it was lot of fun!

This was a fun game to play, it had a lot of freedom in how you could tackle the problems. However, I had some trouble with the physics in the game and it felt inconsistent at times. Sometimes I had to replay levels multiple times with the same solution and the result would be different. I did have a lot of fun in the last level messing with the physics. as I was able to get the magnet to shoot up towards the flag like so:

Developer

I'm sorry about the physics simulation issue. We will try our best to fix the problems.

Such an excellent little game, many kudos to you!

I love this game!
Its so cool and funky!
Good Job!
The last level was awesome to play!

Really well done with the mechanic. The game also has a cute and consistent artwork. The last level was pretty fun to figure out. I appeared to be easy at first but the amount of ways we can solve it it was so fun. Out of the fifty-eight septillion one hundred forty-nine sextillion seven hundred thirty-seven quintillion three quadrillion forty trillion fifty-nine billion six hundred ninety million three hundred ninety thousand one hundred sixty-nine ways to arrange the tiles, only fifty eight thousand two hundred and sixty would be able to finish the level. Hence it's a hard level.

Thank you for playing! It seems you're quite skilled in mathematics!

Nah just basic math.

As there are 6 rows and 9 columns there are total 54 blocks.

As each block can either be empty, positive or negative, it has 3 states.

So total combinations are 3 ^ (6 * 9)

If this is not basic, idk what is πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™‚οΈ

Congratulations on the submission. I see some similarities on games like mario vs donkey kong, but more physics based

The level where there is a full grid of possibilities was a total turn off for me. The physics aspect is not very fun when you have to test, watch, fail, and retry with just a small increment of knowledge each time. It makes the puzzle feel more like work.

If you go the 'physics' route, you can make more open ended levels with more room for experimentation and remove the frustrations of having to retry and reset the level. Maybe you could automatically load the last setup and also allow to remove tiles from the world. You can also make the simulation a bit faster and add a shortcut to start the simulation, like pressing space (or maybe rerun the simulation automatically on loop, and the player can iterate on the level on the go? Kinda removing a 'fail state'. In this scenario, two or more characters could be simulated simultaneously with a small delay between them, but would not interact with each another, and the first one to get to the flag makes you succeed on the level)

Otherwise,  you can go the 'puzzle' route, with more predictability and precise placement to succeed, like the first levels of the game. In this scenario, the game would feel more like mario vs donkey kong, where every spring makes the character jump the same height every time.

Mixing these 2 I think won't work. I was having fun until the last level

I hope this feedback helps the team :) good luck!

Hi, first of all, thank you for playing!

Our design approach leans more toward a "puzzle" style, where ideally all magnetic ranges and forces should be consistent. However, due to the tight schedule, we couldn't address the physics-related bugs in time, which is admittedly a bit regrettable.

Thank you for providing these constructive suggestions! we have greatly benefited from them.

Understandable! And that's the nature of a game jam, right?

You're welcome! And good luck on sanding these bugs off the game

Really cute game! Very polished! Like the rest I wish there were more levels haha

Developer(+1)

Thank you! New levels are on the way, haha!

I found a bug on level 3 where if you don't solve it first try, the correct solution always results in the guy falling down and not traveling all the way across. Try placing SSSN, restarting, then placing the correct solution of SSSS. Other than that, this is a good unique concept!

Developer

Got it! We'll find a way to fix the errors!

Very nice. Encountered some minor bugs but otherwise it's really good. Short and sweet.

Developer(+1)

I'm glad this game brought you joy!

The lack of levels here is a bit of a tragedy, since these mechanics have huge potential, would love to see this expanded. Game is really fun and well designed, with nice polish and art, nice game.

Developer(+1)

Thanks, it is a shame that we don't have time to make more levels but I'm glad you like it!

I have completed the whole game. The game looks very cool, it is well polished. I know that you have uploaded your inru with all the first ones, it is a pity that you did not have enough time to make more levels. You are great, good luck in the future

p.s. sorry, I made the game in a team and I did not upload our game to the jam, so I can not rate your game. Here is our game https://itch.io/jam/wmj2024/rate/3212971

Thank you! We plan to make more levels and fix the bugs in the future.

Submitted(+3)

very satisfying and polished, great job!

1 bug : my guy fell over and couldn't cross the finish line on the first level

Developer

Thank you! This bug has been added to the optimization list.

I love the idea and is very fun.

Developer

Thank you!

Nice, work althought sometimes the magents are to random so i just got to level 3 But great great work very polished

Developer(+1)

Fixing the physics system is always a long journey. However, thank you for playing, and feel free to try the later levels when you have time!

Very nice, I was glued to the screen until I finished the game.
