Thank you so much for doing this! It points so clearly (and painfully ^^”) where I need to put efforts next, it’s extremely invaluable! Thanks again!

Amazing game! The Link’s Awakening vibe is real and I loved it! Even the music is nice, very well done!

Very cool puzzle game, switching between characters with different abilities is great! I hope you’ll do more levels after the jam.

Hello, thanks a lot for playing the game!

Did you find the game over that jump-scary? I tried to tone it down, since coming face to face with the monster when turning a corner is already quite distressing. :D

The puzzles are not that complicated (push buttons and put batteries on plates to open/close doors, get the 4 batteries to open the final door), but doing them in the dark while not knowing the layout makes them way more difficult than I intended, sorry for that.

Hey, thanks a lot for playing the game!

Yeah, there were some hiding places planned but of course game jam means limited time means scope reduction. :} Maybe after the jam I’ll add some polish and missing features.

To make the game a tiny bit easier, did you try pressing start (enter) to show the path the monster was following? Not an extremely stable feature since it was added late as debug mode, but it can help reaching to the exit.

Nice creepy game, I wish there were more getting chased by the monster. :D

The gameplay was addictive enough that I went to the end of the game. The boss was a bit hard, I still don’t know if it’s because she has a lot of HP (and there’s no hit animation), or because the hurtbox is tiny and most of my hits missed.

The GB soul is anyway extremely present.

Tip: You have access to a flashlight with select/Tab. :)

Well, that’s a Godot game, so I doubt it could actually run on GameBoy hardware/emulator.

I’ll try to upload an exe once the jam is over because I don’t think I’m allowed to change my submission during the ratings phase.

Ah ah, that was my inspiration too. :D

The art is extremely good! The controls and collisions feel a bit clunky, especially since the mechanics are a bit hard to guess. You should add a sound or a visual effect once a task is complete.

Oh, and excellent pun for the game name. :]

The simple and small gameplay loop keeps you playing until the end, well done.

The gameplay is simple yet efficient, and the art is very good! Nice game!

(1 edit)

Nice game ! The art looks very good ! The ghosts were a bit more frustrating than spooky, because of hit/hurtboxes that were probably not permissive enough, but the small story to tie the levels together is pretty neat.

Nice game, a bit too hard for my taste, the monsters move too fast for me ^^”.

I love the animation when a monster get you though.

The rar looks corrupted :/

Not yet, but I can try to export one. I don’t have a Windows computer to test if it works though.

The possession mechanic is really fun and I can see easily see that become a full blown puzzle platformer game. The need to have some space available possess/unpossess the character feels a bit frustrating though, especially since there’s not really any level exploiting this mechanic.

Solid game overall, and I would play more of it. :)

This toy has a great atmosphere and does the spooky vibes just right. Great art too, and the music is simple yet very effective. I could definitely see myself playing this with friends on my GB back in the days and having a lot of fun. :)

Wow, this game oozes style and atmosphere like crazy, I love it! Way to go with the spooky theme! I just wish I could skip the cut scenes after the first time to get right back into the game. Well done!

The art style is pretty awesome! Controls are a bit weird though : it’s hard to correctly orient the character, and to be sure where the attack lands (both mine and those of the enemies). It also took me way too long to find where I needed to be positioned to interact with the tree-like entities ^^”. I had a fun time playing it but could not pass the boss in the cauldron.

The controls feel pretty good, and the art and music are nice! The game is a bit challenging and unforgiving though. Even the first enemy has quite some range and lightning fast reflexes. :D

I wish I could teleport to my head to just bypass enemies. :p

Very cool game! Like a gb demake of Lethal Company. :) Almost got the $1000, but I was missing $25 and my lamp ran out D:

The multiple different monsters are very cool and I loved finding each one and understanding how they worked. Very solid game overall!

I don’t know how I did, but somehow the water did not drown me and I had to restart the page. :O

The controls are way too hard for my taste and I may have scream in frustration. The graphics are gorgeous though. Nice touch for including the multiple file formats to try it on real hardware. :)

Solid game with a nice mix of puzzle and platform. The music is a real plus, but all the electric puns take the cake. :]

I wish there was some kind of score keeping, because I spent quite some time rewiring some levels for more efficiency.

Two small bugs I encountered:

  • when crouching, the camera gets down, which is useful in some situations, or could be if the circuit mode adapted to that new camera position which it does not. :/
  • when pausing the game with circuit mode while a phantom is dying, that phantom comes back to life, technically making them an unundeaddead.

I loved the character switching mechanics! I wanted to have more stuff to do to play with it. :) The writing is nice, it’s just missing some audio.

I loved the character design!

I had some issues with collisions though: sometimes I triggered the npc fear when popping out of items near them, sometimes not. Also, when multiple items/npcs are near eachother, it’s hard to possess the right one. :D

I could not pass the Dutchman. :( With no checkpoint I couldn’t bear to redo everything, sorry. ^^”

Cool take on Flappy Bird! I could see it become a full game with a multiple levels and a bit more polish (and checkpoints, please 🙏 :D)

Nice, another game where you run from aliens on a deserted space station. :D I managed to escape with just 1HP, after downing the med kit I got on the way. Tip: don’t try to fight the monsters too much, running is more efficient. :D

I loved the graphics, especially the aliens design! I wish there were more diversity with environment though, because finding your way is very hard (but that’s an issue with my game too, it’s hard to make lot of art with the limit).

I had a hard time understanding how the aliens moved, sometimes they just disappeared in front of me.

I also hit a minor bug : on some doors (the keycards doors maybe? not sure), if I stood in front of them and opened then closed the minimap, I could not open the door anymore. I had to move once and come back and the door could open again.

Great game anyway! Is it 3D behind the scenes, or full 2D with handmade illustrations?

The screenshots look interesting! Will you be uploading this later?

Yeah, I see what you mean, the lights do need a bit more work. But you can use your flashlight with tab/select, which should help.

What do you mean?

If you are using an AZERTY keyboard, replace Q and W by A and Z respectively, the other keys should stay the same.

It should work with a gamepad too, but I did not test it.

Incredible contribution, with gorgeous graphics, catchy tunes, multiple levels and interesting mechanics. I feel humbled.

Is there any way to get this game for Android without using the Google Play Store?

Hey, thanks for playing, and congrats for getting the first Any% using OOB strats. :D I thought I got rid of that bug, I’ll need to dig deeper. :p

Glad you liked the 3, they are also the one I found the most OP, but a lot of people would rather used the 2 to get more range while maintaining some speed. Archer are indeed a menace, I wanted their attacks to hurt since they are imo the main reason to roll, and I wanted the player to roll and hence switch characters a lot.

Audio is definitely not my strong suit, I’ll try to tune the volume down in general.

Thanks again for all the feedback!

I’m sorry, I said I would but actually I can’t check your game, since it’s for Windows only and I run on Linux. :/

Thanks. I will check your game. :)

Simple and fun, the concept just works, well done! My only issue is that you have to make a lot of effort to remember which number is going to pop next, and the simplest strategy is just to hang around the tiles where you know you can get a 5 or 6.

Also, very satisfying dices sounds ! :D

Thanks for playing ! You can actually also attack with the 0 key from the numpad, if you’d rather use your pinky. :D Also, L-shift for the spemoves works.

Actually you can! Either using a gamepad (right stick), or with WASD (or ZQSD) if you’re using a keyboard. Sorry I did not explicitly mentioned those keys in the description. :)
