You nailed this game my friend! I can't rate it but I hope my comment is enough. The gameplay was pretty fun and the movement felt really nice! It was a fun main mechanic. Pretty good game, I hope it goes well!

Developer

Hey, Mults!! It's nice to have you here!! Thank you for checking that out!! :3

I'm glad you liked it this much, i've tried to go with something small but polished, so i've focused a lot on the few things that are in the game. Thank you, form what i'm seeing the game is really enjoying very much!!! (^D^)

Submitted(+1)

I really like the game loop of pushing around physics objects and then dying to respawn.

The music was a bit repetitive tho. otherwise a great game, tho the players controls felt a bit heavy, it wasn't a deal breaker as it is a puzzle platformer :D

i also made a platformer for the jam. you can play it and rate it if you want https://itch.io/jam/wowie-jam-3/rate/940947 :)

Developer(+1)

About the music, I don't really know how to make music so, when i make them, i usually stick to small loops because of it (and of course they get kinda repetitve). I'm glad you liked the game!! (^u^)

I'll play your game tomorrow :3

The platforming feels just right, the sound effects and music fit nicely and the art is very cool!

Really nice job!

Developer(+1)

I'm glad you found it just right!! For some people it was too hard, and for some others it was a bit too easy (mostly because of the hints), so hearing that you found it just right... it feels nice!! (^u^)

Thank you for playing my game!! =D

Submitted(+1)

Thank you for making it :)

Submitted(+1)

Hey i remember you this time you finished your game congrats :D I loved the controls feels just right also found the secret room :d That tricky jump part was frustrating btw.Other than that it was fun playing this great job well done :D

Note:I would be happy if you could check out my game as well :d

Developer

Hey, yeah i remember you as well!! (^D^)

Yeah, i've finally finished a game, you don't know how happy i am about that!! I'm glad you liked the controls and i'm sorry that the tricky jump felt frustrating!! I hope it wasn't super bad... :C

Also, YOU FOUND THE EASTER EGG!! YES!! I was already thinking that nobody will find it, i'm glad to hear that i was wrong!! (^u^)

Yes, i'll play your game as soon as i'll be home!! i'm super curios to check what you've made!! =D

Nice one! Gameplay and presentation are well made, especially for three days. Level 2 was the hardest, and I appreciated that the hints were there, they made it flow very well!
Stay funky,
Dez

Developer

Yoo, it's the funky king!! Always nice to have you around!!!

Also, i'm very happy to hear that you liked my game!! And yes, Level 2 is pretty hard (if not the hardest):P

Thank you for checking out the game, and for your kind words!! (^u^)

Really good game! I liked the style and the music, it was all very smooth and I didn't find any bug :D

Hope one day my games look like yours :3

Developer(+1)

I'm really happy that you like my game that much!! (^D^)

Also hehe, the few bugs that are in the game are very shy... =D

I'm happy that you liked the game, and i'm sure that if you keep making games you'll get there eventually (just look at how long it took me to finish ONE game xD). I have to note tho that i didn't made the artstyle: i used free a tilemap online (credits in the description in case you're interested)

Good game!!

Really clever that you can carry the boxed through levels, I think you should have revolved more around this mechanic.

Fun game, not too hard but that might be because of the hints you threw on the screen.

I honestly don't know what to think about those hints, because I like to figure things out myself, but it allowed for a much more flow.

Well done!

Developer(+1)

Thank you!! I'm glad you liked the game!! (^u^)

Ye, i agree with you on that, having more levels that lets you play more with the boxes and shows different ways to interact with them could have been nicer, but in the end I'm glad i choose to stick to something short but sweet, because i barely finished it, and having a finished games was something i needed to do in a long time... Who knows, maybe I'll decide to push some updated after the jam... ;)

About the hints: both perspectives are true: one one hand hints guide players who are confused on what to do and lets them have fun as well, but on another it makes some players fell guided step by step, which ruins their experience of course... I should have gone with a hint system, where the hint shows only if the player press a button or something, but unfortunally i have thought of that only after the jam submission period ended. I Just preferred to enable everyone to play my game, even if it meant that a part of the player base will have a "less fun" experience overall...

Submitted(+1)

I think you made the right choice!

Level 2 is quite punishing if you failed to jump over the platforms. It would be great if you put a checkpoint in the middle of the map? BTW, the instruction text written in every corner of the map feels like this is a battle between the player and the author, it's fun

Developer

Thank you for the feedback!! Ye, Level 2 is the hardest level in the game imo, just because of two tricky jumps. Maybe instead of a checkpoint (because i don't really like the idea of it, even tho i do see the need for a system like them) i could do a button that unlocks a shortcut after the first tricky jump...

...I don't really know what you mean by "feels like this is a battle between the player and the author", but i'm happy that you find it funny anyway... (''^c^)

Very cool pixal art style 💪 and also the other visual effects!

Nice puzzles and sometimes a brainteaser.

Good fun game!

Developer(+1)

Yes the graphics are very nice!! I'm glad you liked the game!! (^u^)

PS. I'll play your game tomorrow because now i'm super tired. I hope you don't mind too much :3

No problem of course😊!

Overall a good experience and a cool take on the theme. If I were to critique the game I would have to argue against the balance of puzzle solving-to instructions. After picking up the first box I would say you don't really need the textual instructions anymore, part of the fun is figuring out the puzzles yourself 👍. Other than that, the graphics were really good and the idea fun to play around with, good job!

Developer

I totally agree with you on this, and most of the instruction text weren't there originally, but ALL of my playtesters they were confused on how to progress the game, and quit because they either didn't know what to do, or thought that the game was over, and since i didn't wanted that to happen to the player, i choose to add them, even if it "muddies" the experience for some players :P

I guess adding an hint system could have been a better option, too bad i thought of this only now :/

Thanks for playing (and hopefully enjoying) my game!! (^u^)

this game was challenging, and the controls weren't excellent, but hey that how we improve! i loved the graphics, music was good.

Developer

yes, there are many ways where i could have improved on it, but hey, for this being my first platformer it didn't turned out half bad i'd say!! (^D^)

PS. It was challenging in a good way or a bad way?? I'm assuming you meant that it was hard, which is different of being challenging :3

Submitted (1 edit) (+1)

OH HEY YOUR FIRST PLATFORM! NOT BAD! i would say both... like it was frustrating, but i do see potential! there, i would say study other platforms and see what they do to keep it very Interesting and challenging enough to be enjoyable, you should go play VIMLARKS  game and see what i mean by that

Submitted(+1)

Very awesome game, I really liked the art of it but it felt a bit too hard at times. Other than that, really cool game!

Developer

Ye, especially in the late levels, the game is pretty hard!! I'm glad you liked it anyway tho :3

Oh, and the art isn't done by me :3 (credits for the art in the description)

Haha, a robot in lab too. Seems like we had the same idea. Anyway, i wasnt able to run the game but i saw the graphics and there seems to be nice game feel. Sadly i can't vote since it doesn't run for me...

Developer

Aww, man i don't know why that happens!! It's sor random too, to some people it doesn't work and to some it does. I'm sorry that you can't play the game :C

I know this isn't really affecting the problem, but i'll ask it anyway: what browser did you use??

Submitted(+1)

Chrome. No loading screen even appear. I hope you'll find a solution. Good luck man !

Submitted(+1)

Damm i love how u need to move up and down. Simple yet fun way. Bit tedious with the lasers and box after the light is switched on.

Developer

ah, i see you have some trouble with the last room. Thank you for letting me know that!! (^u^)

And ye, i've tried to go with something super simple, but polished this time :3

This game has Amazing Game potential, but, the very interesting idea and fun gameplay is heavily watered down because of the movement, it feels way too fast and a little uncontrollable, and the music feels too short to be a loop. But otherwise, everything else is really good, i liked the art, the throwing is interesting, and the actual gameplay idea is amazing. Great game!

Developer

(^D^) Thanks for the feedback!! I've noted the speed problem on my notebook!! I hope that it didn't ruined your experience that much :/

And about the music... I know. I'm not a good musician sadly :C
