bug) i picked up 2 ammo packs in quick succession, picking up the second ammo pack got rid of all my ammo and for the rest of the run i was unable to collide with other ammo packs on the floor (unable to pick them up). Great job making this! especially in such a short time span.

Developer(+1)

Thank you!

I tried to focus on some small stuff like the bushes and such to add some details.

I know about that bug, but I am unsure why it happens, if I had time to properly QA I might have solved it, doesn't happen often at least!

Great Game! Great highscore! You should be very proud xD

Developer

Proud of the High Score or the game? XD

Submitted

Both! Mostly the game though xD You did a very great job.
