This was addictive. Like I had to stop myself.

My singular note is that the progression seems static in terms of which ones spawn. Ie, the spawn tables seem to never change weighting imo. It would be nice if at the end you saw mostly the Three Head, Hooded Lurker, etc. (sorry if I'm getting the names wrong!) since by the time you get kitted out, the beginner ones are trivial! That's it.

If this had existed when I was in middle school there is no saying how much time I would have spent on it. It's got that correct blend of chill and active. You designed a very good core mechanic and upgrade system.

Proof of how much I played:

Great job :)

high level of polish, looks very good.
Nice sound and gameplay loop.
Cool Upgrade System.
Strong submission, especially for one single person. Well done!

Amazingly polished execution, so many details and animations. While there wasnt much content as gameplay goes im just extremely impressed. The upgrade system also was well-thought out, the upgrades made sense. Awesome

The game can be a little frustrating at times and it starts to get repetitive once you've hunted 20 creatures ! pretty nice looking thought ;)

Good game. Had fun playing.

Probably the most polished entry I've played so far. Everything is nice and has its own detail and little movements that just adds to the environment. Loved the different ghost designs. Got hooked with this one and played for a lot longer than I thought I was going to.

Amazing game one of my favourites from this jam!

Wait… this is a jam game???

It’s so freaking well polished, has such a nice little menu and animated background, and–wait I bought all the upgrades for 19 coins after the 3rd monster. Good, I’m not completely crazy.

Love the idea, the execution, everything.

Excellent art and UI! I found the controls tough but fair. Really nice entry overall.

I had a similar concept about taking photos of spirits before I pivoted to more of a whack-a-mole sort of arcade game. I really like the polish in the art, and I liked the lens size and camera speed upgrades the most. Great entry!

Excellent concept and execution.

CCadori back at it once again, with another excellent submission! Wonderful and fitting art style, original gameplay idea and overall immensely polished and well worked out. Perhaps my number one game this jam, I truly wish for you to win the first place!

Developer

Thank you very much, there are a lot of really cool games in this edition, I'm glad you liked it😄

Excellent work!  It took a little while before I realized there were crosshairs to be aligned so was confused why I missed when the star was clearing in the view port.  I also hit a bug where the price was 36 but didn't deduct money.  Keep it up!

Developer

Oh, that's embarrassing, I only discovered this bug after I submitted it, I was hoping no one would notice 😄

Thanks for the review!

Very polished! Fairly easy to pickup. At first I thought that I had to get all the yellow circles in my lens, not just getting one of them centered. Once I realized that the game became a lot easier haha.   The only other minor thing I would say is that the coins remaining don't show in the upgrade menu itself.

I could see this idea being expanded, very well done!

Very good game! It has a fun game loop and the challenge of hitting the precise "perfect" marks had me setting ambushes for the monsters' paths. Artwork is very good as well!

When I first saw the concept for this game, I thought I wouldn’t like playing it. But I’m absolutely hooked! The differently behaving creatures and upgrades make it really interesting.

Cool game! I wish there was more depth in the gameplay but the visuals are top notch as always. You’ve really found your own art style. It’s another very impressive solo entry by you. Great work, keep it up!

Love it. As others have said a collection log to see what and how many you've collected would have been a great addition. The art was gorgeous.

I am a big fan of collection games. Your art stands out, and the music is a nice touch. I do wish I could see how many of all the creatures I have collected/what the goal of the game was. I collected for a while, but the work was never done :)

Thank you very much! I agree that it would have been a great addition, something similar was in my backlog but I didn't have time to implement it! 😅

Charming and simple game. Kinda wish you had like a collection log o read about what you just got would of been cool , but great work regardless!

Developer

Thank you! The collection was part of my backlog, but I had no time to implement unfortunately 🙁
